Its just like those people that travel abroad, then keep telling you tales of how things are very hard abroad, yet they buy cars every year and send home, they have properties everywhere in a short time period. Good analysis happney65. When I was growing up in Uptown, what drew me to the Democratic Party was the Republican hatred of Minorities especially Blacks and Hispanics. Another one is the case of the minimum wage. I remember the likes of Tom Delay, Jack Kemp, and many others vowing that minimum wage will be raised after their dead bodies. The National minimum wage in America is $7.25 and what the heck can you do with that for heaven sake. To live comfortably in Chicago as a single guy with no wife and children you have to make at least $35K to 40K in salary. That's how expensive these Mega Cities in America are but these worthless Republicons making millions are against Unions because Unions fight for the right of employees. An average CEO's in America makes several millions of $$$ not counting the Stock Options which runs into Tens of Millions of $$$ yearly and these same Kleptomaniacs will tell you that raising minimum wage will cause inflation and makes people lose their jobs. The elites just want poor people to be servile to them all their lives. I wonder an average Trump ass licker on Nairaland barely eating twice a day, making N30.000 or N40.000 monthly salary can relate to these greedy Republicans.

It's just bleeped up really. Living in a highly conservative region. I kind of know how the average conservative thinks. A few years ago, there were discussions within the government circle about raising the minimum wage. I had conservative co-workers earning over 100k a year getting mad. Their reason was very stupid. Most were worried that the daily coffee we buy at $1.80c would increase by a few cents, and the believe was that the employer will make up for increased wages by passing the cost to customers. The coffee shop guys work for circa $12 an hour and barely struggle to even get full time hours. Alot of those conservatives have no conscience or feelings.

In Pennsylvania for example, both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are cities in PA

minimum wage generally in PA is 7.50, but in Philadelphia it's $14 while in Pittsburgh is 7.50

Big mac in both places is the same amount $4.00

Now if an uneducated single woman has a baby or two kids

At least she would want to stay in a two-bedroom, for comfort and convenience

Both Philly and Pittsburgh have the same average in two bedroom cost

So a woman in Philly can basically do 1 job on a 40 hr shift, paying $15 and pay for her two-bedroom comfortably and do something tangible with the rest, leaving the other job she had to do to meet up for another person

While in Pittsburgh at 7.50, if she works 40 hour week, she can't even pay rent, so she has to work two jobs and gigs to meet up.

Increasing the minimum wage doesn't mean the person would start buying properties, most likely the person is going to spend all of that money back into the economy. By feeding, paying debts, paying loans, paying rent. And still, have a little something to save for a major health issue

As we know, almost everyone in America is one health problem away from going bankrupt in America

Three things that bankrupt people fast is America is, health care, divorce and various baby mamas

Either the markets are making a short-term mistake which will be corrected later at the peril of some stupid buyers (it happens).
Or, (more likely), the markets are responding strongly to the roll out of coronavirus vaccines, which are hoped to wipe out the virus and return normalcy to the American and World economy.
