Hmm. Sorry for your loss doc. This is one of many of the experiences of the common man in this country. One would think the political class will make use of this opportunity to make things right, but no, they prefer to take that which can serve the populace (e g. The functioning ventilator in the stste,) to use for themselves. Doctors have been on strike in Ekiti state, instead if the govt to do the needful, they are busy mounting threats. That shows they are not ready yet. It's all about their own welfare and the masses can go to hell. Govt tells you to endure and understand that there's paucity of funds, but they the govt won't understand paucity of funds in their lavish spendings. I hope we get things right soon enough because it's going to claim all of them one after the other . |
nusdog:It's actually bad But you can recall your money if it's not yet too long. Just call your bank that you had a mistaken transaction which client has refused to send back to you. Some details maybe needed. A client actually sent me money by mistake twice, and I got the second transfer after 24hrs. Meanwhile he had already called his bank to report the double debut from his account. I later got the second transfer and sent back his money. You wouldn't believe that after almost a year, a lien of that same amount was placed on my account which I'm still battling with the banks to resolve. I've shown them evidences that I have settled the issue with my client over a year ago but the lien is still on my account uptill as I'm typing. A lien is an embargo placed on your account for a particular amount which you cannot access pending clearance for such amount. So, you can try it. |
Five days after doctors in the service of the Ekiti State Government embarked on an indefinite strike action, other healthcare workers in the state under the Joint Associations and Unions of Ekiti State Healthcare Workers are set to commence a three-day warning strike beginning from today The union comprises the state chapters of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) and the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals which comprises pharmacists, among others. In a letter dated July 3, and addressed to Governor Kayode Fayemi, the union notified the government of the commencement of the industrial action and why the decision became inevitable. In the letter, titled, “Notification of 3 Day Warning Strike in Respect of Failure to Meet the Request of Healthcare Workers in the Public Health Sector,” the union said series of ultimatums issued to the government and dated June 3, 8, and 24, were ignored by the administration. Reasons for strike In a telephone interview with PREMIUM TIMES, the chairman of the union, Femi Ajoloko, accused the government of subjecting the healthcare workers to untold hardship, saying their sacrifices for the state have been taken for granted. According to Mr Ajoloko, for the past 10 years, healthcare workers in the state have not been receiving statutory hazard allowance and other allowances including those for uniforms, skipping, among others. He said; “We have arrears of unpaid salaries and the government has consistently been making deductions from our salaries without remitting the same to appropriate purses such as cooperative societies. “We had been managing and enduring these challenges but even at this critical time, the state has refused to consider us by paying the covid-19 special hazard allowance. After a series of letters, when we met with government representatives on Monday, we were told the state does not have money.” The union’s chairman said his members were distraught by the development and felt they were being taken for granted. He said the Monday meeting was attended by the head of service, senior special assistant on labour matters, commissioner for finance, and permanent secretary, ministry of health, among others. “But the same government that is claiming that there is no money has been busy announcing political appointments as if the appointees will work for free. They now seem to have shifted focus on the isolation centres forgetting the fact that those of us at the primary healthcare facilities and general hospitals are more exposed to hazards.” In the letter, the union said if within the three days the government failed to meet the workers’ demands, there would be no hesitation to embark on an indefinite strike. The letter reads in part; “The leadership of the Joint Associations and Unions of Ekiti State Healthcare Workers frowned at the lukewarm attitude of the state government towards our request which has not been acceded to by the state government. “Having exhausted all the necessary means and procedures to avert this impending strike to no avail, the leadership of above named associations and unions, therefore, painstakingly resolved and declared a three-day warning strike with effect from 12midnight on Monday, July 6, 2020, to press home our demands.” Meanwhile a nurse with one of the general hospitals in the state, who asked not to be named for fear of victimisation, has lamented what she described as an unfriendly working atmosphere in the state. According to the source, as a level 12 officer on Step 3, she has been receiving the same salary as when she was on Level 9 Step 7. “I have been promoted