There was this girl I was chasing when I was younger. Ahh! memories.
Anyway, any time I smile at this girl, she go bone face. So I went to a juju man and the juju man did his thing, gave me a padlock, told me to walk up to the girl next time I see her, speak to her and as soon as she responds I should lock the padlock and at that moment the girl would be mine and I'll have total control over her until I unlock the padlock.

Well it happened and I was awed. One week after speaking with her, we were together in a hotel room.

Anyway, it turned out that I didn't really need any juju to get the girl in the first place. The reason the girl dey throway face to me was because she was very shy. She had been dying for me even before I noticed her. All I needed to do was pick up courage and speak to her.

So speaking with authority works. And works doubly with women.

I can agree with you that people belief play a part in getting healed sometimes . Even medically . But that's not bible miracle . Infirmity comes from several sources . Natural , medical , spiritual ,demonic etc. and there are several ways by which healing and miracles take place

But what I know is the example I gave above does not give a different result from christ based healings. It is all about setting up the right conditions. And they both give the same frequency of results. What would have made christ based healings real would be to have 10 verified blind men get healed at once, get amputees growing back limbs after prayers etc. There are no miracles in any church or anywhere that is really beyond ordinary.

It could work tho. If I suggest something to you authoritatively, your mind could respond to it. That is how hypnotism works.
If that pastor says that same thing to 10 people at least 2 peoples minds will respond and make them have the dream.

Healings can come miraculously thru several mean. You can use the name of anything. If today I claim that the water coming out from my tap is healing water and people believe in it. All I need is enough people to take the water and at the end call for testimonies. Be sure that you will hear lots of testimonies.
You just have to make your premise something people can believe in absolutely even if it is based a a big fat lie. It does not matter. Then have a wide spectrum of people put their faith in it.

If I have 1000 sick people. Have various degrees of infamity drink the fake healing water. I am sure we will get about the same number of testimonies as having 1000 people let pastor chris pray for them.

It still works for me.
I trick people close to me into getting healed. Could tell them to drink water and convince them it is no ordinary water. Or make vegetable concoction soup and claim it is medicinal and you see people getting back to their feet in no time. Depends on how convincing you are and how their body responds to the illness. It does not always work just the way prayer in jesus name does not always work. Success rate is about the same frequency.

@op , I had wanted to make post for 3 days but was denied by the site. No one can judge you because you spoke from the depth of your heart . You said mind blowing things which got my attention . And this is the matter . Few years ago pastor chris asked a question about personal conviction of christ and he said "what if all the great men of God you believe in come out together and say " we have discovered we have been deceived ,the bible is a book of fairy .there is nothing like heaven or hell.etc . He asked what will you do?

I remember Pastor E.A Adeboye asking the same question some years ago when I was young and I can still vividly see myself saying I will NEVER deny christ. Well here I am saying christ is all rubbish. And I say it with full sense of responsibility.
My experience as a christian makes this sort of question funny because, this is a deep emotional question where people reaffirm their determination to serve christ. But the funny thing is, it is stupidity. If pastor christ should turn back from being a christian to what ever, and you don't begin to question the faith you learnt from him, them you are nothing but a zombie.

I will appreciate if you can explain few things to me . Because this is of great concern . Now you said in your posts that the miracles were real. If there's no God ,then by what means we're those prophecies and words of knowledge coming ?

They all have simple reasons why they work and has nothing to do with holy spirit or god or angels or whatever spiritual being.

Even if u say "God does not exist" they will think they are as wise as Solomon (I am yet to know how Solomon is wise) when they ask "for u to mention God when saying he does not exist means u believe he exist" WTF.

Hi OP...I have read your stories, I felt compelled to tell you mine and also pray for you....I'm at work, so I can't write much.

I was born into a very divided religious and polygamous home...my dad a Catholic..mom, a baptist and step moms who were traditionalist and all that made me confused. I jumped around a lot...from the Catholic church cos it was full of dogmas and I could deal with the Mary thing. The traditional worship...spent a great time there cos it was everywhere around me...left cos I realized I was missing something. The baptist church was OK...it did answer some of my questioned but still..not satisfied. I was introduced to Pentecostalism by my elder sister...I couldn't grasp what it was all about...so I pulled out.

I was introduced to atheism in high school and became one...I was for a long while but still within me, I knew there was more to life than meets the eye. I had lots of mails from all around the world...I did study like a mad boy. The post were weary of my daily collection of foreign mails...books and tapes...in the 80s. I read it all, esoteric... Christian Scientology.... Eastern religion and even cultic. I remember having too much and started using them, including bibles as toiletries.

I relocated to Lagos...began to hussle for my daily bread. On this very day coming from boundary market in a molue bus...I had an encounter. There was this man preaching...(I hate preachers by the way. My friends and I would go to the Pentecostal church in my home town and abuse them while I was an atheist. We would throw stones on their roof and scorn them at the door. I did argued and fought high school preachers...my friends from the schools science club regarded me as the king of atheist and Scientology.)...he did code mixed English and Yoruba(a language I didn't understand)... My blank mind opted to question him...but an overwhelming power I couldn't fanthom took over me. I didn't understand all he said but I knew...I was a sinner in need of Christ...I cried in that bus...it was like the biblical Saul experience... I can't share it all for time...but I knelt in that molue bus and cried out my heart to God...accepted Jesus into my heart...it's been almost 3 decades now. I have always been grateful for that day.

