Politics › How Political Opponents Forced Me Out Of Government House with juju-gov. Ajimobi by handie(op): 12:51am On Apr 17, 2015 |
Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State on Thursday explained why he had to relocate from the Government House to his private residence in Ibadan, the state capital. He said he had to flee his official residence after opponents directed evil traditional sacrifices (known as ebo in Yoruba) at him. Mr. Ajimobi made the disclosure in Ibadan during the eighth-day Fidau prayer for the late Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Baosari Haruna. He said ahead of the just-concluded elections, some desperate politicians did their best to send him out of Government House at all cost through many devilish means. “They first came to you Alfas to give them prayers that will send me out of office, but my own Alfa prayers superseded that of these desperate politicians. “Every morning, I always go out on exercise. If you know the Government House very well, it has many interchange, popularly called `orita’, I see all kinds of sacrifices (ebo) placed in all these junctions.’’ “Worried by these developments, some of you my Alfas here advised me to move out of the Government House to render their evil plots useless,’’he said. Mr. Ajimobi said his reason for fleeing his official quarters is contrary to tales spread by opponents that he packed out of Government House because he was afraid of imminent defeat as no governor had ever been reelected for second term in the history of the state. The governor said he had to leave “to thwart the evil plots of these desperate politicians’’. The governor, who is still basking in the euphoria of breaking the jinx of being the first governor to be elected for second term in the state, thanked all spiritual leaders in Oyo for their prayers for him and the state. “It is only Allah who shamed my detractors through your prayers for me and that of the prayers I made in Saudi Arabia where I had the privilege of entering inside the Kaabah,’’ he said. The elated governor asked the Islamic scholars to select 10 of them that would join him to Saudi Arabia soon to perform the lesser Hajj ( Umrah) to thank Allah for His mercies on him and the state. He thanked the people of Oyo State for once again reposing their confidence on him by voting him in as governor of the state for another four years. Mr. Ajimobi promised not to let the people of Oyo state down, saying he would reciprocate their kind gesture by surpassing the landmark achievements he recorded in his first term. The governor had on Saturday emerged winner of the gubernatorial election in the state, breaking the second term jinx in the state. He defeated former governors Rasheed Ladoja of Accord Party and Alao Akala of the Labour Party; as well as a former senate leader, Teslim Folarin, of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Party’s Seyi Makinde. Mr. Ajimobi’s party, the All Progressives Congress, polled 327,310, Accord- 254,520, Labour Party – 184,111, the Peoples Democratic Party – 79,019 and the Social Democratic Party- 54,740. With his victory, Mr. Ajimobi became the first Oyo State governor to be re-elected for a second term. Former governors, Bola Ige, Lamidi Adesina, Mr. Ladoja and Mr. Akala all lost their re-election bids . No you simply need to control the money or send the sermo to prison Brother it goes beyond that. We need someone who will make policies whixh can improve tge current state of things. It's not just about giving and sanctioning ultimatums. How can you make policies in a field you know nothing about? Or you want him to delegate all d decision making process to a team of experts? COS is a very crucial position almost like the 'silent' president.
If BRF won't be that, then throw him in the 'deep sea' -- 'Power'. Would also have said power but with the myraids of problem there, what we need in the power sector is a technocrat. Someone who can introduce policies that will increase the capacity of tge national grid in as much as BRF is brilliant, we need a technocrat for that position |

989900: Muhammadu Buhari- Petroleum or defence=CHECK Rotimi Amaechi- Secretary to the federal Govt=CHECK Pat Utomi for finance =CHECK
The rest, I can't vouch for.
Meanwhile BRF=Chief of Staff (Buhari needs someone like him there . . . a very sensitive/important position . . . more important than VP).
CBN Governor= ? (But I'd like an antagonist like Henry Boyo to be somewhere around that institution).
