What’s this fuss about Fashola?

GOVERNOR Babatunde Fashola’s model of Lagos, the mega-city in the making is miniature Nigeria and the only haven where all and sundry, even beggars run to for respite. Lagos does not belong to the Yoruba, or to Muslims, or to Christians, or to the Action Congress (AC).
The present members of the Lagos State House of Assembly are the least qualified by any standard whatsoever to represent the greatly endowed and sophisticated Lagos State. Lagos State is, therefore, most unfortunate to have the present crowd of “Honourables” who are unable to read the times. They are the product of the Nigerian ingenuity in notorious political elections rigging and fraud.

What is the meaning of “investigating Governor Babatunde Fashola of fraud” with the intention of impeaching him and ruining his very bright political career at this material time? Governor Fashola is a Muslim whose testimony of good governance elates the spirit of Nigerians of all faiths and beliefs who had for years suffered under nefarious governance.

Governor Bola Tinubu in injecting Governor Fashola into Lagos politics virtually swore to an oath testifying of the sterling qualities of Fashola. Fashola has superseded the testimonies Tinubu gave. Fashola’s performance as Governor of Lagos Sate so far has shown up Tinubu as a man with the right vision for Lagos and a leader who wants his record maintained and obviously superseded.

Public opinion states loudly that Governor Fashola has more than justified Tinubu’s testimony. AC is daily growing in stature as a dividend accruing to it from Fashola’s enviable performance.

There is only one other governor in Nigeria that doubles with Fashola.He is Governor Mohammed Danjuma Goje of Gombe State in Northern Nigeria. They have both set phenomenal standards that challenge regenerated Christians to dynamically get into partisan politics and surpass their set standards with the introduction of righteous governance for it is written: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked rule, the people mourn” (Proverbs 29:2).

Bravo! Bravo!! So the Action Congress wants us to believe that she epitomises the long sought after holy and innocent political party in Nigeria: Our political maiden virgin who has not been violently raped in the public dustbin by Mr. Corruption.

I see they are very anxious to preserve their sanctimonious virginity. I wish them well and hope that if the military takes over a chaotic Nigeria, military surgeon-gynecologist with their scalpels will find the AC truly a virgin. Let the Lagos AC not inadvertently invite these gun-totting military crude surgeons by angering the ordinary Nigerian folks who are happy and grateful to God and to Tinubu for injecting Governor Fashola into the Nigerian polity. The AC should not provoke the already very aggravated Nigerians.

I have always crusaded against fraud and corruption and this is why I coined the word “Corruptocracy”. Wait for Governor Fashola to end his phenomenal first term and start your investigation aimed at depriving Nigerians of his second term and you be the ones qualified to cast the first stone.
Western Nigeria had an enviable reputation of raising the best among Nigerians but it has now earned for herself the notoriety of being the killers of her best.
They murdered ex-successful governor and legal luminary, Uncle Bola Ige; they murdered youthful and brilliant governornorship aspirant, Engineer Funsho Williams; they have just murdered an aspiring hopeful governorship candidate, Dipo Dina. Northern Nigerians are notorious for killing Southerners and Christians but they never kill their best.

I call on all Nigerians to stay in fervent prayer for divine protection of Governor Fashola of Lagos State, Nigeria and a member of the Action Congress.
I salute all of you on this occasion and for a time like this. I pray that you vividly draw attention of all Nigerians to the brewing fatality that might occur through the threats of Lagos Assembly plot against Governor Fashola.

Action congress or not Fashola is the idol of many lagosians and all their plans to drag him to the mud cannot work in jesus name,carry on baba,turn lagos to a place to be so that we in diaspora can come back to our dear nigeria and our mega city lagos.

Leave them until they succeed in doing what they are planning that is when they will know that Fashola belongs. Let them impeach him, he will join another party and still win Lagos for him to complete the good work he has started. I thank God he has started knowing his enemies who are even working in his cabinet. During Tinubu’s time what he could do was to create Agberos here and there, now that some of those things have been kept to bay, I know some people are not benefiting, the agberos are now hiding, no more street parties, in short, their action against Fashola will prove them wrong.

Fighting Fashola will destroy Action Congress and erode the accolades and widespread national acceptance Tinubu now relishing. No one is talking about Tinubu’s skeletons because his successor is doing great. If AC kills the goose that is laying the golden eggs, that’s it.