twice without financial benefits. I moved from level 9 to 10, and then to 12, yet I kept receiving the same salary and deductions are still not remitted. What kind of government is that? It is a sad development,” the nurse said. Govt reacts The state government has said it would soon respond formally to the development. In a short message shared with our reporter on WhatsApp, the commissioner for health, Mojisola Yaya-Kolade, said she would soon issue an official statement. Mrs Yaya-Kolade’s tarse response simply reads; “A statement will be issued.” This is the same response the commissioner gave when a similar inquiry was made on the ongoing doctors’ strike in the state. But the statement is yet to be issued more than 72 hours after. The doctors’ strike It would be recalled that the medical doctors under the aegis of the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP) covering more than 100 primary healthcare centres, 19 general hospitals and three specialist hospitals, have since Wednesday commenced indefinite strike in the state. The doctors accused the government of subjecting them to what they described as unnecessary hardships through shortage of manpower, poor pay and arrears of unpaid allowances. PREMIUM TIMES learnt that the government has insisted that it would only engage the workers when they call off the strike and return to their duty posts. ijustdey:Una don see now. If healthworkers kick now, una go dey say they are heartless. While the people you all should call heartless are there getting away with it. Right from the start of this covid-19 thing, I decided not to do any rubbish volunteer shit for anybody because I know they (the govt) won't have my back, and the citizens you are killing yourself for are not worth it. So I just care for my family and friends who needs my medical care and keep safe by whatever means necessary. Rubbish country and govt. All medics around, find your way out of this shit hole as soon as you get the way o, nobody cares about you and yours. We are on our own!!! |
ShawnMichael:I think wish works well for folks within Lagos. I stay outside Lagos, the items I ordered for never got to me. They later initiated a refund which is stuck on the wish app as I can't withdraw the money.....haven't checked it in a while coz it's not that much. But the other person I mentioned got hers...and I made the order via my same app but used a Lagos address for hers. |
I've actually been flagged down by security officers while alone in the car, and asked why I wasn't wearing face mask. I politely told them I didnt need one since I was the only one in the car. They just smiled and let me pass. Even army folks stopped me and did same....andd I gave them same explanation. We should know not all our security men are smart ....and we should learn to deal with them smartly. I always have one in the car nothwithstanding..........so I case I pick anyone, I use mine and ask my passenger to also do so. |
Emperoh:Bro....goodevening. Pls, can i still get that glass crack fix? Do you have it or where can I get it pls? I got a car for someone and somehow I can't explain, tiny stones fell on the windshield and it cracked. I can't still explain how it happened but I know it's from an impact of tiny stones due to the impact spot it left on the glass. Just came out to see the car's windshield cracked. |
martyns303:Power outbreak indeed. Lol |
Good heads |
Sorry o. You can come join our gathering if you don't mind |
Hope it's not just buildings/edifices.......but also a well equipped facility that we can proudly call a hospital. Good job |
PediakAuthor:Sewing the masks is a phase in the production while making it sterile enough for public use is another phase, I think. After sewing, there should now be a way to make it germs free which will be conducive for public use....and that's the phase I hope they have the resources or facility to sterilise the masks after sewing. I don't expect them to just churn out those masks after sewing it just as we saw in the pictures. Govt can come in now to help get them the required materials to make perfect healthy masks for our use. It's a good step in the right direction. Weldone guys |
Will be good to attach pictures of the car....and hashtag the admins to move it to front page. Lalasticlala and co |

Dysfunctional12:Lol Okay. You have won. Clap for yourself. You are really dysfunctional, true. Idiot. Go collect your medal actually from Amadioha |
Dysfunctional12:It's clear you need isolation. Anumanu. Dysfunctional Amadioha's sacrifice. You are dead already, so no need again. |
Dysfunctional12:Amu anu. Amadioha take your life for sacrifice |
I think the same way you have birth defects in humans is same way you see them in other animals and even plants. If you ask agriculturists, they will tell you how it came about. So, there's nothing really strange in this as science has a way of explaining this. |
Dysfunctional12:Amadioha keep dealing with you, as it already shows you are a confused, dysfunctional boy. |
Ehyah Sorry guy. This is common in Lagos and with Toyota cars especially Corollas. The only time I take my Corolla to Lagos is when I'm sure where I'm going to has a fenced car parking space. Sorry once again |
Dysfunctional12:Amadioha destroy your generation........ retarded fool. |
