Things are getting more difficult, recently I travelled to Edo, operating grounding and selecting engine, earning 1500 daily and spending 1k on food.sometimes when there's no work,I would spend the money I saved on food...l spent a month there and still ended up begging people to give me transport fare of 2500..

Hello nairalanders, please this is urgent and involves Life. Come to our rescue.

On Thursday evening, a family friend was Kidnapped on his way back home after work. As his normal way of doing things, he called his wife before leaving the office at Area-1, Abuja and heads home to Kuje... After almost 2 hours, when he didn't get home, his wife started calling him but couldn't reach him, she knew something was wrong and immediately informed everyone of us.

That same evening, a number called her saying her husband is in their custody and demanded a sum of 5 million naira before he would be released. They allowed the husband to talk for about 5 seconds, and she confirmed it was him. They also called his younger brother who resides in Lugbe and told him same thing.

From their voices, and English it was 100% cleared they are Hausa/Fulani. We reported at the police station in Kuje and Lugbe... They only said they'll let us know if they have any lead. Yesterday, they gave an ultimatum of 4pm, and said they'll take his life if we didn't comply. As at this morning they called and still demand same thing saying we are wasting time.

Please anyone with information on what can be done or how to trace a number should please come to our rescue. I've personally tried to get someone who can help out, but to no avail...

Edited - Someone advise I should take down the number, so that unknown person will not complicate the issue, cause of the person's safety!

Hmm who's the kidnapped to you?? sharing their numbers here is not the best at all, some people would have started calling the numbers and causing them which won't have the problem solved. Publicizing their numbers here might infuriate them more. Continue negotiating and silently finding the solution...

Adonbilivit ho haa! Anyways for me, I would rather study pharmacy than medicine. Reason being pharmacists achieve more in shorter periods after graduation than doctors. Pharmacy can thrive anywhere but a doctor needs some sort of synergy and help to make it soon.
Apart from the Federal Hospitals where doctors are heavily pampered right from their days of housemanship to consultancy, pharmacists are already on the move with or without the hospitals after their internship.


I have many pharmacy friends who are into sales representative stuff, retail and different kind of supplies. They supply drugs to different locations with different demands. Also, once you have drugs, an illness is half cured. And there are consultant pharmacists who are good in what they do that you may not readily need a doctor. Those pharmacology and pharmacodynamics versed guys etc.


As for those saying doctors are in high demand abroad, even so are other health professionals. A consultant doctor friend once revealed that majority of the doctors who travel abroad are those who have been sitting for their consultancy exams repeatedly and not passing it, they moved overseas. I know someone who spent about 5 years but couldn't get his consultancy. He is now in Saudi Arabia. Several of them are in UK too.


The OP is one reason there is so much bitterness existing between doctors and other health professionals. For people like him, it's usually a status thing. I know some village guys who read medicine in school because their families were hell bent on having a doctor as a status symbol. Against someone whose parents allowed to naturally chose medicine as a course, you will see different exhibition of class, temperament, and carriage etc. IT'S VERY WRONG TO CHOOSE A COURSE FOR YOUR CHILDREN AGAINST THEIR NATURAL ABILITIES AND POTENTIALS..

I agree with some of your points, but I will never allow any of my children to study biochemistry, l ignorantly chose it in jamb with the hope of transferring to medical course, but here in kd, the transfer is only meant for indigen, lately I was given mls at sokoto federal University (udus) but insecurity is really discouraging!!

When j was trying to do the test few weeks ago , I was logged out 3times and automatically disqualified, I just tried it today and I was allowed to take the test... nothing is risky here, unless you've done the test already, even if you've done it already you can't retake the test
