@Toba! Some muslims don't mind marrying a xtian. It all depends on what you want. The sisters here are just telling you their personal views. Nobody can speak for anyone.so if you want to marry a muslim, go ahead. It is left for d sister to say yes or no.you don't av to take anytin personal.

@Toba! I wouldn't want to marry a xtian because of the following reasons:
As a muslim, I try my best to abide by the teachings ofd the Holy quran one of which is marriage to a xtain. Q 2v221 says: do not marry your girls to unbelievers until they believe. So until such person believes in Allah and becomes a muslim, I will not go against the Quran.
I hate conflict of religion. I want a guy of the same faith. We will pray in d same way and speak the same language.
In our society, a man has d overall power in the house. He can decidde for d woman which religion to choose. A lady gets influenced easily and accepts d man's religion as her own. It takes a strong woman to remain as muslim and practice same well if she marries a xtain.
NB! I ve nothing against d xtian. Our faith re not just d same and I will not force a man to change because of me. He can only change if he wants to. I can only assist him. There is no compulsion in religion.

People stay in an unhappy relationships because of the ff reasons;
Lonliness
Insecurity
Fear of the unknow
They believe dey can't get someone better.
They tink they can't live without him or her
Dey have invested so much in the relationship so find it difficult to let go.
They keep their hopes high and believe things will get better.

@deols! My sister did her Nikkah at U.I mosque. She and her husband did some counselling some months before the Nikkah.

@blapo, dere re some organisation dat does marriage counselling. E.g nasfat. Also if you want to make use of university of ibadan mosque, you ve to partake in marriage counselling.

Amputation of hand is d right punishment for steqling in d Quran in as much as d offenders re muslims or oda believers dat has agreed to be bound by islamic law. However, before dis punishment can be carried out, it is obligatory on the state to make necessary provisions for both wordly and eternal need of its citizens especially those who do not have the means.
This implies dat d state most provide adquately well for d needy such dat there will be no excuse when the offence of theft is commited.
Thus the amputation of hand will not be carried out at d time of hunger and necessity.

Same wth the xtians.I wudnt like to marry a xtain becos I don't want conflict of religion for them. Marrying a xtian will confuse d children on which of d religion to follow. I want my kids to be muslims and even beta than me in the religion.
