Two things I fear for the prison most: plundering of ya azz and brutal beat down by tatooed gang robbers. Are lady prisoners that bad too? |
Op, you are dead right, but my question is, does customary marriage preclude the writing of wills and codicils? And given its ambulatory nature, does that manner of marriage nullify the death wish of the testator. |
Just sad. Why murder these patriotic men? I am just tired of this rubbish, why don't they even resign en masse and let BH overrun the North once and for all times so that they can have the north of their dream. |
temigracie: one of d reason y i dont mention names in d acknowldgnt page......d best thing to do is to just generalise it.....makes evryone feel happy so far as u consider ursef as my friend.....back to d issue, dats just so unfair of him...for him mention his fwends name..he shud at least dedicate a line for u too....In my project wriiten as a partial fulfillment of my first degree, i even mentioned thus...'to the woman whom we both don't know it yet will mean a lot to me in my life.....or something to that effect I had no girl friend then let alone a wife to be... My point is, that guy here should have found a way of mentioning the OP even if negatively |
lakhadimar: This report is a lie from the defence HQ the same way they initially lied that they'v rescued the abducted chibok girls.your source sir? |
Accidents don't happen, they are caused. Nobody has noted the fact that the deceased was reported to have been driving carelessly. I am certain other vehicles had passed the same spot without ramming the parked truck. I personally drive that stretch all the way from Lagos through to Aba and in at least one instance in a year I go as far as Calabar, so I believe that with concentration and carefulness, you don't only not get into an accident, you manage other careless drivers on the road. I sympathize with the bereaved, as for the deceased, too bad. |
ghostwritter: the only way to prevent me from cheating is to pull off my cloths and take away my phone....my class mates call me guru but I just laugh at them.u try. there is no known way of stopping me. the harder the method, the more ingenous i become, ask professor umezuruike of the international law fame |
Dem say make head no turn? the approach only works against side views. Abeg girrafing things sure pass jo |
okparaugo: Guys have you ever been out on a date with a lady for the first time and she said to you, " I can't come to your house, rather take me to a hotel " ?She is being careful that you don't use her for a ritual. She might get used to you and agree to come home in due time but for the meantime, take her to a hotel, it pays both parties. Smart girl that. |
purplesummer: I enjoyed the story. It should have a part 2typical lady, stories that touch the heart...... so how is that my problem or even our problem here on NL. See where Dem dey for New Zealand and me here for Lagos, Nigeria, struggling nit to bath with salty water to avoid Ebola, while for them na love in Tuscana be their problem. Ok na.... |
Bolt3: The origin of the word is difficult to ascertain, some people believe the name is coined from the Yoruba translation of "peeled skin" or "skinless" which in Yoruba translates to "yin" - scratch "bo" - off/peel. In Igbo language demonym takes the form " onye + the place of origin" of the person, hence, and Igbo person is called " Onye Igbo". A Yoruba person is called " Onye Yoruba". A German is "onye Germany". Thus the first white people were called "onye ocha" for singular and "ndi ocha" for plural meaning "white person and white people" respectively. This was because the Igbo people of those days did not know from where the white people came. Interaction between the Igbos and the white people resulted in the white people trying to refer to the Igbos with a name similar to what the Igbos called them, but there was problem in pronouncing Igbo words due to presence of double lettered alphabets which involve nasal pronunciation,in some of the consonants such as 'ch', 'gb', 'gh', 'gw', 'kp', 'kw', 'nw', 'ny', 'sh'. These were not present in English language hence the difficulty in the white man's effort in giving the Igbos similar demonym as the Igbo people had given to him, instead a name resulting from a mutilation of Igbo words was produced "Oyi ibo' instead of " onyi igbo' meaning 'Igbo person' just as he 'the white man' was called ' onye ocha' meaning 'white person'. It was this 'oyi ibo' that the Igbos later started referring to as 'white person' in a way of mocking the white man for his inability in saying "Onye Igbo". This would later be adopted by other Southern Nigerian tribes as the standard name for the white man and coupled with dialect variance one obtains different pronunciations such as "Oyinbo' in Yoruba and other western Nigerian tribes. Also, 'Oyibo' means English Language in Igbo. In general usage it may refer to individuals with various skin complaints such as vitiligo or genetic conditions such as albinism.I am sorry but I am not convinced. You need to explain this more to make sense to me and I need additional proof and not speculation. |
SlyIg: Ami mba ke ufok nwed idaha emi ke Anambra.ofon nne. Song idem. AMA nie ifet afo okot mi ke fon. Ami nkekwure ke unical. Eka mi Edi efik ete mi Edi unenge inokon. |
babystathopoulos: You couldn't stand cardava hmmmDead right. I was shy to admit it, but now you know, I couldn't and still can't stand the sight of blood, except mine. your name sounds Greek, are you? |
balamz: o boy no be lie, your whole family. Record breakers. Insults NO intended. And you wanna lose sleep over that? Shows at least one thing....we are a literate family. How many of your folks can read and write? No insults intended just asking.... |
babystathopoulos: thumbs up to you then, please are you a doctor? No dear. At least not in that sense. i concluded pre-med before veering off into a different profession. I could not stand cardava. |
YoursGEJ: Somebody don confess on Nairaland already and it is on FP so FG should start with him firstHer name is Adesewa....FUTA Hostel, Jibowu But she has apologised |
