I am happy that Senator Gbubemi Saraki is once again out in limelight after suffering unnecessary suppression by her brother Senator Bukola Saraki. For many who followed her activities in the House of Rep and the Senate, Gbubemi is intelligent, resourceful, articulate and assertive.

Though she lacks political popularity and the trademark sheming tendencies of her brother Senator Bukola Saraki but she is far more intelligent, which likely might have endeared her to their late father. I believe this may be the source of the enduring bitter sibling rivalry between them.

Naaaa,she wanted to become governor after the end of her brother's tenure and bukola was having none of it that was what made them fall out..It is just a matter of time before she falls out with the APC too because she wants to become governor and I doubt if she would be allowed because of how Kwara state is..A majorly Islamic state..She should go and sit her ass somewhere

That Wikipedia link you posted is inaccurate. And there’s nothing to back up the claim that the cancellation cost Lagos money. The loan is the reason the project was canceled in the first place. Back in 2015. I spent hours reading about this project. There’s even an interview from jakande himself. Shagari was the one that sabotaged the project because jakande was an opposition and he didn’t congratulate shagari when he was elected. Buhari has to cancel it because the federal government can not stand as a guarantor for Lagos state government to get the loan. You can read more about it here.

Below are the words and the link of Honourable David Setonji,an engineer,an APC member and a member of the Lagos state house of assembly in tribune newspaper telling you how Lagosians had to pay for the cancellation due to the ineppitude of Buhari

"“The population of the state is over 20 million and we don’t have the commensurate transportation system.

“During the tenure of Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande as the governor of the state in the second republic, there were plans for a metroline project and the state had an agreement with a French company on this with an advanced payment.

“Unfortunately for us, in December 1983, the military government took over and truncated the project. I appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari, who was in-charge then, to help revive the project like the recently launched rail line from Abuja to Kaduna,” he said.

The trained engineer added that the transportation burden in the state was too much for the state government to bear.

He explained that the agreement then was that if there was a breach of the contract by the state government, they would lose the deposit and still pay damages to the company.

“The money was much then, but I cannot remember the exact amount. We are appealing to the Federal Government to assist us in reviving the project or start another one.

“I am a civil engineer by profession and I know there is no problem without solution. We know that things have skyrocketed, but if the Federal Government is ready, they would do it.

No wonder you are a buharist..Yes Lagos borrowed money like all of them..The terms of the loan was for the project..Buhari came in and claimed one thing one thing..He cancelled it and the cancellation according to the terms of the loan cost Lagos $70million..Not even Lagos alone but the whole of Nigeria cos the loan was among the $30billon loan written off for us by the Paris club due to the ingenuity of Obasanjo and Okonjo Iweala..These are facts and not propaganda.

So when you get into the perennial lagos traffic that cuts shorts the life span of most lagosians just know that it was caused by your saint Buhari president.

A visionair who was light years ahead of his time. He changed the landscape of lagos without making noise. Without shoving the illusion of Mega City down our throats. Just a humble and pragmatic man who traveled overseas and brought back ideas to help the common man and changed lagos for the best.

He also had a project for the Lagos Metroline network which was scrapped by General Buhari in 1985 and led to a loss of over $78 million to Lagosians..It was a project that would have solved the perennial transportation issue in Lagos till date but Buhari came in and cancelled it..

He is not like the yeye ones of today that rule Lagos..Baba Lateef Jakande did not have 1/10 of what the likes of the yeye ones of today had yet his legacies still stand tall till tommorow in Lagos

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 23 election, Atiku Abubakar, has said that the current travel ban imposed by the United States on some politicians in Nigeria has validated his claim that the presidential election was rigged in favour of the All Progressives Congress and President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former Vice President in a statement by his media aide, Mr. Paul Ibe, on Wednesday, said he had maintained after the presidential election that the poll was not credible.

He further alleged that the leadership under Buhari and his allies engaged in propaganda to deny that the election was rigged.

According to him, after many months of allegedly living in denial, the Buhari administration was now faced with the truth in the form of a US visa ban on politicians who undermined Nigeria’s democracy.

He quoted the spokesman of the US State Department, Morgan Ortagus, as saying, “We condemn those whose acts of violence, intimidation, or corruption harmed Nigerians or undermined the democratic process.

“The Secretary of State is imposing visa restrictions on Nigerians believed to be responsible for, or complicit in, undermining democracy in Nigeria. These individuals have operated with impunity at the expense of the Nigerian people and undermined democratic principles and human rights.”

Atiku said the above statement supported his position that the 2019 elections were ‘undermined by the actions of state actors and institutions.

He said, “We also wish to thank the United States of America for standing with the Nigerian people against those whose desire is to truncate our democracy.



“We urge the Nigerian people not to despair. There is hope on the horizon. There is light at the end of the tunnel. The myriad of security, economic and social challenges Nigeria currently faces, which has resulted in our nation becoming the world headquarters for extreme poverty will, God willing, soon be over, with the prospect of purposeful and result-oriented leadership.”

This is a national appointment & not an Oyo State job. U may not know him but PMB does. PMB says he doesn't want d party to nominate for him this time around. These were d people who worked for PMB's emergence in 2015, before d party decided to giv national positions to people who weren't deserving.
Best thing about it is that going through d guys CV, he seems to be exceptionally competent.
