yougos:
Rivers govt debunks allegation

… As PDP picks woman deputy governorship candidate

From TONY JOHN, Port Harcourt

Former Minister of State for Education and Rivers State governorship flag bearer of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nyesom Wike, has accused Governor Chibuike Amaechi of spending a whopping N30 billion on General Muhammadu Buhari campaign to be All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate.

Besides, he said Amaechi was deceived by the leadership of the APC to spend the state fund on Buhari, in the hope that he would be chosen as the vice presidential candidate.

He attributed the alleged non-payment of salaries of civil servants in the state to the funding of the party by the governor.

Wike stated this yesterday at a “thank-you” visit to the people of Ikwerre held in Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.

He said: “Do you know why workers’ salaries have not been paid? Amaechi spent N30 billion in funding the presidential campaign of the APC. They allowed him to spend the money and later, they called him mugu.

“They said we would not make this ‘boy’ who does not respect the president (Jonathan) the vice president. We should know that our future is in the PDP and not the APC.”

But, the state government, through the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, has debunked the allegation of Amaechi funding Buhari.

She described the claim as baseless and false, saying Wike should provide proof to back his statement.

Semenitari stated: “It is unbelievable that a man who wants to be the governor of this state can make such an unbelievable statement without any proof.

“We challenge him (Wike) to show proof that Governor Amaechi spent N30 billion to fund APC campaign.

“There are some things that are unbelievable. With what President Jonathan is giving us, N30 billion is three months allocation. Is that what he (Wike) is saying that we used for primary? Rivers State Government will not dignify such unintelligent talk with responses. We will not respond to unintelligent talk; we will not react to stupid conjecturing.”

Wike, while expressing gratitude to Ikwerre people for endorsing him to run for the gubernatorial slot, disclosed that the PDP had chosen a woman to be his running mate, adding that she would be unveiled on Tuesday. He urged Ikwerre people to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan, saying APC was not the hope of Nigerians.

He said: “We are getting women involved in decision making of the state. The campaign is now for women to take to the next level. We have gone beyond the stage of just sharing wrapper to women as empowerment. This is a new era in Rivers State. The fate of Rivers people does not lie in the opposition APC. We are for the PDP all the way”

The governorship flag bearer stated that the legacies Governor Amaechi-led government had bequeathed to Rivers people were closure of the judiciary, House of Assembly, monorail and the N50 billion Karibi-Whyte Hospital.

Wike promised the people that, if voted as governor in 2015, he would review the economic value of their lands acquired by the state government for the Greater Port Harcourt City (GPH) project.

He urged the people to remain vigilant, alleging that APC was sewing fake police uniforms in an attempt to rig the 2015 elections. Wike charged the people to resist any attempt to compromise the electoral process by the APC.

A PDP chieftain in Ikwerre Local Government Area, Ernest Wosu, regretted that Amaechi failed the people, hence the decision to support a politician with a pedigree.

Nairaland General › Re: Christmas Tragedy As Medical Doctor Dies In Inferno by harry509: 7:56pm On Dec 25, 2014
adrelanine:
It was a sad Christmas morning for residents of Oke Ibukun Street, off Araromi, in Akure, Ondo State capital, who woke up to a raging fire that razed a clinic, Universal Medical Clinic (Specialist Children Clinic) and killing one Dr. David Oguntuase, said to be the owner of the clinic.

Our correspondent gathered that the fire began at 12.30 am on Thursday, but no one was able to determine the actual cause of the fire.

Sympathisers could not hold back their tears as they watched the remains of the doctor in the midst of the building, burnt beyond recognition.

It was learnt that the doctor worked as a Consultant Pediatrician at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo while he maintained the private clinic in Akure.

Some residents were said to have made frantic efforts to rescue the building, but their efforts to get the firemen to the scene failed, as none of the fire officers came to the scene in spite of the calls made to them.

A resident, Ajayi Olorunlogbon, explained that but for the efforts of neighbors around, the fire could have spread to other houses.

