Religion / Re: Why Many Christians Find It Difficult To Be Holy by helicoptarr: 2:55pm On Aug 20, 2023
As a Christian, you can never achieve holiness by your own efforts or willpower. Only the Holy Spirit can help remould your heart to assume the nature of Christ.

John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Zechariah 4:6
Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, “This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ saith the Lord of hosts.

Almiron:
Nigerian Afrobeats Queen, Tiwa Savage during a recent show advised women to be independent during a recent concert.

The famous artist recently underlined the value of a woman’s independence at a concert. Tiwa remarked that since she has her own resources, all he needs is a partner who can match her dynamism.

She said that even in the end, males would still shatter women’s hearts, therefore it’s better to grieve in luxury than cry broken.

Tiwa Savage made this comment while performing. She said; “ I am not encouraging runs, I am not saying you should go after a man for his money but I’m saying it’s sweet when you also spend your money. Because I have my own money as you can see.

“So all I am saying is you need to match my energy because they will still break your heart anyway. So it’s better for you to cry with your Christian Dior-Dior-Dior, your Birkin bag, and your private jet to Dubai

Religion / Re: Does Being Born Again Mean I Am Free From Sin And Immunized Against Sinning? by helicoptarr: 2:54pm On Aug 15, 2023
litigator:
This is one area of our Biblical journey we often shy away from talking about.

I am certain I am not alone in this regard.

How does it feel if at 9. am on a Sunday morning, I come out for an altar call after a powerful heart-shattering and guilt-provoking sermon, give my life to Christ; I am prayed for and declare born again, but I unconsciously commit a sin on my way back home?

And with that guilt, I go back to sin full time like it was before the alter call?

I guess I am not alone in this regard. I have attended church services countless times and listened to sermons and teachings that I can't recollect, and at the end of such endeavour, I obey the alter call one minute, and the next minute, I am back to fornicating. This is one thing that has kept a lot of people out of this spiritual journey.

Even Pastors are not immune to sin, as some have found themselves committing sin at one point or the other. I guess Apostle Paul suffered same in the Bible. And this brings me to my question.

Does being again make you immune to sin, and is it a vaccine against sinning?

Is it that if I sin, it will no longer count against me because I have Grace?

Or is it a merry-go-round of sinning and asking for forgiveness shortly afterwards until we get better at not sinning anymore?

And if the latter is the case, why do churches hate and guilt-shame members when they sin but defend pastors when they do the same?

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:16

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
Romans 8:33

Every church inherently has its disciplinary committee to check, correct, admonish, discipline its ministers (pastors, workers). They do not judge erring individuals. The disciplinary committee in the wisdom of the Holy Spirit determine the appropriate disciplinary measures to each case.

However, in cases where an individual - a minister or a member - offers up him/herself as a tool for the devil, deliberately constituting nuisance to the extent that they may contaminate the wholesomeness of others, it's only reasonable for such an agent to be barnished by they wreak havoc.

I must add that the consequences of shaming, abusing or ridiculing a man of God, whether or not he's fake or even if he commits a sin is grave.

However, in situations where a crime is committed by them, let the law of the land be applied.
Religion / Re: Does Being Born Again Mean I Am Free From Sin And Immunized Against Sinning? by helicoptarr: 10:49am On Aug 15, 2023
litigator:

Kindly explain further sir.

The moment we confess the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and are saved, all the sins committed prior to the moment of salvation are wiped out of our record (everything we do here on earth is being recorded).

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9

“Come now, and let us reason together,” saith the Lord. “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Isaiah 1:18

However, our self-will remain intact. Meaning we still have the power or capacity to turn away from God. Otherwise, we'd be like robots with no genuine love for God.
If the possibility to fall is eliminated at the point of confession then there's no need to be careful. It's only those lying on the floor that can't fall.
That said, God is still Holy and His eyes cannot behold evil. Habakkuk 1:13

"Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."
1 Corinthians 10:12

"There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."
Proverbs 16:25

"Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil."
Proverbs 3:7

"For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee."
Romans 11:21

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 6:1-2

"Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents."
1 Corinthians 10:9

The Word of God has said it all.

Anyone who dies in sin will not enter the kingdom of God no matter how nice, kind, generous or active in the work of God.
And when the Lord Jesus returns, even the unraptured Christians will fnd it difficult to buy back their salvation with their blood. And many will bow to the antichrist for a relief from unimaginable pain and torture. Their end is eternal damnation in hell.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Removal Of Bazoum Is Making Terrorism Worse In Niger Republic by helicoptarr: 10:30am On Aug 14, 2023
Guyman01:
The terrorists are sponsored by France and America, there is a recent of a military post blamed on France which the media reported sparingly, can you imagine terrorists who can't feed themselves have tanks, hundreds of Toyota Hilux vehicles, RPG, Howitzer, AK47 is more readily available than pen for children to write in school, meanwhile US and France have military bases there.

Ask yourself why they are afraid of Russia Wagner moving in, its because the Russians don't believe there's Islamic terrorism, they see the terrorists as western mercenaries and approach them with so much brutality like they did to Ukraine in Bakhmut meat grinder.

Mali and Central African Republic have driven terrorists from their territories and they are fleeing into Niger and Bazoum couldn't do anything about it without taking permission from the French ambassador to Niger, this is part of the reason the Military took over, I have a friend who is a top officer in the Niger Army that we schooled together in Nigeria and I contacted him and he told me that they would rather burn down the whole Uranium and gold mines and presidential palaces and then go into guerilla warfare against France than for Bazoum to get back to power and the entire Niger military is in support and he sounded very serious about it.

For many Nigeriens that coup is their real independence day and not the issuing of flag from France called "Independence" that happened 60 years ago.

Nigeria should thread with caution because the average Nigerien is ready to fight ECOWAS, they may have a small military but they are determined to defend this new independence with their lives and they have our northern politicians, Islamic clerics and Talakawa in full support ready to sabotage Tinubu, you can doubt me if you like but I am here in the North

Unfortunately, not everyone understands these things you've explained.

Most people have absolutely no idea of what's really going so their emotions get in the way of objective reasoning.

In International Relations, the right things are said where economic interests exist. However, this doesn't mean the state or non-state actor won't covertly do otherwise for other perhaps bigger and long-term interests.

Conclusion:
International relations isn't as clear and simple as the media present it to the masses.
