FamilyRe: Adichie’s Feminism: Vacuums And Fallacies By A. Gonzaga by hayorbaami: 3:23pm On Jul 30, 2014
The endless love for feminism arguments.. cheesy. Don't you just love how this same set of people keep expending energy over this issue? Why give so much attention to a movement you detest so much? Stay away from feminists and live longer and healthier cheesy. When will we hear the last of this war against feminism biko cheesy cool

You can only choose how to live your own life, not how others live theirs. Eish!

FamilyRe: My Fiance Asked Me To Choose: House Or Marriage? by hayorbaami: 6:27pm On Jul 29, 2014
Phema: Anyone who doesn't see a problem with her fiancee's approach to the issue is not being objective.

No sane girl will be vexed with a fiance that lays out his cards on the table. I and my husband had a lot of "sitdowns" and "card laying" before our wedding, but none ever made me feel like I was being forced on him.

The approach makes all the difference. This OP's fiance's approach feels like he is doing her a big favour marrying her. What happened to "Dear, there is this property opportunity I would like us to key into, but that might mean delaying our wedding abit or cutting down on wedding cost, what do you think?" Who gets angry with this approach? As against "Choose between wedding and house. Our wedding is in your hands". Which mature man, in love with his lady and is ready to get married says a thing like that?

Op, truth is, this says A LOT about the man you may call your husband. Not saying he's bad, but if I were you, I will try to know him a little better before saying "I do".

Like I said in my first post, donot pick any option. Tell him to do the one he thinks is more important and watch. Pick his calls and stop being childish.

And who are all these people saying ladies like lavish weddings? I never liked one and many ladies I know don't either.
Don't mind them. As if I haven't seen men go crazy over weddings too. From organising big proposals to pre wedding shoots to huge weddings. I know men who push for big celebration more than their women and some even get to caution them on the spending. Imagine coogar asking how many women think beyond their wedding days. What an insult. Are we talking of 3year olds here or adults? What is the joy in having a big wedding only to settle or retire in a not-so-decent apartment. Many women won't even mind spending their money on setting up their new apartment(especially on kitchen and household equipment that make chores less tasking) instead of using it all for the wedding.

plendil: Its indescribably pathetic that we have sunken so low in our morals that some have deemed it appropriate to make jest over the loss. Truly pathetic. Yes he has his indiscretions, and they may indeed be many. but he's just like all of us. If God were to visit the sins of the fathers on their children, I wonder just how many of you morrons would still be parents. Thankfully I know my God is not like that.

Let us not let our hate twist our sense our reasoning, please.

Take for instance the comment by one imbeecile on his fb wall sad
Tell them please! Imagine them forming saint like some of them would still be alive to type mor0nic comments if God had decided to strike them dead because of the sins of their fathers.
PoliticsRe: SHOCKING!!! Which Of The State Governors Is This Man (see Shocking Picture) by hayorbaami: 5:32pm On Jul 27, 2014
I'm certain non-nigerians visiting this forum would think the only governors in nigeria are the southwestern governors. This obsession on this forum by the people they don't even govern is crazy.

FamilyRe: My Brother Or My Wife, Who Should I Pick? by hayorbaami: 10:15am On Jul 20, 2014
Its funny how many assume only a woman misbehaves when she becomes rich. Don't men misbehave too when they 'arrive'? What makes us so certain that the brother will become loyal forever? What makes us so sure brother will agree or eventually fulfil the terms of establishing a business for the wife or giving a percentage to his brother. Its easier to give the wife the job with a clause than doing the same to a full grown man. Also, the husband's future is with his wife and kids NOT his brother. This same brother will move on tomorrow with another woman and start his own family which would obviously be his priority. Once the bro starts earning his money, he'd leave your house and move on. Except you married a monster, there's no way your woman will not use the money for the benefit of you and the kids.

I'm certain no wife would think twice before giving the job to her husband if she were to be in this situation. I don't know why it has to be different with some men. Must it all be about ego, insecurities rather than common sense.
HealthRe: Amazing! Patients Pay Doctors To Use Surgical Equipment Atigbobi Hospital by hayorbaami: 6:26am On Jul 20, 2014
..And isn't this what these health professionals should be fighting for ? No, they all would rather strike over petty things and selfish interests. They'd rather call themselves bastarddz, quacks, incompetent, dispensable, say many condescending words to one another than fight together as a team for well equipped institutions that will make their jobs easy for them and benefit the citizens of this country.. Everyone seems to be fighting for their pockets and power. What a misplacement of priority. Shame.

FamilyRe: Is It Ideal To Go For Someone With A Lesser demanding career than You by hayorbaami: 11:34am On Jul 14, 2014
deesquarediddy: I don't really agree with this. Women(the ambitious ones) are very multi-tasking that most men wonder how they manage to cope with career and at the same time be a good home maker. If you love each other, you both help each other achieve your individual dreams. Its simple, you fill-in any area your partner in found wanting.