Officers of the Fire Service in the state could not be reached, but Police Public Relations Officer, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the incident, and said the state police command had begun an investigation into the cause of the fire.

He said, “The doctor was consumed in an inferno in his clinic and we have commenced our investigation, while his corpse had be taken to the morgue for autopsy.”

Ogodo added that the wife of the late doctor, Wuraola Oguntuase, came to report the incident at the A-Division Police Station in Akure.

Celebrities › Re: Anyone Who Comes Between A Married Couple Should Be Jailed- Omotola by harry509: 12:39am On Dec 25, 2014
lalasticlala:
Award winning actress, Omotola Jalde Ekeinde, in an interview with Encomium magazine, said that anyone who comes between a married couple deserve to be jailed because that person is robbing the couple of their joy.

."I think it should be a crime for anyone to come in between a couple. I feel anybody that comes between a married couple be a man or woman should go to jail. Such a person is robbing the family of their joy. To me, it is a crime that is worse than stealing another person's property" she said.

On what has kept her marriage going, she said:

"I would say first it is the fear of God. Then the fact that the reason we do all we do or the person we are all answerable to is God. He is the one guiding us. I would not lie to you that there was no time we almost gave up on both sides but at the end of the day you know you are answerable to God for whatever you do. There fore take your worry to him. And the reason you don't do anything stupid is because this person is not you are answerable to ultimately but God. So when God knows you depend on him that much, i think alone that helps you. Second is patience. You have to be very patient in every relationship, not just marriage. I feel very sad that a lot of people put so much pressure these days on marriages succeeding or not as if it is an alien relationship. The truth of the matter is that people fight their fathers, you fight your best friends. So why is it that you feel that you and your spouse can't fight or quarrel?"

Speaking about her husband, Omotola said he's been of great support to her

. "He has been supportive. He has been an angel. He is my rock of Gibraltar. I would say my husband is my fan so also my critic. Most important he has been my pillar of support. If you are doing this job, you feel like you always want to fear what somebody would feel about you. When I am talking of somebody, I mean your parent or husband, somebody that means something to you, that limits you as a creative mind. God is my witness, my husband has never for once felt anything negative about me being an actress. In 2016, we are going to celebrate 20 years of marriage. I can't remember anytime I wanted to do anything and he kicked against it violently. I have had to travel out of the country sometimes, it may be the same day he would know. You are also aware of the sensitivity of our job, we are very disorganized often times. You know how it feels for you to tell your husband that one thing you have been pursuing for the past three months, all of a sudden, you just got a call that they have bought flight ticket for you and you are going for maybe one week. So naturally that's just something you would say no, you can't. But I would go and tell him and he would be like wow! He would even encourage me to go. He is very understanding and very supportive" She said.

Omotola says featuring in the movie, The Prostitute and the controversies that surrounded the movie was the only time she felt her profession threaten her marriage.

. "The only time I would say I worried was when the movie, The Prostitute came out and that was the first major shaking I had. It was like a kind controversy. From the movie poster to the sex scenes, whatever in that movie that was shot after I left there was shot as if I was the one who did it. And you know Nigeria was not ready for that so there was a lot of controversy around that. So that was the only time I really worried about my marriage and to be frank and candid, until my husband told me he wasn't bothered, then I had peace".

Fashion › Re: 10 Weird Things Females Apply To Their Hair by harry509: 10:16pm On Dec 22, 2014
AMZYMAYO:
It's funny how our dear females go to the extreme to making their hair look good. And you know- having a good hair may translate to having a good look. You ask me! Because, they will have varieties of hairstyle to do with their ever fabulous hair.

Some of the things females include to their hair that still gave me a cracked rib of late are:

1. Egg
Both the egg yolk and egg white are added for conditioning the hair, steaming, and the egg white is specially added for scalp coating.

2. Yogurt
If I say yogurt, you say yummy. Yogurt, ... Yes, but the case is different here. Females, some, ass yogurt to strip away dirt, and to moisturise the lovely hair.

