@tpia Yes it is, I am not disputing that, but when kids go to $56K tuition school, that is just a drop. @Manny People can earn that amount no wahala, but Okonjo is not earning that amount, has she been on $357K all her life? @Nchara I know you are defending her because she is from the east, do not worry, Olusegun Aganga can also buy an $8m house na, shebi na Goldman sachs hin dey abi? One day one day, you will defend people because they are worth defending not because he or she is your kinsman, have a good day. |
@Nchara I am not in the US, I have provided a guideline that we can use to sort out this mess, just please give me the scholarships as listed and links to prove they got those scholarships and I will concede she did not spend a dime on her kids higher education. |
@Nchara You said they took loans, I disputed it, now you are saying they did not take loans but they were on scholarships, the scholarships I checked said it is only for $35K, which one is it now? Please fill in the Gaps with links, at least this will help us track how much was spent on the kids education. Undergraduate Studies Scholarship Child 1=> Child 2=> Child 3 => Child 4 => Post Graduate Scholarship Masters Child 1=> Child 2=> Child 3 => Child 4 => Post Graduate Scholarship PhD Child 1=> Child 2=> Child 3 => Child 4 => Thank you for your anticipated co-operation. |
@Nchara So why were you guys saying her children are loaded when they are paying loans back, and does it make sense to you that NOI with all her wealth will allow her children to go and take some loans, bros try something else, your stories are not adding up. Nchara abeg give us links to where the MD and PhD guy got scholarships, not all MDs and PhDs are on scholarship now haba. |
@Nchara The merck minini is for up to $35K shikena, that is not enough for 1 year tuition, abeg try something else. @Nchara, please list all the places where she is on their board and I will get what they are paying her out with taxes as well. @Manny Prof. Achebe is not poor, I know he is comfortable but comfortable enough to buy $8m house in abuja? |
@Nchara I am still loading your PDF, I do not see where her son was on scholarship in your write up, can you highlight it, the NOI-Polls was set up by her so she is probably spending money on it and not earning anything from it. Net Salary being $357,000 negates what is on the internet as per salaries at the World Bank, abeg can we have an independent link like that of FT or other reputable organisations? @efisher How many people who work at the World bank earn 500K per day, we are talking about Ngozi not some other people abeg. |
I am not accusing her of buying the house, I am almost certain that she did not (though there is question mark on the debt forgiveness consultancy), her children went to schools that cost $56,000 per annum on tuition talk less of other things, she no dey pay tax? Abeg fear God nau. Do not bring tribe into this, we are discussing NOI and a 1.2 billion naira house. Bros most of those institute stuff are pro bono work and even if she earns, it is usually a pittance that is heavlily taxed. Let her declare her assets, is she not a public official? |
@Nchara With a Salary of $357,000 hope you know it will take her 21 years of not touching her salary to get $8 million dollars, was it sand they used to pay for their children prestigious education? Abeg try something else jare, just pray that she does not own any $8m house in Nigeria as that shows that she is as corrupt as dem dem. |
@Manny Please give me the titles of her books so I can search them out, meanwhile, do not compare Okonjo to Obama or clinton, has she sold as many as Chinua Achebe? Is Achebe worth $10m? Please go and find out how the publishing industry works. |
@Nchara During those 21 years she did not need to pay bills abi, she did not have mortgage, abeg find below link to salaries of World Bank Directors. http://www.glassdoor.com/Salary/The-World-Bank-Salary-E41195_P2.htm Even Sanusi who is a prince can not tell me he is living in a 1.2 billion naira house paid by him. |
@Nchara I know many well known surgeons in the US who can not afford this, heck, I know one of only a few brain surgeons who is a Nigerian and he is definitely not living in an $8m dollar house. @Manny How much does she earn? I know she does not earn enough to buy an $8 million house and has not written a book that sold as much as Obama's books. |
I am not even accusing her of owning the house, the authenticity of the article or story has not been confirmed yet, in saner climes, an investigation will be done to ascertain the genuineness of the story, what I am pissed at is people saying she can afford it. |
