Agriculture › Re: My Egg Poultry Farming Experience As A New Farmer by Happyfellow147: 10:18pm On Aug 28, 2017 |
How can you say there's egg glut when egg price increased to #50 from #30? I'm asking for learning purpose please monchazfarms: @ OP,first of all,I salute your courage.Secondly,I want to critisizee and aa well pass some vital information /advice to you because that's what you need to become stronger and resilient in your chosen business and I'm doing so because I'm also into the business and has a little advice to offer.
I'll critisize you on the following: 1.You shouldn't have started with point of lay birds if you're a first timer because poultry business is a practical one which requires first hand information and starting with older birds won't let you have the experience you need.
2.Most point of lay birds aren't given the complete and required vaccination and this has a tendency to affect the birds in future if your source is unreliable
3.From your analysis, you started this business this August and that tells you're unaware of the market trends before tasting the depth of the river with both legs: there has been egg glut (excess egg production) in the market since February this year up till now,the worse of its kind.
4.Be ready to battle with any disease(s)/ virus associated with the farm you rented if you didn't fumigate and disinfect the farm before bringing in your birds.
5.Your birds were supposed to attain 1.5kg or 1,500g at 18 or 19 weeks, this implies that your birds weren't properly fed by the sellers/brooders and this might affect the overall performance of your birds.
6.Your choice of business is good, but your timing is wrong.
Now,take these advise:
1.Keep on giving those birds growers until you attain 50% production,it might sound so ridiculous, but it worked for me.This' to enable you have a better uniformity and also allow those lagging behind to attain sexual maturity. If you start giving them layers feed, lots of your birds might not lay.
2.Give them sangrovit @ the recommended dosage for two weeks.
3.Give them viracid and also spray it all around your pen. This sanitizes the evironment and and takes care of virus, bacteria and protozoa;it's very good.
4.Start looking for customers and ask God for divine direction.
5.Always sanitize their drinking water with Isochlor, but don't vaccinate them with sanitized water.E-coli is a deadly water bourne disease that could kill all your birds if you don't pay close attention to their water.
6.Finally,the Lord is your strenght.I admire your courage. |

Oga abeg, how can small players benefit? Do you need to be a financial analyst before you can gain? emmanuelewumi: Good question, you asked a question which 97% of bank customers will ask.
I suggest you get a book titled"Getting rich with other people's money" by Paul Sarnoff.
Currently have about 10 Treasury bills investments with staggered maturity periods.
I used one of my TB as a collateral for a loan of N1 million in July 2017, interest rate was 25% while the duration is for 1 year. Monthly payment is about 95k for 12 months which will amount to N1.14 million, processing, management fees etc is 30k. At the completion of the loan payment, I would have paid N1.17 million.
I bought Zenith Bank shares with the loan @ N22, UBA shares @ N8.50, Lafarge WAPCO shares at N52.
Now Zenith bank is over N25, UBA is about N10, Lafarge WAPCO is N60.
I am expecting interim dividends from Zenith and UBA in 2 weeks time, final dividends from the 3 companies at the end of this financial year, as the country is getting out of recession I am expecting further capital appreciation.
I am enjoying both worlds of my TB investment that is running and the returns from my further investment in the capital market.
NB. Don't try this if you lack deep knowledge of leveraging and what you want to invest in.
If I liquidate my loan before the 12 months my financing cost will be lower. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Happyfellow147: 7:23am On Jul 25, 2017 |
Good explanation. Please finance gurus should be telling us from time to time where to put our money as the economic situation demands. Thanks awesomeJ: Say you bought 364 day bills of #1,000,000 at 18% discount. Neglecting bank charges, you will be paid an upfront interest of 180k, in which case your actual investment is 820k. You could either profit or lose if you terminate before maturity.
Note if you sell the 1,000,000 tbill and you get credited with less than 1 million, it doesn't necessarily count as a loss, so long adding the upfront interest to the termination proceeds gives more than 1 million, then you've profited.
The only instance when you make a real loss on the investment is when you only hold for just a short while, and on termination, you have to rediscount at a significantly higher rate.
These are 2 possible scenarios:
1. You hold for more time in the tenor-say 200days, and you sell at a discount which is equal to or less than you bought at. The portion of the interest that goes to the new buyer (1,000,0000*164*18)/(365*100)=80,870. This sum will be discounted from the 1,000,000.00 that you should get upon maturity, and so what you get back is 919,130. So considering that you actually put in 820Gs, your profit is 99,130 for the 200-day period. No loss.
2. If you hold the investment for only a short while say 60 days and the new discount that's bidded for your bills is significantly higher-say rates begin rise significantly , and now your buyer wants a discount of 25% The interest accruable to the new buyer =(1,000,000*304*25)/(365*100)=208,000 approx. Now pulling that from the 1,000,000 that you should get leaves you with only 792,000. Given that you originally put in 820,000 you will be making a loss of about 28,000 on the investment. |

My dear, if this had not happened to someone I know, I would have believed the general manager has a hand. The same trick, the same area, during the weekend too just that they didn't drug this person i know. Using bread to stuff ransom and the rest. It was a terrible experience for the guy and all of us his friends and family. We reported but the police were reluctant to act. I weep for my country. Major targets are sales reps and all, asking you to come and supply them your products. nefertitiram: Was the ransom pd?
Your general manager set you up. He should be arrested or you set him up too!
Your brother... Pls no vex o. I also suspect him. Why weren't u kidnapped until u told him about the 2m? |
Family › Re: My Wife Is Pushing Me To The Wall To Start Hitting Her by Happyfellow147: 3:56pm On Jun 18, 2017 |
You are truly reasonable and I wish the op would heed to your advice. By the way, @ op, why are you demanding such respect from your wife? She's your partner not a maid. You should earn your respect not demand it. Violence won't work at all. You should try to be the man she can respect anyday. Work on yourself so she can take you more seriously eyinjuege: Its a pity you feel the only way you can resolve conflict is by violence.
I would advice you to pray and break every generational curse. If you want to get things done right, do it yourself. That's an old saying, that works. If you feel she can't deliver your errands properly, then do them yourself. Most arguments are avoidable. She asked for 300K. Simply say you don't have, and you're still trying to look for money for your rent. Afterward, just press the ignore button. Choose selective deafness.
The day you lay your hands upon your wife, that's the day your marriage in the true sense of the word will die. She will owe you no allegiance again. One thing most men don't realise is, most women hardly ever truly forgive. They may pretend to, they may even act all docile but are patiently waiting for the perfect time to strike back. The perfect time may not be 6months, some can even wait decades to pay back a 'debt'. There is always a peaceful way to resolve issues most time. As per the spicy food, people make and sell stews/soups on NL. All looking delicious. Go to the food section. Tell them your requirements about the pepper, and I'm sure they would oblige you. Keep your own soup separate, and let your wife know this is how soup suitable for you should taste. Its not a fight or quarrel. In fact invite her to partake of the soup. Just always have a backup in your freezer for days when the pepper gets too much. There are times when you don't get it perfectly right when cooking, it shouldn't really be a big deal. Its just food btw |
