BRATISLAVA: At the end of the day you know she's mulatto, so stop pushing your fake black agenda, egbon. Obama falls under the same category with her: neither black nor white. Why you are complicating that and making your unsubstantiated claims about their race is ridiculous. Go and learn how to identify race with a pencil. 1st generation Migrants who don't understand race.
The monkey baby isn't because she is black, but because she's tainted. Live with it. Black is black, white is white. Mulatto is mulatto. Your type probably think Latinos are white.
Case closed Oga, case Kan Kan o close! You don't have to insult me (or try to) Are you so uptight? I am not a first generation migrant, FYI. Obama identifies himself as a black man, if you say otherwise, that's your business. |

djon78: Unhappy marriages? You guys make me laugh Compare modern marriages where they claim love and past marriages which one last more.
Go and meet people that have had a lasting marriage, it takes more than love to make a marriage work. What most people call love is just emotional feelings, it lasts maximum 2 years and reality sets in.
What makes marriage work is commitment of the two parties to themselves, and to raising there children. From where I come from we don't believe in broken homes. So people get to know what they are getting into. Marriage is not this flimsy euphoric feeling in the name of love. Still small thing the so called two people in love can't stand themselves, end up divorcing, exposing children produced in those unions to ridicule and lifetime of pain. Very selfish set of people that care about there own feelings. I dare say that a considerable number of your 'working' marriages are not quite happy-- I work in a field where I interact with such people a lot... Divorce is higher now because women are more independent and don't have to obey what society forces down their throat. It doesn't suggest the fact that our Mothers were happier. They were only in their marriages because of their children. Usually when there was no child there was no marriage. ...and when, the child got married they only knew to follow him about and compete with his wife as that was what they lived for. What happy woman will leave her husband and continue constituting a nuisance in a child's house? I know people who are in abusive marriages and have stayed because of divorce and it's stigma. I know a 66 year old man who still hits his 61 year old wife and I also know a 75 year old man who hits his 70 something year old wife. I detest divorce, but if a marriage is not working , there is no use enduring-- marriage was made for man, not man for marriage. When we stand before God he will ask us if we did what he sent us to do on earth-- alone. No husband, no wife, no kids. People have succeeded on their second marriages, and some still will never do, but I don't believe a marriage should be endured-- there is more to life. About love, I believe in love. I have seen people who love their spouses and I are seen those who just clinging on. Same way I have seen people who love their jobs and those who just have to survive. Which do you want? Love will sustain a marriage, emotions however will not, as they wax and wane. Love is kind, unselfish, faithful... It's not just an emotion. It's a product of good character and requires both parties. It's like food, food is essential for survival. The food however should be sweet-- hence the emotional love, 'romance.' Spice the 'Food' with the 'Maggi' and you will have the euphoria and stability you need in a marriage. |

efeski: Lol similar thing almost happened in my family. Tribe palaver. Popsi been drumming it in our heads that none of his kids would marry from itsekiri tribe.
I sat my mom down when my elder brother and his itsekiri babe were about taking things to the next level. Told her straight up what if this is the lady that God has destined to bring happiness to your son? If u force him to break up and he ends up with someone else & becomes miserable, do you think he'll forgive you?
Today they're happilly married. Pops don calm down The world hasn't stopped spinning I have a friend... His babe's father (now father-in-law) was doing anyhow... Causing small-small wahala. The guy on one of his visits politely told the man, 'Sir please don't be surprised if when next she comes home she is pregnant!' Ehn! Straight the man allowed the girl marry o. I have seen enviable love in the white man's land I was still admiring an elderly oyinbo couple last week-- the man took the woman to the rain station on a quad bike (old people o), and when the woman was leaving, come and see hugging and kissing (like teenagers). I con dey wonder... No be like business or knacking or domestic chores transaction we have in Africa. Compatibility/ insane love is not easy to find. |

UIA04: Loool
Do you know Dangote's daughter had an arranged marriage? The guy she married is know to date very fair girls and even impregnated his girlfriend during wedding preparations.
Every mother fawking northern elite's child no matter how educated will have an arranged marriage.
Tradition is worse in the north than in igboland.
Seriously, I expected a more solid argument from you.
The rich people you people use as example practice arranged marriage more than poor people. From the richest family in the world Rothschild, to the richest in Nigeria , Dantata. I don't care if she had one or not-- it was her choice, nobody forced her. All I said was, will OP be saying OSU rubbish if the girl were Dangote's daughter? ...and contrary to your obnoxious stereotype, every mother fawking rich kid in the north does not have an arranged marriage! The rich usually marry the rich because of the circles they roll in. Anti-Osu free me. |

