Thousands troop out as Orji Kalu campaigns for APC at Night

As the February 16 elections draw closer former Governor of Abia State and Chieftain of the ruling All Progressive's Congress Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has intensified his campaign for the APC in the Southeast.

The APC has since garnered massive support in the Southeast particularly in Abia state since the Igbere born Abia North Senatorial candidate joined the party.
Dr. Kalu has since been visiting every ward in Abia North for his Senatorial bid campaign as well as other APC candidate especially the re-election of President Buhari.
His recent campaign rally in Abia North saw thousands troop out in support of the APC . The video shows a massive crowd despite the night with people climbing buildings just to get a glimpse.

Former Governor of Abia State and Chieftain of the APC Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu caused a stir online when he recently shared a throw back picture of him and President Buhari.

The Abia-North Candidate of the ruling All Progressive's Congress shared the picture which according to him was taken 18 years ago when President Buhari visited his Igbere home in Abia State.

According to the post on his official twiiter handle @OUKtweets Dr. Kalu stated that he's relationship with President Buhari spanned over 30 years he described President Buhari as a man of "impeccable character", contrary to public opinion that he joined the APC due to his court case.

He wrote: " 18 years ago I took this photograph with our dear President @MBuhari in my Igbere home. My relationship with him spans over 30 years,politics aside. It's no surprising we are on the same political side @APCNigeria & he remains the man I knew "a man of impeccable character".

The tweet has since generated a lot of reactions.

This is just one reason I would continue to condemn homosexuals especially GAYS, they deserve to be put to death instantly. That 16 years is not enough.

The relationship between the former governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu and prominent leaders of Nigeria like the president of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari; former Head of State General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, former Biafran Warlord and Igbo leader , late Chief Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and others dates back to the 1980s . But in 2006 , a remarkable reunion took place in Abia State courtesy of Gov. Orji Uzor Kalu .

The young , ebullient , large hearted Kalu hosted a carnival- like event and reconciliatory meeting for his friends who at the time were perceived to be best of enemies to themselves . It was at the traditional event that his personal friend, General Muhammadu Buhari who also received the first Igbo traditional title reconciled with IBB and Ojukwu . Also at the event were late Sir Alex Ekwueme, Dr Chris Ngige, Elder(Mrs) Eunice Uzor Kalu (Odiukonamba) and others.

At then , General Buhari was a regular visitor to Neya Camp , Igbere ; the palatial country-home of OUK until he(Buhari )became the President of Nigeria . The friendship of the duo has however, become exceedingly admirable such that at the recent presidential campaign rally held in Aba , President Buhari couldn’t hide his joy as OUK gifted him the trademark and signature of Enyimba International FC. A club he nurtured to an enviable height of being the first Nigerian club to win the CAF cup back to back in 50 years .