Justice=Femi Falana. Femi falana for justice? I get your point but i can't remember him in even one GMB campaign rally. What message would GMB be passing to party members if he carries someone who doesn't contribute anything to the campaign when there's someone who gave his all to the campaign to make him reach this point and they both have similar qualifications(SANS) I agree FF was involved in most EFCC cases and as such, should be near the justice ministry. There's minister of state or maybe the EFCC chairman and BRF as COS? We need him ina position where his impact will be felt by the common man not Some place where his talents will be underemployed. Infact, i will go for Yemi Osinbajo over FF as minister of justice(Brother has got the experience having been a commisioner for Justice in Lagos state and also was once an assistant to an attorney general of the federation) |

Politics › Oyo: Folarin, PDP Candidate Removes Transformer Donated To Community by handie(op): 1:07am On Apr 14, 2015 |
It was a shock find for the Sabo community in Ibadan, Oyo State capital in the early hours of Sunday as they woke up in the morning only to see a Transformer donated to the community few days ago by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin, being carted away by some aides of the former Senate Leader.
The PDP governorship candidate who came fourth in the Oyo State Gubernatorial election had reportedly conceded defeat on Saturday night apparently having seen the signals that the incoming polls result did not favour him.
However, the alarm raised by members of the Sabo community on sighting those removing the Transformer in the early hours of Sunday did not move the perpetrators who eventually removed the transformer to an unknown place.
Members of the Sabo community instantly stormed the palace of the Sarkin Hausawa, Alhaji Ahmed Dahiru Zungeru where they expressed their worry, a development which compelled the Sarki to wade into the matter by calling on Folarin’s political associate within the community, Alhaji Bashiru Maiborno, for clarification.
Daily Trust gathered that it was at this stage that Baiborno spiritedly made moves to effect the return of the transformer to Sabo community, but he was rebuffed as the Sabo community vowed not to take back the transformer from Senator Folarin.
Efforts by our correspondent to get Senator Folarin’s personal reaction on the development was futile as he could not be reached.
Maiborno however insisted that the transformer was removed with a view to keeping it in a safer place. “Senator Folarin is a man of his words,” Maiborno told inquisitive journalists. Politics › Governorship Poll: Apc’s Rochas Okorocha Wins Reelection In Imo by handie(op): 9:41pm On Apr 12, 2015 |
Incumbent Governor Rochas Okorocha has won the keenly contested Saturday’s governorship election in Imo state. With results from 26 of the state’s 27 local governments collated, Mr. Okorocha has clearly defeated his main challenger, the Peoples Democratic Party’s Emeka Ihedioha. Mr. Okorocha has so far scored 371206 votes while Mr. Ihedioha, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, has 305,320 votes in the bag. The APC candidates is ahead of Mr. Ihedioha by 66,086 votes. The only outstanding local government – Oru East – has 65, 735 registered votes. So, even if all the voters there vote for Mr. Ihedioha, he still would not be able to catch up with Mr. Okorocha. The Independent National Electoral Commission is expected to declare the governor winner in the next hour or so. With his victory, the APC has succeeded in holding on to the only state it controls in Nigeria’s South-East geo-political zone. Three of the remaining states (Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi) in the region are controlled by the PDP while one (Anambra) has remained firmly in the grip of the All Progressives Grand Alliance for more than nine years. jazzydee: History of buhari political ship jumping: 1).2003 and 2007 presidential candidate under the platform of ANPP. 2).2011 left ANPP and joined CPC and became presidential candidate for 2011 under the platform of CPC 3).2015 left/merged CPC to form APC and became presidential candidate for 2015 election.
Buhari is not an example of a committed party member he has jumped ship three times in his 13 yrs political history. He is not a yard stick nor a model of loyalty to any political party.
I will not be surprised if he joins a different party or forms a new alliance for the 2019 presidential election once the nascent union of strange bedfellows called APC disintegrate over the looming unchecked party chieftain egos that is already haunting the flickering union. Sorry to say this but you really are a poor student of history. Buhari never would have left the ANPP had they not deserted him in tge court of law despite him having genuine claims to irregularities in the 2007 elections(Intenational observers and even the winner of the election Umaru Musa Yar'Adua[God bless his soul ] adduced to this but the ANPP chosed to leave him in the lurch due to some appointments in a so called government of national unity. Would you continue associating with such unloyal felliws? When he left ANPP, The defunct ACN would easily have accepted him. Just imagine how different the 2011 results might have been had he decided to team up with ACN but rather than do this, he started a political party. If this is not uprightness and a belief in what he stands for, please what is it? |
