Jobs/Vacancies › Re: How Does One Answer This Strange Interview Question by henryobinna(m): 12:47pm On Oct 15, 2021 |
mumumugu: This was in the 1980s when unemployment was high. A small company advertised a sales position in a local newspaper. It wasn’t clear what they actually sold and I didn’t have much experience, but it was close to where I lived, so I applied by letter anyway, and to my surprise was invited for an interview.
He asked me, “What do you think the purpose of life is?” and that question definitely caught me off guard.
The strange question must have at least revealed I was paying attention, because my immediate response was, “Why would you ask me such a question?”
“It reveals a lot about a person I’ve learned,” the business owner replied.
At that age I was totally unprepared. I was ready to explain sales strategies.
So I needed a moment. My first thought was that this might be an indirect way to learn about the religious convictions of a person, and that this might be a secret demand.
Still I managed to come up with a coherent answer, but I don’t recall what I actually said.
Eventually I didn’t get the job, which wasn’t a big deal. However I’ve always kept wondering whether the question was asked because of his religious beliefs, or that it was in fact an assessment relevant to sales positions.
Either way, the answer to such a question is always revealing.
From quora The purpose of life is to serve and worship God. Outside of that, there's absolutely no purpose for life. Human life and that of animals are absolutely useless if you look at it from a third party perspective. How you figure this out is by asking yourself: what are we actually doing on Earth? Absolutely nothing! Just repeating a cycle. |

First of all Peter obi admitted to some of the offense of not he committed of not listing all is companies when asked when he became the governor which is a crime but na Nigeria na anything goes since even the president is culpable while will the governor's own be different . Some countries are the moment are already investigating like Australia and some other sane countries that if any government officials is found guilty will be punished by law but here will support criminals because he's our brother or we're of same belief. Later ona go say Nigeria no good. where in my reply did I say anything about asset declaration? I don't fully understand what the law says with respect to that so I didn't say anything about it. I only talked about an area which I know something about. I don't even understand your response maybe you should reply according to what I wrote up there. |

konkonbilo: as in ehn.. This rubish can only happen in country like Nigeria. People go to jail in developed countries for his type of offense but since it's Nigeria emotion it's always attached to it and you see people supporting criminals. We still have a long way to go in this country. no, people don't go to jail for opening businesses in other countries irrespective of the countries' tax laws. Every known billionaire has businesses registered in countries with low tax rates, many companies that you and I know have their headquarters in countries with lower tax rates. Even in the USA well known billionaires including their immediate past president, take advantage of different tax avoidance measures inorder to pay less taxes, it is not a crime in any part of the world to reduce the amount of tax you pay long as you didn't commit any crime in the process. Some of you need to read some journals on businesses. It's not surprising for someone to have an account or a business in a different country. If you let the taxman, he'll take 100% of your income, it's your job as a smart business man to pay as little tax as possible within the boundaries of the law. |

LibertyRep: How long does it take for banks to block a card and issue a replacement again?
The issue is lack of trust and not necessarily the card. it might not necessarily be trust alone, the boss might be masking his ulterior motives with 'lack of trust', the boss might go ahead and make transactions with his card only to claim the guy has defrauded him. The guy initially shouldn't have created anything with his personal email, he should have helped his boss figure out his(boss) own login details and used the boss' ad account for the whole thing. Now that it has gotten to this stage, he should go meet his boss at the office and explain things to him and suggest blocking of card as the best solution. Since the boss is not tech-savvy or obviously a dummy that can't even understand anything. If the boss is dumb enough not to remember his Password and dumb enough not to know passwords can easily be replaced by requesting to change old one, he won't have issues accusing the guy of creating all these problems so as defraud him(boss). Block the card. And don't sign any stupid undertaking no matter what. Because that might your first step of going to jail on crime you have no idea of. |

I don't think it will stop. Corruption is everywhere in this country. Everywhere! Even in the family. sometimes it's not even about the school having their own cut. Many times, the school rewrites their own version/edition of the books. That way, the schools take everything. |