I want to thank all the thinking NL posters who have requested that you (Hardtalk and cohorts') produce your better alternative to Fashola. People are not that silly, smear campaigns will not work in this case. What this man is doing is VISIBLE to the eye (remember 1ST term), if the media does not report it, we the people are NOT blind.

No one has said that he is a saint, but he has given hope to a lot of Nigerians that leadership can be used to do the right thing (which is the good thing). At the end of the day, the choice (of what to do with power) is yours to make.

I still do not understand posters on this thread. I am not the writer of this report, neither do I know those behind it. My only mistake for now, is having to post it and my first comment, which I have apologised several times. If I had collect money for this, then, I will not have the face to say all these. I have read through all the argument for and against. The only issue here is that, although, Fashola must have done one or two things which his detractors are now using against him, but he deserve commendation. If amongst 36 governors, he stole (as acussed), but he made people feel at least for now, good governance, what do we do? Where he has defaulted, lets caution him, and please lets make him continue. We can start building better governance, from him. When he is celebrated, others will learn. He is not a saint at all, but he is the best for now!.

This is the main reason why this topic was posted, and not to kill Fashola.

Meanwhile, I still want to apologise for my earlier comment, underneath the topic. I never meant any harm, eventhough it has been interpreted wrongly.

Fashola supporters, I am just an ordinary man on the street, with no ill intention against him.

You see I don't think anyone has anything against what you posted. Infact it is good for information sake. Reading thru your posts gave me the opportunity of having the document on the various allegations being raised by the True Face of Lagos guys. I think why the guys on Fashola's side reacted the way they did was the rider you put after the posting. 'Is fashola indeed a saint?' Anyone reading that smells bias and in law such stance is pre-judicial.

If you have left things at just informing, there won't be this much talks and yabbing.

tpia please let's tone down emotions so that we do not resort to verbal abuses as is being done. We can always learn from each other. We all know how we feel about Fashola but lets apply a modicum of decorum

I apologise, all ye Fashola fans, for how I started with my posts. I never meant any harm. Many years of corruption in our society has made us all to see every Nigeria leader to be corrupt. I love Fashola, but report reaching me is saddening. All ye Fashola fans, I am sorry oh! ( I am on the floor rolling, )

Your post is belated!. The question has been asked and answered by other posters. Read the entire thread, and you will see it. No body hates Fashola, and people are saying the same thing. No saints amongst Nigerian leaders, thats all.

I have read these allegations elsewhere and they are quite shocking to say the least. I am pretty sure they're all politically motivated but that doesnt mean they're not true. I think its a shame that people cant avoid the ''cow herd mentality'' and THINK for once. Fashola's impact has been felt no doubt but that doesnt make him above the law. people replying here should try and face the issues and quit attacking the poster.Its childish, illiterate and plain pointless

My Dear, I hope you can read and write, because even Mr. Tpia knows that I did not go to school. Check the whole report, did you see my name as the reporter? Did EFCC told you, I came to lay complaints to them? What if EFCC has the same report you are reading here? Do you think EFCC are fools? They do not act on dustbin reports dear. I love Fashola, and I pray nothing happens to him. The whole essence of this is that, no Nigerian leader is a saint. It is just that, some are more corrupts than some. We should stop worshipping these people.

What are we getting here? Names calling. If you love someone, try show people his good aspect, and not calling those calling for his head, names. Do not forget that, Lagos still get atleast N6billion from federal allocation monthly, and that makes it N20billion monthly. Just be objective, and still using profane languages here. N20billion might worth nothing, if you look at it from outside the country, but in Nigeria, it is still something. If indeed it was nothing, why are they killing themselves, just to become governor?

We already have multiple capitals. Every state have its own capital and they are suppose to serve as a nerve centre for development. With resources, planning and good governments, the state capitals are suppose to be more devoloped than the federal territory.

Take example of the US. Cities Like LA, NY, Chigago, Atlanta are massive, big, and developed. A city like San Francisco is not even a capital of any state. Individual states are suppose to create wealth, nuture it, and move beyond hand-outs from federal government.

I think Oil is making people Lazy. Now people don't even use their brain to think.

I am happy that, you asked the question and at the same time, answered the question. Our states capitals are glorified villages. One need to see how some of them are? Go to Ibadan and see. Go to Akure, and not to mention all the states capitals in the north. Nothing to write home about.