3. Lemon juice
I won't be surprise if I see tomorrow that females are now adding apple, mango or guava juice. Well, lemon juice is added to rid scalp of any loose and dry flakes of skin.

4. Beer
Beer, shocked! When guys and babes use beer to chill. But, to my utmost shock, females also use it to plump tired tresses in hair.

5. Honey
Not really surprised about this one? Hun! But, am still surprised, or maybe curious how the sweet-thick liquid that glitters my tea and pap can be use to attract and locks in moisture in hair.

6. Cornmeal
Another one here. It is use to remove oil and grease.

7. Avocado
*lol* Applied to smoothing and weighing down unruly hair.

8. Baking Soda
Oga ooo. A vital ingredient in baking is now apply to breakdown acidic in their hair.

9. Condom
The most weirdest on the list. They use it to hld some bulb hair in place. Serve, sometimes, in place of hair pin.

10. Fire and Hot water
Can you imagine the kind of danger these females go through just to look good? I sometimes pity them. Fire is sometimes use to hold the tip of hair, especially braids. Whereas, hot water is use to soften, or to compress it.

Final thought: I foresee an era, in the future, where our sweet, sexy and yummy females will start using:

A. Sugar
Probably to make the hair very sweet

B. Pad
Probably to pack the hair so that excess ingredients like oil, pink oil, 9/11 and the likes won't evaporate easily.

C. Tracker
Guys will put trackers to know if a man touches the hair, and the price of the hair. I believe this will limit scam.

*please add yours*
wich am com b condom nside hair again. I guess mayb their hair they straff grin grin

lalasticlala:
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Monday said it had deployed no fewer than 55,000 of its personnel nationwide to ensure a hitch-free Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The NSCDC spokesman, Mr Emmanuel Okeh, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that about 15,500 specially-trained sniffer dogs had also been deployed.

Okey said the animals would complement the efforts of its personnel by ensuring law and order during the yuletide.

The spokesman said, “I can assure you that the NSCDC has deployed no fewer than 55,000 of its personnel across the nation, especially to those hot spots, to ensure law and order during and after the yuletide.

“We have also taken delivery of about 500 specially-trained sniffer dogs from the US, to complement the 15,000 we have on ground.

“And all of them will be deployed to ensure adequate security during this period.”

Okeh said the NSCDC had deployed 5,000 personnel to some strategic states like the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lagos, Kano and Port Harcourt, while other states would have no fewer than 2,000 personnel.

He said strategic places such as churches, recreation spots, federal highways and all forms of gathering places would have security beefed up around them.

According to him, other specialised units such as the Special Forces, counter-terrorism unit and surveillance vehicles will also be deployed to maintain law and order.

The NSCDC official urged Nigerians to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement to security agents as some criminals were fond of using public holidays to perpetrate evil.

What saved their step brother was that he had walked out on the pastor during the course of the spiritual cleansing.

The popular Oniru family in Lagos State is in a mourning mood. Yet, the source of their sadness is no where in sight.

The sadness stems from the death of two members of the prominent Oniru family during a spiritual bath.

And though the Police in Lagos State have arrested a member of the New Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ajah area of the state over the death of Abiodun and Ayinde Oniru during a spiritual bath over the weekend, the pastor who conducted the exercise, Samuel Olusoji, is no where to be found.

Abiodun (23) and Ayinde (20), both of the same parents, and one of their step brothers with an undisclosed identity, were said to have been taken to the church by their father and step mother on Thursday.

The spiritual cleansing was to last for three days.
The bath was to take place at Ogombo area of Ajah.

However, Abiodun and Ayinde reportedly drowned during the spiritual bath. What saved their step brother was that he had walked out on the pastor during the course of the spiritual cleansing. When policemen from Ogombo Police Station visited the church at 739, Ori-Oke Ibukun Ilasan Street, Jakande Ajah,on Saturday, members of the church took to their heels.

Only the secretary of the church could be apprehended by the policemen. The pastor also escaped.