iamSi: Manipulations , I don't have any ... But Mr. Adult its rather disappointing, you just answered like you have no brains. Have a goodnight ... "Insults not intend" just like that youth corpBros, take a chill pill. Sorry if you felt bad, i don't mind the fact you called me names, i hope we are still good. We have been relating well until now. Do have a wonderful night's rest. And yes, i may have no brains after all. i am using my neighbours'. i refuse to get upset, its a friday night. |
babystathopoulos: Most of you here coming to rant here..hehehe helped spread the crazy salt therapy. Infact most peo had bath with warm water with salt this morning..I only read the story this morning when i checked 'Trending' on NL. I got into Lagos yesterday night fagged out having been driven to Uyo from Calabar to fly Dana back to Lagos as there was no aero flight (calabar and Uyo) and Arik had canceled a flight the day before and could jolly well be planning to cancel its only flight yesterday. However, when i read the story this morning, i sent over 80 text messages and also sent BB broadcast to friends and colleagues because i know the dangers associated with that 'therapy'. I believe i have done my best even as i still send messages up to this night. |
deletrue: But, ebola na different ways he dey make people dey misbehave? See grammar!I give up........... Yes, On you.......... |
SlyIg: Ofon!mma ndi uyo mkpong...nkebe do nyong ndi Lagos. Ekpedi ama teme mi itie nte abade, mkpa uyom fien. |
iamSi: Your Dad is on Nairaland?Yes. Its not a forum for just kids like you, adults also come in to pick quick news and information and when necessary, they also contribute. Even my mum and my elder brother are here on NL. Do you have another question? |
iamSi: Please help me tell them ... You sound more matured and reasonable . You must be in your early 60s hmmmm. E ku agba, e o ni ku fun wa oooo . These Youth Corpers in their early 20s yet to get a job with their Certs knows too much please help link them up too. They get busy in matters that has nothing to do with themLOL, early 60s? You have started mistaking me again for my Dad. He begat me at a very tender age, hence the similarity, LOL |
Flango: When u fail to study ur books, even something as simple as one plus one will continue to affect you.Did you just write, 'no insults intend....? is that english language? Did you mean to write, 'No insults intended'? Just asking |
Chinum: This could be invaluable if you always encounter difficulties differentiating between "BEEN AND BEING?"l can also relate to that.I have become tired of correcting that anomaly and honestly it cuts across the educated and the high and mighty especially in corporate circles. I daresay, a particular tribal region in this country appear more culpable in the wrong usage. Learning is an endless journey. God will keep helping us. While i do not have the basic english rules as to why each should be used and not the other, i am aware that 'been' appears a lot more in the past. eg. I have been there, he has been there, etc while being is more of present continuous except when used as a superior 'being'... |
Pita99: . Omo they should be state of emergency on ur grammar? The grammar you are castigating is irreprehensible and impeccable. Look up all the words used and you will understand. Do not be fast in picking out errors, the joke might be on you. Acidosis was right, you displayed flagrant ignorance. |
DRealGeesam1: What is it with you? Have you never played any prank on your friends before?Lol, you even want to beat up some people, Babe you sef dey vex oooo Calm down small and collect a few bashings, that should more than compensate for the angst people feel about the cruel joke. Meanwhile stop hitting back. |
DRealGeesam1: So i should have just kept quiet abi.Babe see i appreciate the maturity in coming out clean, but do not expect that people will not hit at you no matter how small. You really do not have a right in this instance to get angry at people hitting out at you, take it with equanimity as a price to pay for that 'thoughtlessness', it will come and go and you will be fine again. Do not create and sustain enemies by talking back or cursing back, it won't help the emotions of those who already feel fooled. Lastly, i hope that this does not escalate to the point where the security apparatus will be involved, you have given out too much information about yourself such that your arrest, if intended, will happen under 10 minutes. It is not only students and jobless people that come to NL. Using myself as an example, many Nigerians who belong to the middle/high echelon of society come in for quick information and updates. Just be careful, I am writing as a friend. |
I don't know what to make of this. I like Keshi as a person, but he is not tactically disciplined, cant read a match and can hardly effect changes that change the coloration of any game. He had better decide what to do with ik uche and also consider bringing in kelechi iheanacho. He should nit drop mba again for whatever reason. Meanwhile that boy called mikel obi should henceforth only play from the bench. |
Alishachris: when you are meant to be together, no amount of emotional infidelity can stop that. i believe in fate. Peaceyou know not what is being discussed |
OK then, I should die of starvation ba? People die everyday and not all die from cancer complications. I will try and avoid what i can, but that is all there is to it. A guy will die of something someday anyways. A day will come when they will tell us that cigarette smoking is healthful to your lungs especially if you do not smoke more than two sticks a day. This sphere is evolving and some items on publication should be taken with a pinch of salt. |
Happy buffday. Have a blast.... |
SirShymex: Git, can't you see your caption is utterly disrespectful? Shut ya gob, prick. You construct good english....stupidly. Datzall..... I dont speak politics, so i am not joining issues with you people on your Nigerian politics... |
