Also can I combine my naira and pounds account for proof of funds? I currently live in the UK. Also what’s the exchange rate portal they use for conversion? It was Oanda for the UK.

Did she tell u about the 100k drugs before u made the deposit? If no, u hav an edge here, request for a refund on the basis that you can't afford the extra charges she's coming up with If she cannot stick to the earlier agreement. How old is ur wife? Where are u based? If u can travel to Abuja n use Primecare? his ivf is about 1m drugs inclusive. Its just test n registration you will pay aside d ivf fees. If u calculate ur flight plus accommodation am sure u won't spend more than 600k extra so look in that direction to save cost. But hav it at the back of your mind that ivf success rate anywhere in d world is 50/50. What is ur diagnosis to start with? Are her tubes open? How long have u been trying? It is well Bro, don't take it too hard on yoursef. The fact that u are supporting your wife this much, by His grace ur first attempt will yield good fruits but try to clear any pending medical issue before commencing the ivf to increase ur chances. I'm reading all these immigration policy proposals and I'm honestly anxious.
It's just like telling people to go back home without saying it expressly.
Students that came in this September are finding it really difficult to even get into care work with the 6 months UK experience requirement. How then do they even have hope of the care COS if they can't get a job in the sector?
Please if anyone can help a dear friend schooling in Sheffield to get into care as a student, please help me before this person falls into depression |

Thank you so much customstreet: Advise
Find a new stockbroking firm to move your account there as NISL is inactive and the owner is late. It is very simple. To do that
1. Identify a new house 2. Get your CSCS statement 3. Get indemnity letter from bank to CSCS 4. Get either of share purchase contract note from NISL in the past or any dividend warrants u have collected in the past 5. Means of Identification 6. Utility bill 7. Passport photograph 8. Written letter address to CSCS of your intention to move to the new house
Get all these and give to your new stockbroker to process with CSCS on your behalf. If CSCS is satisfied with your documentations, your account shall be moved to the new house |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Happyfellow147: 12:21am On Nov 26, 2023 |
Thank you so much emmasoft: First, contact the SEC and ask about the firm in question if it's a case of suspension/licence withdrawal or any other infractions
If it's a case of suspension that may have a timeline and they will resume trading once the suspension is lifted. If it's a case of licence withdrawal it means there may not be hope of coming back though that depends on the reason for the withdrawal.
In the first case, you will need to open another stock/cscs account with another firm and continue your trading/investing while waiting for the suspension to be lifted then you can tell your new stockbroking firm to initiate an inter-hose member transfer and move all your holdings.
If it's the second case, you don't need to wait, after you open another account with a new firm, start the process of moving your stocks from the dead firm.
To open a stock account with Investment One, click the 3rd link on my signature and complete the online form. Account opening is free. You can chat me up if you need further assistance. See the numbers on my signature. |

Thank you so much for your kind response The scene I painted was long ago and happened twice. I’m just an over thinker sha hayesconcept: For the council tax. You’re not supposed to pay a dime. Email this message to your council and they will grant you full exemption:
On this, I helped draft the email below and so far, I have had 100% success rate from people I shared with. Let the student send this to the council ccing the partner.
Good evening, My name is xx, a full-time international student at xx University and my partner's name is xx. I reside at xx. I had initially requested a council tax exemption as a full-time student but was told my partner is a liable party for council tax because he is not a full-time student. We received the attached bill to this effect for the period xx 2022 - xx 2023 wherein it was split into xx equal installments.
However, Article 3 of the council tax (Exempt Dwellings) Order, SI 1992/558 provides that 'A dwelling is exempt from council tax if it falls within any of the following Class N: a dwelling which is either: (a) occupied by one or more residents all of whom are relevant persons; (b) occupied only by one or more relevant persons as term time accommodation.
A relevant person means: (i) a student; (ii) a student's spouse or dependant being in each case a person who is not a British citizen and who is prevented, by the terms of his leave to enter or remain in the UK, from taking paid employment or from claiming benefits or (iii) a person to whom Class C (school or college leavers) of regulation 3(1) of the council tax (Additional Provision for Discount Disregards) Regulation 1992 applies.
From the foregoing, please note that I belong to category a(i) I am a student and my partner belongs to category a(ii) he is the spouse of a student. We are both non-British citizens and his visa prevents him from claiming benefits. Subsequently, we qualify for the 100% council tax exemption.
Furthermore, please see below links citing cases whereby 100% exemptions were granted to student dependants by the Court: https://www.casemine.com/judgement/uk/5a8ff72860d03e7f57ea8dcf/amp https://www.lawgazette.co.uk/law/local-government/65852.article

