That's a surprise. Few years ago I bought a return ticket from Lagos to Abuja and it was about 45 Grand if I am right. How long is that flight from Lagos to Ibadan.

Ahahahahahaa..Right now the flight from Lagos to Abuja now is almost 100K partly due to Insecurity as more people that can afford to travel by air now travel by air due to Insecurity as they don't want to be kidnapped and told to pay some huge ransom..The North is a total behive of Insecurity..The SW is even still safe to some extent

The flight from Lagos to Ibadan is about 20mins or so I think.

Still very safe.The current spate of insecurity happening in Nigeria hasnt had a massive toll on the SW like the north and parts of the SS and SE. The Govornors of the SW even had to establish a joint security outfit named AMOTEKUN..So far the Lagos Ibadan highway is still safe and currently undertaking reconstruction and also the Lagos Ibadan train just started.

And also,Overland flies Lagos to Ibadan and vice.versa daily..checked days back and the least air ticket is about 25,000 naira.

Baba tell them oo..Most of our people believe you have to have millions or a big Man or Woman before you register under an health insurance scheme which is not the case.. However the government too should try and expand the NHIS to make it much more efficient and make the populace know much more about it.I tried to sign up under the NHIS around 2018 and the stupid Man that spoke to me told me they are not accepting new applicants now and that their website is down and does not know when it will come back..I was like is something wrong with you sir?That was what I told him as I was livid. He only said there is nothing he or me can do if I like I should shout from now till tommorow.. Imagine a Federal goverment scheme ooo..That is the area the government has done wrong.

However in Oyo state,Health Insurance is a big deal..The Ajimobi administration started a health insurance scheme for only people in the formal sector alone and I think Oyo state civil servants alone. The Seyi Makinde administration did an expansion that brought in artisans and people in the informal sector on board.It is a nice program as it is always advertised on radio and has a segment for it on Isaac Brown's Saturday morning programme on Fresh FM.

With about 8000 yearly you can sign up..They have plans for 8000,13,000 108,000 etc..I would have signed up but I havent had the chance to visit my hospital.I need to be sure my hospital accepts OYSHIA before I sign up with them.. I will prefer to sign up with either the state health insurance or the Federal than a private health insurance scheme..I saw some private ones too but I needed to be sure my hospital accepts them

President-elect Joe Biden expressed skepticism about his powers to implement his agenda by executive action Tuesday in a private virtual meeting with civil rights leaders, according to a recording reported Thursday by The Intercept.

Biden told a group of seven leaders of civil rights organizations that some progressive Democrats are urging executive actions that are "way beyond the bounds" of a president's legal authority. The comments reflect what Biden has said publicly about the limited scope of executive action and the need for presidents to work with Congress to enact long-lasting policy.

In the meeting, Biden said he planned to roll back everything President Donald Trump has done through executive action, rather than with the approval of Congress. He said he would use his powers "to undo every single damn thing this guy has done by executive authority."
"I am not going to violate the Constitution. Executive authority that my progressive friends talk about is way beyond the bounds," he said.
But, he said, he would not seek to use executive action to mandate policy changes that he has long said are up to Congress to make.
Biden cited gun control as an example, saying that if he signed an executive order banning assault weapons, a future Republican president could undo that ban and use it as a precedent to drastically expand gun rights.

"We do that, next guy comes along and says, 'Well, guess what? By executive order, I guess everybody can have machine guns again,' " he said. "So we gotta be careful."
Audio of the call, obtained by The Intercept's Ryan Grim, was included in the publication's "Deconstructed" podcast Thursday, and at further length in a report on the progressive outlet's website.

Asked about the audio obtained by The Intercept, a Biden transition official said: "President-elect Biden is the same person behind closed doors that he is in public; honest, direct and realistic about the challenges facing our nation the day he is sworn in. The remarks shared in the meeting reflect the same positions he has taken publicly on executive orders and like his predecessors he has the same levers of power to address immediate policy issues within the grounds of the Constitution."

Biden's decision Thursday to nominate Tom Vilsack for agriculture secretary, reprising the role he held in former President Barack Obama's administration, could incense the groups on Tuesday's call.
NAACP President Derrick Johnson warned Biden on the call that selecting Vilsack would anger Black farmers in Georgia. He pointed to Vilsack's 2010 firing of Shirley Sherrod, then the Georgia state director of rural development for the Department of Agriculture, after the right-wing website Breitbart publicized parts of a speech she had given that were later revealed to be out of context.
Johnson told Biden that Sherrod is a hero to Black voters in Georgia.

"Former Secretary Vilsack could have a disastrous impact on voters in Georgia. Shirley Sherrod is a civil rights legend, a hero," Johnson said in the meeting.

But Biden dismissed Johnson's comment about Vilsack, The Intercept reported. He also said the topic of police reform should be avoided -- blaming the "defund the police" slogan adopted by some progressives for down-ballot Democratic losses in the 2020 election.
"I also don't think we should get too far ahead ourselves on dealing with police reform in that, because they've already labeled us as being 'defund the police' anything we put forward in terms of the organizational structure to change policing -- which I promise you, will occur. Promise you," Biden said.

"That's how they beat the living hell out of us across the country, saying that we're talking about defunding the police. We're not. We're talking about holding them accountable. We're talking about giving them money to do the right things. We're talking about putting more psychologists and psychiatrists on the telephones when the 911 calls through. We're talking about spending money to enable them to do their jobs better, not with more force, with less force and more understanding."