UIA04: Oh, god you people are truely hilarious.
This goes beyond family opinion. If na that one no problem. Didn't you read where the man said his mother loved the babe.
Even if op marries her and goes to live in Japan his parents, brothers, sisters will suffer the consequences here in Nigeria.
Do you know what it is to be tagged an outcast in a community?
The whole extended family will become outcasts from generation to generation.
You can as well give him money to evacuate his extended family [ if they want to go] I'm sure you nairalanders will contribute for them.
Do you know the spiritual attacks they will face?
OSU is a terrible thing.
You people are mean for egging him on to throw his future into the gutter becuase of a girl that might even have 5 boyfriends waiting.
This is real life not Diego and paloma.
With the spate of divorce , I can't advice anyone to marry anybody you won't be guaranteed peace within the first two years of marriage. So if Dangote's daughter is OSU, they will say he should not marry and he will agree? Anyway its his choice. My life, my choice, nobody tells me otherwise! |

BRATISLAVA: Continue your racial delusion.
He was not black and he was not white. Because one of your parents is one race doesn't make you that race. You become a mulatto. Meaning you have no true race. In a country with only black people, I can understand why you don't understand race. Black is black, white is white. Mulattos don't count. I don't live in Nigeria egbon. If Meghan Markle were considere white, some people won't make jokes about her monkey baby. You are the only person I that has turned Obama's colour to a scientific discourse. *If you are not white, you are not white ( at least that's how the racists have always thought in America, the Carribeans and South Africa). Squirrel01: You are not the first, you won't be the last, this thing has been in existence since the days of your forefathers, you won't marry her, there is nothing you can do about it, seems you don't know the history of this Osun caste system in iboland, love can't break it,Beauty can't break it, you see these folks tagged Osun? The gods blessed them with beauty, good character, and a rare gift, yet tradition abhors them, they don't want them to dine with them, it's tradition, every family wants to keep a clean sheet of their lineage, as per your predicament, I don't have any advice to offer, as the answer lies with your family, your kindred, this is just the ugly truth, you have to swallow this bitter pill, the word Osun is a very strong word in iboland, churches have tried to eliminate and abolish it but to no avail, so many marriageble young ladies out there are roaming the streets of their community due to this issue, their only hope is, if someone who has no interest or knowledge about this Osun issue happens to wife them up. Yet there are still hidden nemesis attached to it. This is what they (your family are avoiding). Thread wisely. Who are the gods? |

UIA04: You people are funny.
People who are pushing op won't suffer with him and his wife when the consequences come.
Don't you know people who are traditional to the core will DL anything to protect it.
They will fight them spiritually and physically. When a man and wife are supposed to be enjoying their marriage and growing rich they will be fighting family members.
Innocent children will suffer.
The family of the man will hate her so much. In my opinion, long distance relationship no be relationship.
This is not romeo and Juliet, it's real life. If you can't live with the harsh consequences of your decisions bow out.
Love kor Love ni. After one of my sister's married, we didn't even know their house ( though we lived in the same City) for close to a Year. My sister said she didn't want any family interference... They will come visit my parents and that was it. Stay in your bloody house! Extended family interference is the major cause for unecessary wahala in marriages. So my mum gossiped a sister-in-law to someone and my brother heard-- that was it! He stopped calling or answering her calls for a very long time. He will send money to her account as a son should do, but nothing else. She has learnt her place now and minds her business. If the family is proving difficult fvck 'em abeg! |

When she started concocting her plans for the new one, naso the 2 of them go Court, go marry. They didn't tell any of us. We got to know after they had their first baby, a year after. My mum almost had a heart attack! It's been 14 years and those niggas are doing okay. Though I know my sister loved the first boyfriend more (and vice versa). But what-to-do? May be that's your own missing ribs. Stand your ground. Fight for her. You will win. Trust God and believe what I'm saying. Once your parents see that connection and love. They will bow to it. They know discrimination is wrong.
Otherwise, please, connect this precious lady to a Yoruba man to marry ASAP. This is one of the main reasons why the other tribe will continue to marry the best of your women. Very stupid tradition, one would think.