Hello everyone,
I got a letter from the council for council tax and I’m wondering if people pay as high as £188 each month as council tax. I was living in a serviced apartment with bills included so this is my first contact with bills. Also as a student, I learnt I should either be exempted or pay a reduced rate. My husband is working fully though. What next steps can I take?
My second concern is the letter that was shared some days back about overworking. I registered with two agencies and because shifts are not that stable, I can get one shift from each agency per week. I’m aggregate, it’s two shifts per week but both are 12 hours shift. I have been concerned that this does not affect my PSWP application. Can anyone share their thoughts

Travel › Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Happyfellow147: 12:53pm On Aug 13, 2023 |
I love your outlook towards this whole thing. I’m a chartered accountant from Nigeria, came on student’s visa. Really have no intention of getting care COS except as a last resort. I’m really hoping to get a job in the four months after school before students visa expires and I have to pay for PSW. However, PSW is an option too. My husband currently works in care. I don’t want him to get stuck there. Meanwhile, where you de see £17/hr shift? Give your sister connect na Schoolhike: Sincerely not telling you what to do,
I think you still have much time to spend on your current visa, you could try get job related to your career path without cos and get your Uk experience, even 4months Uk experience will do.m you to keep going.
Moving from a COS to another COS ain’t that easy, most especially say moving from a care cos to another skilled visa, some employers now even require you to work with them for some time before issuing COS.
Sincerely the care job is not that easy, I did it for a year and I can tell you it ain’t easy, I was making lots of money in it with an average pay of 17£/hr through out the 1 year, although I was happy that I was making money from it at first but at a point I got stressed out and even seeing shift of 15-20£/hr doesn’t motivate me, I just got tired, basically work mostly with NHS and some other time in care home, did domiciliary for one week I ran away cos it doesnt sit well in my mind to be using part of my salary to repair the car as a result of heavy usage because the one last thing you wouldn’t want you to happen is your car getting spoilt and you having the need to go to mechanic, I don’t think I’ve ever visited the mechanic without spending a minimum of 100£ for just a visit which is almost like a day pay after tax)
If you have the means to pursue another job, sincerely go for it, (just assume in your mind that say there is not CARE sponsorship won’t I pursue something else)
Sincerely I’m not berating the job, but it’s really tiring at a point. But if that’s the only option you’ve got to keep bills going then go for it but not for sponsorship(if you’ve got other means), maybe just to make your money and have the flexibility to look for jobs.
Another thing that I learnt was that getting ILR by taking up care COS does not mean you won’t work anymore or work less as a result of having settled visa in this Uk with lots of recurring bills, my experience having worked with lots of people across different places, I discovered that people still get stuck in a particular job even people that are settled already.
(NB: please note that I’m only saying this only for people who have got other options and you your self knows this in your mind)
Just take it as a last resort maybe when there is no other means as I do believe in my own opinion that having a care COS is better that being sent back to 9ja.
Lots of people are taking care COS because of different circumstances which are valid (like family of 5 paying for IHS and visa which is very expensive but had to take the care COS or like people that have issue with school and some other reasons, or people trying to leave 9ja via the care route).
Sincerely, in my opinion if you’ve got options other than the care visa try to explore it.
We don’t need to be too scared if the current company don’t have sponsorship in as much as you still have a longer validity on the visa. We have seen people here give testimonies about their coy registering for sponsorship because the company don’t want to loose them, I have a personal friend that was sponsored infact his coy pay for his visa and IHS no refund after paying to get sponsorship licence.
Wish us all success. |

Thanks RealBae: `Hello I will advise you to 1, Write IELTS, study hard and get at least 7 in all band. Apply for assessment, CPA Australia assess accountants, get your assessment done and target NSW 190 and 491. Especially 491. NSW is giving 491 invitation now to offshore applicants. 2. Target employers that can offer you sponsorship. Accountants are getting jobs in Aussie now
You can get PR, start with English and once you get it done and do your assessment, you are one step to your PR dream
Good luck |

Thank you very much tunlex01: Couple of options: Take your time to get internship or job in your fields while you are in UK, this is very key. You could use that to get an employer sponsorship visa
Apply for skill assessment and hope that a state will nominate. You may also get the federal nomination. There is already consultation to increase migration intake in July to about 400k and this may mean more nominations. So whoever is prepared will get to be taken. |

Hello everyone,
Please pathway what do you advice I take for Australian PR? I'm a chartered accountant, worked for 7+ years and currently studying for MSc in Finance in the UK, would be done by the end of the year. Hubby is a lawyer, he has less than 1 year of legal practice experience but is doing care work here in the UK. I'm also doing care work here as well and in addition to my Finance background, I'm taking courses in data analytics. My age range is 30-35.
With my experience in the UK, I really don't want to go to any country via study route except it's my last option. Can I get PR to Australia? Can anyone help with guidance? |