Abeg do not insult our intelligence, people should tell us how much she earns for her to have 1.2billion naira to spend on a house, that is $8 million, are you guys for real, only hollywood stars and the ilk own such things, if she indeed owns an $8m house, then she has been dipping her hand into the bloody jar. |
Have the inmates taken over the bloody asylum? Privatize what? Common Seun you are smarter than this, it is the business of government to give free and qualitative primary and secondary school education and even public tertiary institutions should be free to those with excellent brain power (scholarships). |
Worst case they deport her to Canada, she should go there and explain to them, immigration offences are not criminal. |
Okay he send the Jets, no wahala, but, he invited them, you can not summon someone whose help you need. |
How will he get to Abuja, by road? |
Boyo always makes good points, I think we need to solve this issue of dollarisation of allocation, we need Boyo to debate Sanusi on that. |
Karl is now talking about Lagos enjoying most of the subsidy, 18 million people enjoying more than 142 million, trying to balkanise people abi, let me entertain you a little bit. How much does the FG make from Lagos state and what has the FG done in Lagos. I supported the Lekki toll gate because I can at least see what people will be paying for and palliatives were in place, you can take BRT if you are not ready to pay the toll, by the way, we want a deregulation of the downstream sector in a transparent manner not this boju boju way GEJ is going about it. |
Karl Max should stop deceiving people with faulty statistics, the premise of your calculation is wrong and misleading, the subsidy is 1.3 trillion because of corruption. |
I find it funny when people accuse El-Rufai, he made Abuja what it is today and he has a right to talk. |
@ekt The price at this time is not fluctuating due to demand and supply but because the Gas companies are taking into consideration the economic situation of their people, Nigeria wants to leave us to the mercies of capitalist, haba, in a country where any set of people can form association and start charging whatever they like with little or no oversight. |
We know Sanusi is making sense, he is also talking about the corruption, but, we need the government to fight the corruption first before they deregulate, if I hear one more reference to telecommunications, I will slap somebody online. |
Hyenas snatching food from Lions is because the lions allow it, who born hyenas where Lions are no matter the number, some of those documentaries show lions that are inexperienced or just fed, hyenas know who is their baba for jungle. |
@Karl Max So it is exchange rate now abi, okay, in 2008 dollar was exchanging for around #130, lets even say #120, in 2011, it was #150, that is a 20% increase, can that now justify a 300% increment in subsidy payment? Abeg try another one. |
@Onlytruth If you have the people behind you, you will tear them apart, all you need to do is take care of the armed forces, especially the GOCs and the brigade of guards. |
May God punish whoever is posting this nonsense, please find a link to oil prices fluctuations from 2003 to 2010. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_to_2011_world_oil_market_chronology http://www.wtrg.com/prices.htm As can be seen we had the highest price in 2008 and yet subsidy was under 500 billion Naira as prices improved towards the end of the year and we were shipping 33 million liters of fuel o (2011 was 35 million liters), abeg tell Dizeani to supply you another set of data, this one don fail. Prices were hitting 130 dollars per barrel in 2008. Oya find below the prices of oil for the 2000s http://www.nyse.tv/crude-oil-price-history.htm Please note that average price of crude in 2008 was $98.24 dollars per barrel while for 2011 was $93.15, abeg make una dey fear God. |
May God continue to bless that man, we know subsidy removal is good if done transparently, a situation where we are being made to pay for the corruption in NNPC is not acceptable. |
@Karl Your minister said imports moved from 33 million to 35 how did subsidy almost triple when prices were higher in 2008 than 2011? Lagos also pays the highest of VAT in Nigeria and we do have our oil offshore, abeg shift. |

@Jensimi, he is even working with flawed figures, as at 2008 we were importing "33 miilion liters" according to PPPRA documents, yet in 2011 it is "35" million and subsidy has tripled. |