Paxxcarl: Govt should Make dollars easily available to masses and designated banks on paper this seems to be the solution but in reality it won't work because the problem is bigger. See the demand for dollars is higher than what the CBN can supply. If the CBN lifts the limit already placed on the amount of the dollar businesses are allowed to get, the CBN would quickly run out of dollars which would result in a much wores crisis than what we have because there won't be a single dollar. Anyone available would be sold at a premium price. The reason the CBN doesn't have enough dollars is because the country in general doesn't earn enough dollars. Remember a huge chunk of it is already being used for importation of crude oil products. Baba the problem is big and it didn't start today. It's a result of the decades long mishandling of the economy. |

jjman2322: This is why a good business school is needed in Nigeria.. People dont understand Economics 101
First of all, CBN official rate is like 410, so converting any FX inflow to naira means you will get it at 410... Now let me ask you, your uncle in USA has $10,000 for you. Will you tell him to wire the $10,000 to nigeria for N4,100,000, or will you find a third party who needs to pay his supplier in China,India, and sell it to him for 550 (N5,500,000) ? This is whats basically happening.
As someone in the manufacturing, let me try and explain whats going on. There is severe shortage of USD. Lets assume you need raw materials worth $500,000 for the month, you may be lucky to get $5,000 in a month from your bank/cbn (through LC OR BILL FOR COLLECTION), so you now have to go to blackmarket for the rest.
Abokifx just publishes prevailing rate.. Abokifx is irrelevant when it comes to demand and supply.. Im too tired to explain more, but the solution is simple.. CBN needs to provide more USD to the big companies who need it, and the black market price (REAL DOLLAR PRICE) will drop..
The reason why goods are going up in prices (TV, PHONE, AC, FOOD, etc), even though officially dollar is 410, is because NOBODY IS GETTING 410, or even when they do its minimal.. Yes you can get PTA (Travel allowance) from your bank, but thats only like $4000.
The real problem is when as a manufacturer you need $1m.. Good luck getting that in 10 years....
There is real demand for USD from local companies here for at least $500M a day, and CBN is barely giving 10% of that.. See the problem
How much do you think NESTLE spends daily on USD, or Nigerian breweries... Quick example, indomie is made with tapioca starch, Potasium & sodium carbonate, sodium tripolyphosphate, riboflavin which are imported.. They must probably use $millions weekly just for import... So they go to black market = price jump in finished product... Hope i made some sense.. I'm glad you took your time to write this at least we won't have silly people insinuating absolute madness. The next problem is, does the CBN have enough dollars to give? If say the CBN starts selling as many dollars as needed by actual businesses, for how long would the CBN sell this dollar before it runs out of dollars? Naturally, Nigeria (cbn) doesn't receive much dollars to satisfy the need of the market, that was one of the reason for the limitation in quantity to be sold. |

TimeSpaceWizard: Except you are into advance fee fraud, asking for all fx to be converted to naira and all dorm acct shut down as well as closure of all bdc shouldn't bother you.
Granted that Nigeria is not a net exporter of products which will organically strengthen the currency and you can't actuate export immediately but you can do something and that is what the immediate solution is.
I do not really care about about these yahoo yahoo ventures that much to hate you as long as your hustle does not affect mine, but be reasonable in your comment otherwise I will ask you how long you have been stupid, though I will keep that question aside for now until you respond again with bitterness.
That's when I will attempt to ask you how long you have been stupid You must think everyone is as stupid as yourself and that is why you just like your illiterate in chief assumes everyone who earns USD or asks for the rate is into fraud. How dumb can an individual be? Maybe I shouldn't have engaged a low life that should have been living in the caves, in the first place. Don't worry, even the FG that sell crude oil is into advance fee fraud. Don't you think so? Dummy |

Buckeyemedia1: Nigerians & hypocrisy, why must they get their information from abokifx, did anyone make them the official website for forex info? Naijas must always look for a scapegoat, whilst the truth is that the lazy population with no innovation have not been able to export their commodities for foreign exchange, & are always look for a scapegoat. Should you be blaming Nigerians or the mishandlers of the economy? The root cause of the high exchange rate is simple, we all know this but somehow think by the CBN fixing the rate would automatically boost the economy and by extension the value of the naira. If the CBN is sure thier crazy approach is working, they should allow the market fully determine the value of the naira. |

TimeSpaceWizard: The Feds created a monster and fed it for decades and it becomes a Draco, and you think closing the bank account of AbokiFX is the best way to kill the Draco?
All you have to do is kill BDC and convert all domiciliary accounts to naira, and pay out all incoming fx in local currency.
Even when you do this, watch out how cryptocurrencies will soar.
In essence, it is not too late but almost too late. do you guys even know the root cause of Naira having low value? You think converting all domiciliary account to naira would solve your problems? People are chasing shadows while ignoring the real problem. Once again, nobody buys the naira. Nigeria doesn't export products to foreign countries that would require them to exchange their currencies to naira to buy. Nobody buys the naira oga. Doing what you suggested would only create serious tension than the CBN can handle. E be like you and the CBN guy dey smoke same weed |

alizma: You don't know how their action can work against the CBN measures to bring the rate down. About 80% of the people using the black market get information on the rate from their site, now that BDC has been stopped, it is illegal for them to continue to post rate for the business they are not allowed to run again but unfortunately this guys can use their platform to create artificial rise in the rate which will eventually create rush among the buyers and before you know it, the artificial rate becomes the actual rate on the street (black market). The only rate that should be publish is the bank rate, whatever you get your own outside is your own business which you can share as an individual but not as an organized body. you actually don't know what you're saying. Do you realize that currencies are actually traded? |

