personally I think using an expensive jet in the type of low intensity war against Boko Haram is a no brainier, why spend billions on jets and helicopters that will be destroyed easily with a cheap RPG,such hide and seek guerilla war need top notch intelligence and surveillance, that is were UAVs perform most excellent, they are cheap, can stay airborne for 24hrs,they have capacity of covering hundreds of kilometers during day and night using infrared and thermal imaging, sometimes I wonder how this terrorists can move large bodies of men,gun trucks and motorcycles without the army knowing, the derived Savannah of northeastern region gives the army very good advantage it offers less hiding place unlike tropical jungles,it is laughable that they have only two drones to cover a huge theatre like borno state, the airforce supposed to have a brigade dedicated to UAVs with a commander, they must have the hot spots covered 24hrs for enemy movement with surveillance drones and also weaponized drones should be ready to attack and destroy,I marvel at the very brave pilots that will fly those slow propeller powered super tucanos into a warzone bristling with RPGs and anti aircraft cannons,it will be a kamikaze mission.

I for one know we can't afford the f15,16 and co..

Those trainers can go low but propellers! The agusta is a transport copter...

That's why I say the mi jf is very ok

Apart from the MI35 and the JF17, the other aircraft are waste of money.

Why buy transport and trainers

I have said it before, that old abbatoir office is just an extortion centre. You pay money before you enter that compound (#500 per gate and they have 3 gates there totaling #1500).
To see an apprehended suspect, you pay heavily. Gone are the days when they do their work with die diligence, all they are after is their pocket

Change the caption, it's train assembly plant not manufacturing.
If we are to manufacture trains, where will the metal come from when ajaokuta is still moribund?

EKONGKING:
People are crying about subsidy now ,imagine the subsidy ,when crude oil is 150 dollars .
Yet shameless idiots blame goodluck for their misfortune in their lives.

GEJ earned #51tri from crude sale but they won't say how much of that went to pay subsidy.
Even when he increased pump price a little, we saw what he used the money to do(SURE-P) but the vagabonds in power increase and reincreased yet still borrowing with nothing to show
Politics / Re: ₦720 Billion Subsidy Burden Presses Harder As Oil Price Sustains Rally by Harrisonwo(m): 7:52am On Jun 14, 2021
My prayer is for crude to sell above $100, let me see which excuse these idi*ts will give again. Remember they have increased pump price multiple times and also removed subsidy according to them.

To add to the analysis, the previous regimes paid much on subsidies.
The higher the crude price, the higher the subsidy.

Coupled with ECA and low debt et al

If it's true, then RIP to the fallen soldiers.

But truth be told, even with the current security issues going on in the SE. These military guys still set up extortion point on that same onitsha owerri road extorting #100 from commercial drivers using a civilian miscreant under their protection thereby making road users spend time on a simple journey

That's one of the issues I have against our SE leaders. Even if you want to embezzle, at least do a very standard job so nobody will look your way on that said project.
You can't build a substandard structure and when it starts falling apart, you expect people not to ask questions.

That's why I respect the northern leaders, they do standard works that stands the stand of time and still embezzle. Though I in no way support corruption

Politics / Re: VP Osinbajo Wades Into Governors, CBN Dispute Over Budget Facility Repayment by Harrisonwo(m): 8:21am On May 21, 2021
Watch it, if the CBN doesn't shift stance..the governors will support increment of pump price to above #300/l and encourage multiple taxes on their citizens just to make up the allocation.
They have nothing upstairs to think of revenue generation.

If the CBN shifts, the bulk of the money will be paid by the next adminstration since majority of the governors are second term in office thereby leaving the next adminstration with little to use for project implementations and funny enough these same governors will still be the one to call out their successor for their inability to carry out capital projects...

BM resumes normal time.

Some time na 4 or 5 core staff for branch depending on the branch size.
1. Branch manager
2. Head teller
3.Head non teller
4. Head CSO (might be 2 most times)

Rest na contract staff
. That's for operations unit

Those for marketing unit varies.

@op needs to plan his steps quick cos he got probably 2-4yrs left.

He better put the vehicle on HP and gather cash for another. If he can raise up to three vehicles, be can resign and manage one himself because I can bet he is way pass the conversion age required

I have no problem with mounting checkpoints on the road but turning those checkpoints to tollgates and forceful extortion of motorists is a big NO NO.
Since they can't stick to their jobs which is to secure the people, then let them stay off the road for a while.

Note: we have read reported stories of killings of those who refused parting with #50 by policemen here. What of other unreported cases

Politics / Re: ₦98 Billion Oil Pollution Fund Stirs Controversy In Niger Delta Communities by Harrisonwo(m): 12:49pm On May 02, 2021
Latvin:

Simple reason is that many of those in the communities want the money to be shared by a few. They are not interested in the clean up. A proper process was put in place to disburse funds for clean up but the process has been frustrated. Proper internationally recognised and competent companies that won clean up contracts are being frustrated. No right thinking govt will disburse funds that will end up in private pockets. The balance is in an account set aside that no one can touch. Monies will be disbursed once proper processes are adhered to.

Those impacted by the spills were physically compensated after an out of court settlement was agreed with the communities. All they want is cash and more cash. Even areas cleaned up are reimpacted by activities of oil thieves and illegal crude refiners who keep polluting the environment and this does not agitate the minds of the communities enough.

the best way to handle this issue is to do phase by phase clean up. once clean up is properly and completely done, the area will be placed under the community watch. any spill on the land done by vandals, the community takes responsibility and not the IOCs

AFRICOM, with headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, is one of the 11 department of defence combatant commands of the US, which focuses on addressing security challenges affecting African countries.

Nawa shocked shocked shocked

The US is just everywhere

Their plan is simple, have a QRF in any part of the world to handle any anti US aggression before main battle force arrives the area. US always come with a heavy punch in war.

That's the essence of divisions and FoB in the Nigeria army back then before it was watered down

Your suggestion is good but not feasible without a big fight like endsars, northern lawmakers constitutes more than half of the lawmakers we have in this country how do you think any of them will assent to the bill when they knew how unfavorable it will likely be for their region and either you want to believe me or not Jonathan lost 2015 elections because of his plan to restructure the country if reelected.

now you are leaning towards regional angle. the initial question was national development which involves the people irrespective of the tribe.
that's why I said it's the people (North, East, South, and West) that have themselves to blame not the Brit or our politicians. if they want development, they know what to do.
besides agriculture was our main export before oil discovery. So until the people do the right thing, we have no right to blame outsiders

it's a pity you have eyes but can't see the obvious what role did they play after the aburi accord of 1966 which was meant to set our path on greatness and even now it's a pity you never knew the external role they played in reinforcing this mediocre of a leader.

simply vote in the right people especially in the legislative, force them to pass a bill for resource control and all. if such ain't made, moves should be made to recall them. don't say executive won't sign. a bill that isn't assented to by the president can still be passed by 2/3 votes of the house (Senate and reps)
you don't blame people for your own self inflicted damage.
