An electronics dealer in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, Lukman Lambo, may have to undergo a surgery to regain the use of his left eye.

The injury was inflicted on him by soldiers, who also dragged him on the street. It was said that the girlfriend of one of the soldiers had a disagreement with Lukman’s younger brother, Saheed.

Saheed and the lady, identified simply as Dasola, were neighbours on Itulubajo Lane, Alhaji Street, Ikorodu. It was learnt that the duo were lovers, until a few weeks ago when a disagreement over money strained their relationship.

It was gathered that some residents clashed around 11am on Saturday, November 11, in the house where Saheed lives and Dasola went to watch the altercation.

Saheed was said to have rebuked her for poking her nose into a situation that did not concern her. At about 5pm on that day, Dasola reportedly led her soldier boyfriend in company with three other soldiers to Saheed’s residence.

The soldiers did not meet Saheed at home, but they descended on his elder brother, Lukman, who was on a visit. The victim revealed that one of the soldiers believed to be Dasola’s boyfriend rained blows on his face.

He said he was handcuffed to a motorcycle while one of the soldiers rode the bike and dragged him on the street. Lukman said the soldiers left him when blood started coming out from his eyes.

The case was reported at the Igbogbo Police Station and Dasola was arrested. Saheed explained that a week before the incident, he had taken Dasola to an inn in the community.

He said after the date, he gave her N1,500, but she rejected it, insisting that she would collect N2,500. Saheed said, “She later collected the N1,500, but tore my clothes.

Afterwards, she would abuse me whenever she saw me. On Saturday, November 11, my friends fought in our compound and she came. I told her she was nosy. We abused each other and she left and later came back with the soldiers to intimidate me.”

Mynd44:
While I agree that women should have a higher number of representation in government and have more voice in decision making, your point that they should be prioritized is wrong.

In fighting partriachy, we should be careful not to raise another type of evil. Women should have equal choice and not favored. Give a level playing field and allow everyone be able to slug it out.

As for women in government, I think it is important as there are decisions that men might not get because life is a bubble and a lot of people see life from their own point, we miss some key issues; take sanitary pads for examples. There has been a campaign for it to be free or atleast subsidized for women as it is an essential health material.

How can we subside condoms when sex is optional but ignore sanitary pads when half the population face it monthly whether or not they like it (except when you take drugs to move it). There are things men just dont get about women because we are simply not women.

So yes, we need a feminist approach. More female representation, more female voices, paying more attention to their needs, complaints and create laws and do more to make their lives safer, better and easier

As for crime, beter laws on harrassments, laws on domestic violence, inheritance and rights.

Crime against women continue since because the people that they can get away with these crimes. I don type too much

An aggrieved Nigerian man took to Facebook to pen down an open letter to Nigerian girls in Italy, who he claimed are the only blacks prostituting in Italy.

Akpoka Desmond Akpoka who said these girls should be ashamed of themselves, wrote;

Every Nigeria girl in italy has the best opportunity so far in life to transform from worst to best while living in italy.One thing i don’t understand is, if they are not ashamed being the only black prostituting in italy.

Italy is not a country which the only means of surviving is not prostitution,you can work and you can go to school,all of these cost you nothing but only 4 hours of your 24 hours.

Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, who was accused of demanding for sex for a movie role by a lady identified as Eniola Omoshalewa Eunice, has petitioned the Lagos State Police and is offering 20K for information that can lead to the arrest of the lady.

Yomi Fabiyi who had before now disclosed that he will arrest and prosecute the lady lying against him in an interview earlier today, wrote;

So, News of award winning singer, Davido signing another artiste to his record label, has been trending online today.

Davido announced the signing of the artiste known as Peruzzi on the official Instagram page of his label, Davido Music Worldwide.

The announcement was made with a photo of Davido, some other crew members and the artiste supposedly signing his contract.

However, Nigerians and their prying eyes have now discovered that Peruzzi was actually holding his pen to a blank A4 paper leading many to speculate that the artiste actually, never signed any contract and all they did was totally fake

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned two men for allegedly using the name of a dead Surveyor to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.

The accused, Moses Ayodele and Oluwatobi Ononuga, were arraigned at Ikeja Magistrate’s Court, sitting at Ogudu, for impersonation, forging of stamp and seal belonging to the late surveyor.

The accused were said to have conspired with others still at large, to commit felony to with impersonation and forgery, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Ayodele and Ononuga were also accused of forging a stamp and seal belonging to a deceased registered surveyor, late Victor Okolo to prepare counterfeit survey plans to unsuspecting members of the public, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 365 subsection (1) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

However, a petition signed by Barrister Shamsideen Olaleye, who acted as solicitors to Gracias Property and Sylvia Property, claimed that Ayodele presented himself as a registered surveyor to their companies and they have had him on the list of the companies’ consultants as one of the companies registered surveyors.

According to the petition, Ayodele has drawn many survey plans for many individuals who had purchased landed properties from the companies without any of them suspecting that the survey plans were fake.
