I am a 37 year old bachelor and I must confess that never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that someday I would be desperate to get married. When I was in my twenties, I used to hear of desperation amongst ladies to get married but I never clearly understood the feeling. I felt it was a "lady thing" until I got to the age of 34yrs. One day I was in my bedroom suddenly I felt the rush of emotions come upon me so strongly that all of a sudden started making me feel desperate for marriage. By the following year the desperate feeling became like torture and the loneliness was so depressing. I could no longer stand it when I attended weddings to see other young couples getting married. I could no longer stand it when I hear people discussing marriage around me.

I became like an object of fun in the office when they would call me "the oldest bachelor". I'm telling you, the feeling is not funny at all. Even when people innocently ask "Hey, why are you not yet married?" or "what are u waiting for?" It's a question that I just can't take emotionally. Though I'm doing my best to tie the knot soon but I must confess that it is a feeling that I don't even wish my enemies to have.

If me as a guy could be feeling like this, I can just imagine what single ladies of marriageable age are passing through emotionally.
For those of you reading my post, it is my prayer that you all get married at the right time and age so that you don't have to pass through the same emotional trauma of loneliness and desperation to get married.

Ugwo Anacletus has a biography that would be the envy of most young men. Below is a little from his Biography, which he generously provided for this interview:

Born into the family of Hon. Barr Ugwo Cletus in Umuoma Oboama Nguru Aboh Mbaise in Imo State, Nigeria, Ugwo started on a good note academically. It is however pointless to argue that he is a brainiac with a difference. He won cups and awards while in secondary school in competitions like Cowbell Mathematics competition, Nigeria Secondary School Students English and French Competition to list but a few. Ugwo is a creative mind with ten books to his credit.


Other interesting facts are:

He emerged the World Best Biologist Student in August 2013 in the undergraduate world competition held in New York, USA where more than six hundred and fifty one schools participated.

He was a speaker in UNESCO Award Education for sustainable development in Japan in 2014. He has honours from University of Ghana, University of Toronto, Canada and currently a final year student of Federal University of Technology, Owerri. Recently was awarded by chartered institute of management accountants (CIMA) as a CIMA management consultant. And a graduate of Microbiology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

What you inspired you to start up the ANAKCO PALM FARM CARE IDEA?

It was the saying, the Future is not something we enter, rather, something we create. To me Anacletus, i belive that thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle without the single candle shortened. It is clear that the proposed oil mill in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State is an attempt to promote and encourage socio-economic and human development in the area, create employment opportunities for the youths and create means of generating more revenue for the local government. Hence, it is clear that the proposal presents a new dimension of development. ANAKCO PALM FARM is willing to restore the lost glory of palm in NIGERIA and West Africa.

How I Won 228 Million Naira The NUS ENTREPRENEUR OF THE WEEK

You won the Nigerian Society of Engineers Innovation Competition with a prize of 20 million naira and came second place at the Global African Investment Summit with a prize currently over 200 million naira. How did you get to hear about the competitions?

I follow various websites for information regularly. An example is opportunitiesforafricans.com andnigerianuniversityscholarships.com. And i ensured i applied promptly for various ones. I got a letter from my local government to back my application for the NSE competition and that helped in some ways.

What are the major issues you had to overcome?

I had to overlook my FUTO (Federal University of Technology, Owerri) education, and finally came out with 2’1 (2nd Upper Class Degree). I never wanted it to disturb me or hold me back from my ideas. Going to class was a problem, i was always so busy. My reading was always either in a car or flight, on the way to one program or the other.
I have traveled to over 49 countries in the world either for one program or another.

No, she's not dead...just seriously injured. Miriam Gakenia,31, and her fiance James Mwangi, 27, had gone to buy wedding items but were injured in a road accident at Kiangwachi area along Nyeri-Nairobi highway on Tuesday, December 15. Their wedding was to take place at Dominion Towers Deliverance Church today, Saturday December 19.
Gakenia suffered a right hip joint injury and a broken right arm while Mwangi's right hand was injured. He had been treated and discharged but she could neither sit nor stand. The couple exchanged their vows at Outspan hospital today, with nurses as her bridesmaids.
"The wedding had to go on. We had prepared for six months. The devil was not going to get in the way. She would have become my wife even if she had lost her legs," Mwangi explained.
Gakenia said from her hospital bed: "I informed my doctor of the wedding and told him we were not ready to postpone it."
She said the hospital agreed to hold the wedding on its grounds. Nurses and matron Jane Wamucii escorted her to the location on her bed.
Gakenia and Mwangi had difficulties putting on their wedding rings as their hands were in casts but they exchanged their vows in what Reverend Stephen Mungai described as "a first in Nyeri".
It was also difficult for them to sign their marriage certificate and to share their wedding cake, but these paled in comparison to the exchange of vows at the emotional ceremony.
"I have never conducted such a wedding. It shows far love can go. It is a lesson in sticking with your vision regardless of hurdles, and eventually reaching your destination," the reverend said.
The couple did not have a photo shoot after the wedding but was taken to a private room at the hospital where Mwangi sat by Gakenia's bed for hours.
Gakenia, a system administrator at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, will remain at the hospital for six weeks.

Two days ago, FC Taraba players were disappointed by the Taraba State Government who had promised to pay the salaries owed.

The goalkeeper Ikechukwu Obilo told said the club chairman, Daniel Ishaya Gani, had assured the players that the Government had agreed to pay them 4 months salary out of the 11 months owed, but the players were disappointed again on Monday.

To protest the unfair treatment, the players gathered their mattresses and camped out in front of the Government House in Jalingo, all through the night, with hopes that the Governor will heed to their plea.

Explaining the current protest, Obilo said....

“Nothing has happened and the players are very angry. We have made plans to return to there (Government house) on Monday.”

”I heard the Chairman say the deputy Governor asked them to prepare a memo for 4 months payment but the Chief of Staff protested insisting only 2 months will be paid. At that point the Chairman stormed out of the office.”
