Ayomipoe: It is idiocy for me to exchange my money at the Govt rate when I know that the value that the Govt has pegged it is absurd, worse even if I cannot buy at the supposed rate they are pegged it at, why do I then sell to them at that rate?
help me ask him. Some comments here just tire me. As if i can get the dollar at 440 they are claiming.
Nadingo: 2wks ago, I had $250 in my fidelity bank Dom account so I decided to take advantage of the hike in dollars then to withdraw and sell it to aboki. I went to the only two fidelity bank branches in my state and they both claimed they don't have dollar in cash to give me. I later sha narrated to a friend my ordeal who told me that if I want, he can link me with a staff in one of the same Fidelity Bank I was told dollar no dey and that I'll be paid the $250 cash instantly if I'll agree to grease palms. I played along and got my $250 given to me after giving N12k bribe. Smh
haaaa!!! It is finished. How much my own bribe go come be? They should hold the money.
QuoteJustOnce: This is half baked truth. No bank will deny a transfer for the reasons you stated, after all it's electronic money. What if you had opened your online banking app and done the transfer? Will the bank stop and reverse it? You probably did not listen well or you're just spewing false claims. People still withdraw money over the counter
baba are u using wema bank? Abi u want me to send u screenshot? Wema dollar card had been down for over 2 weeks now. I have to go to the bank for transactions and right now they are saying they cannot do it. And no withdrawal over the counter. Abeg dont tell me about a problem i am passing through. I just want to know if other banks have this problem i dont need you to tell me what my own bank is doing.
telim: the issue is from your bank. I sent about 250 usd to dedipath and digital ocean to clear pending server payment and the transaction was smooth without any issue.
gloryhomemaker: This is a quick meal idea on how to cook healthy vegetables egg sauce and boiled unripe plantains. This meal is so healthy and contains most of the nutrients you will need for a healthy living.
Ddworld: That is laughable. Highly ridiculous. I can still tell you that; it is either your branch has an issue or something is wrong with Wema bank. Why won't they give you access to your account. Try to make an official report. If the branch said they don't have USD, that is acceptable but also denying you transfer is highly ridiculous.
Try to find an importer that needs USD, agree terms wity each other and then submit form m
that is why i opened this thread to know if it is just the branch, bank or every bank. Thanks for the tip
Ddworld: You should be able to withdraw or transfer. Possibly maybe wema bank has issues. So, what did they expect you to do with the money? Are they forcing you to sell at NIFEX rate or dash them? Atleast there should be an option unless your account has issues
my account has no issues. No one was being attended to on the fx section. They said till further notice order from above
Tokskob2008: This government is so messed up and every of their policies has always been in line to exterminate the common man. Right from closing up the borders which lead to an unimaginable hunger all round to realising terrorist back into the society which lead to worsening insecurity to numerous financial jargons.
You send money to an account the sender pay charges while you as the recipient also pay, all of a sudden they stopped direct international transfers to local accounts saying you have to go and get your dollars by hand and now they are saying you can't get the Dollar again so what do they expect people to do now
they know what they are doing. Some interests are being served
Mrkumareze: That's naija for you. They don't have good plans for us. As it stands, people ll find another illegal means to be repatriating their money. We all know the impact in our economy..
they are only going to encourage illegal fx trading. Nonsense
I went to a Wema bank branch yesterday to withdraw from my Domicillary account, but i was told they have stopped giving dollars. I wanted to make transfer and they said that was also impossible.
Who else is facing this challenge?
Note i still was able to withdraw last week. Could this be from CBN?
joyandfaith: I thought atheists are more reasonable and intelligent than religious people. You cannot even present counter arguments. Smh!!!
the protest are not because of one single incident. It is because it has become a practice that has been repeated over and over again and the government was not addressing it. You dont need to be a genius to know this. The fact you cant figure that out says a lot about you.
The problem with iran starts with their religion. Their government is based on the religion Their laws are based on their religion The atrocities of the police are OK based on the religion just as hisbah police operates under similar laws in kano. The problem is those religious or islamic laws do not meet up with this era and the old religious leaders are not ready to face the truth.
So you are talking rubbish if you say it has nothing to do with islam
In the USA, which Iran hates, four policemen put a man by the name of George floyd in a position where he died. (Now, I am not here to retry the case, or determine who was evil...so don't disturb me). All the policemen were arrested, and jailed. Yes there were protests, but at the end, no one called for the US government to be removed from power.
Iran, a girl is arrested for breaking the law. (Note: I am not here to discuss whether Hijab is right or wrong. or do the usual discussion on Islam). The cops in essence beat her to death. Beating her to death was not part of their job...they should have arrested, processed her, got her to court and done the usual sentencing. Instead, one of the cops decided to play tough guy, and hit her badly.
What the Iranian government should have done is simple. Investigate, arrest the cops involved, sack some people , make the people directly involved undergo some punishment, and who knows, they would have been hailed today. Yes, some protests, but not to the extent where they are calling for the government to be removed.
But no, they instead tried to cover it up. As a result...a lot of angry people, and mass protests. Yes they will fizzle out. But that;s another reservioir of anger for tomorrow.
The problem with Iran is not their religon, or the fact that they have restrictive laws on women. It is the fact that at the end, when injustice is done by the people supposed to enforce it, there is a cover up, and no one gets punished. As a result people get angry.
In the USA...for many years , people were subjected to police brutality..especially blacks. When the anger exploded in the 1964-68 period...where whole parts of cities burned and burned...that's when the government sat up and started implementing changes. Of course it did not change overnight...but today, be a Arrow as a law enforcement officer...and you get punished.
The Iranian government could have avoided this by putting the guy who hit Masha on trial, and either suspending or sacking him from work . Instead they tried the coverup game. The more they do not sort out things like this, the more they set unnecessary problems for themselves.
sense is far from u. Trying to sound smart but ******

Tobdek: I'm an atheist. Something strange happened to me today and I can't stop thinking about it.
Someone mistakenly sent me airtime this morning. He called me to resend it because he wanted to send it to his father. A while later, he called me to thank me and gave the phone to his father who thanked me profusely and prayed for me. His father told me that he was an ifa priest from Ile ife.He told me to go and buy pure water and call him back in exactly three minutes. I decided not to but I was curious to hear what he wanted to say.
I called him and to my surprise, this man told me my surname! It felt so strange. He told me to ask for three things I want. He asked me if I had gotten the pure water, I told him no and he said I should go and buy it and call him back. I don't know if he's a scammer or a real priest. This has never happened to me before.

supporting peter obi does not mean we should be stupid. Yes tinumbu is a scammer and i can never support him, but at least can we be honest that Peter obi is a liar too? Why must his lies and faults be covered but that of other candidates hammered on? Haba let us try to be honest once a while.
Obi claim Peter Odili was his senior boy In school
*How exactly is a 6 year old in Secondary school, to have a senior boy as Peter Obi in senior class form 5 or SS3?!
* He also used the pronoun "We couldn't have played"
Question remains how does a 6 years old in primary knows Odili a senior boy and graduating student of SS3 to use we as a personal pronoun
This is why SouthEast have ridiculous Governors since 1999, from drunkard like Obiano, to Statue molder like Okorocha, to Hopeless Uzodingba, to Kerosene Ikpeazu, to chronic lair Obeer