I went to higher institution...graduated, work for over a decade in Nigeria before relocating to the US. Started planting churches, running crusades, been to nations courtesy of professional career but used it all as an opportunity to reach out to people of all creed on the love of God... for 24years now...yet the best days are ahead of me in my work with God.

I got home from that experience in the molue bus not knowing what to do with myself...I couldn't talk to any Christian around me...they saw me as the devil. I remember this former Muslim lady who got converted and would minister to me...I dealt her wrong, but still loved coming to me...I got ready by 5pm the next and waited for her to walk pass my house on her way to church(she never failed). On sight of her, I followed her behind about two pole long. She went in this church like after 20 min of trekking... I got in too...it was full of bunch of young men and ladies worshiping with lifted hands...that started my journey.

I got baptized in the Holy Spirit after two week...awesome.

I did meet other atheist in higher institutions, at work and many more during my MBA days in Nigeria. A lot of them are born again now and even preaching...

OP...spiritual things are not ABC or mathematical permutations... When Jesus reveals himself to you, He becomes real to you.

I love you...I won't argue with you, cos no one finds Christ through argument. I believe you will rise beyond this level, find the love of God and do great exploit again...but remember this...you can be so busy doing the work of God and don't know the God of the work.

I can still pray for you and it would work IF you don't know I am an atheist.
Praying helps people thru pains. It is a way of showing good will.
It is also a way of giving hope to people.

Miraculous healings can happen if you can trick the body. (Not gonna talk too much about this now). But sort of like the placebo effect.

Speaking in tongues is no biggie. Just let your mind loose and say whatever comes to your mind.

Suffering is natural if you remove god from the equation. I have no problem with sufferings in the world. I have problem with the claim that there is a god that is all loving all powerful blah blah blah...

We should take responsibility as humans for the sufferings we inflict on each other thru wars, selfishness and inconsideration.

We should take natural disasters as natural disasters not act of god or the devil or because adam sinned.

Suffering is inevitable for now.

They are still real to me. I don't disbelief in any of them, I believe in the power of prayers, I believe in healings and I believe in speaking in tongues.

All very good messages not unique to christianity. The core gospel is that god so loved the world that he sent his son jesus to die for the sins of the world. That is the lie.
The bible teaches a lot of principles but all claims about god are the lies (since god does not exist)

we can learn core values that would make the society organized and lawful from all cultures. The yoruba culture has a lot of good values so does the chinese and so on. So we can keep the good values therein just like we keep that of other cultures around the world

1. Are you now truly an atheist or you just demoted yourself to being less than a Christian? I ask because you keep sounding like you know there's a God but you don't trust Him because of something He did (or didn't do). Please clarify.

God as we think does not exist. So I am an atheist. I absolutely, compLetely believe god does not exist. If you call what ever caused existence god, then no problem.

2. You said there is so much suffering in the world and God didn't have the answers to it if He really existed. My brother, since becoming an atheist, by how much have you reduced this suffering in the world?

WOW! I feel so honored. You are actually equating me with God? Wow!!!
I wish I have the powers people claim god has, then this question would have been appropriate. So ask a more realistic question.

3. Has your new found faith revealed all the TRUTH about life to you?

I have no new found faith. It is impossible to have ALL the truths to life. But in the main time I have gotten rid of some LIEs I used to believe in and now I can focus on being honest with myself.

4. You also said the GREAT COMMISSION was a scam. (Mind you, God didn't put the burden on Christ to round the world to preach or save all men. Neither did Christ put it on any one disciple to reach the ends of the world with the gospel. Christ's part finished on the cross and the disciples were commanded to make disciples and teach them to do the same thing.) Since you claim you have found the truth, why now don't you want to spread the truth and save humanity, because in an earlier post you preferred you were few that knew the truth?

some lies are necessary and christianity gives a sense of hope. So it's better many keep living in that false security.

Good, just wanted to confirm that you indeed recall that the supernatural(not natural) is real. Malaria kills millions of peple in africa every year, so it's profitable and good to hear an atheist affirm that these can be cured using supernatural means.
Like i've already said, you painted the picture like you case is a discovery and eye opener. That christians are christians because they have not asked questions or began to think. Good to hear/read you say that is not true. People have always asked questions and thought since time immemorial. Many people have being convinced to different sides to the divide based on reasoning too. It is not only atheistic convewrsions that employ reasoning. Paul reasoned with people several times, some were converted, some were not. People make choices based on reasoning and logic, some make their choices and decisions based on emotion. That is the way life is. It is not the exclusive preserve of atheism. i have seen many cases of people who are still christian and know that their efforts could never have gotten them to where they were today. Christianity does not say that efforts don't matter, actually faith without efforts is dead.

You desperately sort attention and I gave you attention. Don't be offended that I won't be replying you. Don't want to be insulting so better to not tell you how you sound.

The main problem of sci-fi novels not working in Nigeria is that Nigerian youths find Sci-fi novels foreign,( as if thrillers and romance novels are local ), as they focus mainly on events/scenarios that occurs in a developed country.

The solution is for the sci-fi writer to introduce some superstitious belief and explain him using deductive reasoning or better still, say it cannot be explained using logic.

Trust me, Nigerians will eat the stuff up.


It will also help if your foreword says something like
" I give thanks to God Almighty........"