***********************
Lets hear your views.

https://www.nairaland.com/1810238/rate-gejs-administration-based-worldwide
As simple as the above. I do not understand why some assume every ambitious woman lacks time management and will not know how to balance the homefront. Are they trying to tell me teachers or these ministry workers raise kids better than their counterpart in the corporate world? As far as I am concerned, all hands should be on deck for a family to progress. If a woman decides to settle for less just to keep the homefront, what happens when the husband dies, gets sacked, starts misbehaving and the money flow from her less ambitious job isn't enough to cater for every member of the family anymore?

Should a woman who is a nurse that would definitely run afternoon and night shifts give up her job and passion cos homefront will suffer? Or a female doctor who's always on call? These people with(or sometimes without) the help of their husbands still train good children because they manage their time and multitask effectively even if it is at the detriment of their social lives.

To each is own, but we have stop this misleading assumption that every ambitious woman will fail in her home. These women are seen in all sectors in today's world having the best of both(career and family).

FamilyRe: Women, Do U Cry On Ur Wedding Day, If U Do Y by hayorbaami: 11:27am On Jul 10, 2014
My mum, dad and I cried during my engagement. It was really emotional especially when they were praying for us.I am very close to my family and I know I wont see them always again. That is what made me cry.

My husband and I cried during our first dance because the song meant so much to us . And at the end some of our friends joined in crying. It will always be a memorable moment for us.
FamilyRe: Annoying Spousal Habits by hayorbaami: 10:52pm On Jul 09, 2014
My husband is fond of waking up in the middle of the night to eat apples. He can wake up like four times just to eat apples. And the way he chew the apples makes me stay awake. I still find it really strange and sometimes I make jest of him that it was apples that killed Abacha.
Hubby eat cereal for breakfast and each time, he doesn't finish his bowl of cereal. He would then put it in the fridge. This he does everyday and by the end of the week there are five unfinished bowl of cereal in d fridge. I find it really annoying.

Yes, that same number. I'm actually pissed cos I am not based in lag and came into town after she assured me I'd get a follow up mail yesterday. I was even about dressing up this morning when I put the call through to her only for her to tell me the AC has been postponed.

Anyway, I'd love to have your contact pls, so we can keep each other posted about the AC since we both chose the same department. I can be reached on ivorytower90@gmail.com
Jobs/VacanciesRe: KPMG Graduate Aptitude Test 2013 by hayorbaami: 10:26am On Jul 01, 2014
Morning guys. Please I need advice. I got a mail from the HR on thur that they have been trying to reach me but my number hasn't been available and was told to get back to them on or before 30th of june. I replied the mail immediately and also called to confirm if my reply was received. I confirmed the number I filled was right and I had been waiting for the call for some time. She called me back an hour later to schedule me for july 1(today) and asked if I would be available. I confirmed I would and she said she will send me a follow up email. I called yesterday morning to remind her about the mail and she assured me I'd get it before the end of the day.

When I woke up this morning still without the mail, I decided to call her back but she started asking me questions about who called me and when and I should give a name. I called her name(which I remember from the mail she sent) and she said she's sorry, the AC has been postponed till further notice. I reminded her I wasn't based in lagos and came in yesterday for this assessment centre. I also told her i called her to remind her of the follow up email and she assured me I'd get it before the end of yesterday. She repeated she was sorry and she'd get back to me via email on any update. Please can anyone shed more light on this. I chose T and R. What can I do?

RomanceRe: How Did You React the first time You Met Your Blind Dates? by hayorbaami: 8:41am On Sep 25, 2013
I met my first blind date was on glo chat. We agreed to meet in my sister's school. On that day, I went with my sister and I asked him to stay at a particular spot. I decided to stay a little farther from the spot.
Lo and Behold! I saw a tiny guy with big ears and was limping. I really hoped he wasn't the one until he called my phone.
I just switched my phone off and left with my sister. He later sent a text and insulted me. I just ignored it.

It doesn't matter the choice of word I use either in islam or islamically, I passed a message across and am sure u got it!
IslamRe: A Plea From A Muslim Sister by hayorbaami: 6:01pm On Dec 29, 2011
This is the problem Muslims face when they do not understand their religion. There is nothing like Mutah.
Islamically, to make a valid marriage dere must be 5 things present.1) offer 2)Acceptance 3)Guardian(father or any oda person) 4) dowry 5) witnesses
Where any of these fails, that marriage is void. The father is very important in marriage and his consent is to the marriage is important. Anything short of this is zina. So there was no marriage after all but fornication.