My suggestion is simple, allow Nigerians to spend at least $3000 using their naira master and visa cards.
The rate will drop significantly, wonder why CBN have not implemented that. why do you think it'll drop drastically? I personally think it'll skyrocket. Because more people would be spending dollars more and more which is actually what the CBN wants to curtail. |

solaceTK: My name is ThankGod Ani, I want to share my experience with Amgray Logistics, I started using them last quarter of last year, at the beginning everything was going well until around January this year when they couldn't account for a pair of shoes that was delivered to their office on the 23rd of December .I wanted to stop doing business with them but their boss Maltida called and apologized saying they probably misplaced it during pack up for that week's shipment and promise to take extra care in handling my goods subsequently. I let it slide, refunded the customer and compensated him well. Everything was fine again until 11th of May this year when I had many laptops delivered to their US office, among them was a lot of 3 HP EliteBook Folio1040 G2 laptops I bought for 701.93 dollars, this was signed for and received by Mr. Gomez, and just as they normally do they sent me the delivery notifications of all the laptops they received for me that day, including the lot of 3 laptop (I will be attaching delivery notification email I got from them that day). However, when my goods arrived the lot of 3 HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G2 were nowhere to be found, I quickly contacted them via email they told me they would look into the matter and get back to me, after series of email messages to them, I woke up one Thursday morning and saw a mail from them saying "your 3 HP laptops replaced" I asked them to show me the laptops so l will see if they are the exact laptops, they told me they already moved it to their shipping warehouse that I would see them when l receive them. They charged me 47k plus for the shipping, when they arrived behold they were mainly scraps, 1 working HP 15 AMD Laptop, 1 dead tablet laptop and 1 HP 840 G3 Scraps that has no screen, no battery, no RAM, and no hard drive. I was very upset, I sent them a mail expressing my anger, but got no response, I sent Maltida messages on WhatsApp she told me she was not feeling well that she would call me, after 2-3 days she called and said she was not aware of the laptops they sent me because she had been down and that the 3 missing laptops that they probably mistakenly put them in another persons package, but she would personally get 2 working laptops and send to me and promised that they would not charge me for the shipping, I asked her to give me a shipping credit instead, but she refused and said that l shouldn't be angry and that it will not happen again. They sent 1 HP 15 AMD laptop and 1 HP Pavilion 14 laptop as the 2 replacements she promised. However, while we were still on that, they again misplaced another laptop, An ALIENWARE M15 I bought for 937.54 dollars delivered to their office on the 24th of June signed for and received by Mr. Seun alongside a DELL laptop. They sent me their delivery notifications as usual, however, they put the Dell in my box and made the Alienware disappear. I contacted them, they told me they received 5 laptops for me within the week of shipment whereas it was 6 laptops that delivered for me within that week of which their delivery notifications email attest to my claim. when the 2 last replacement laptops arrived, the HP 15 was working, but the Pavilion 14 would only turn on but shows nothing on the screen, amazingly, they still charged me for the shipping. I contacted them venting my anger once more, Maltida called me and requested that I send all the laptops they sent as replacement for the lot 3 HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G2 back to their Lagos office. I Packed them up and sent them back to Lagos and was charged 5k for the warebill on the 24th of July, their Lagos office confirmed picking them up on the 26th July, since then till now they are yet to refund me for the 4 laptops that they took totaling 1,639.47 dollars not to talk of all the money they charged me for shipping those scraps to me totaling over 70k. They even stopped responding to my messages on email and whatsApp, Maltida even blocked me on her own WhatsApp. On 31st of August after I sent them messages via email and WhatsApp informing them that l would take any action l deem fit to recover my cash from this Septmeber, I was called by a man who said he was Maltida's husband telling me to exercise patience that they would refund me, which was the same story they told me on the 26th JULY, I insisted that he gives me a date this time, he refused and even threatened that the worst l can do is go on social media, and if I do so, he can even claim that they didn't receive those laptops after all it will be my word against theirs ,but he forgot l have all the evidences including pictures, short videos and even audio recordings of our conversations on calls. He even pointed a case of Adelove shipping how he folded with some people's money and nothing happened. Are they planning on doing same? I will attach some of the screenshots of all the things l said above. And whenever, more evidences are needed l will present them for all to see .
