This morning I woke up on the bright side, hopeful about starting my journey after NYSC.

I saw the notice about Kaduna Polytechnic and prepared myself fully. I borrowed ₦5,000 just for transport and photocopying, since they said we must bring 10 photocopies of all credentials. I printed my CV, wrote an application letter, and made 10 copies each of my NYSC certificate, statement of result, and other documents.

This was my first application after NYSC, so I gave it my all.

When I got to the Central Administrative Block, to my shock, they simply told me it was closed.

Just yesterday, there was no notice of any deadline. Today, I’m left stranded — transport wasted, photocopies wasted, money wasted.

Right now, I honestly feel depressed. I struggled to put this money together, only for everything to go down the drain without even getting the chance to submit.

Sometimes it feels like the system doesn’t care how much we struggle as young people trying to build our future.

nobody is completely shielded from indoctrination. Knowingly or unknowingly we are all getting indoctrinated. A lot of brainwashing is going on through media programming, Religion, government,school, family,culture,jobs,societal values e.t.c. it would be self-deception to think you are completely immune to all these forces i mentioned.

If a full adult has to work for N30k, I would suggest a skill upgrade and a switch of career.

I once worked in a company in Lagos where I completely forgot my salary. I get about N300k in a week from the side from Ago tanker drivers. Omo, life was sweet in those days.

Life in Nigeria doesn't revolve around you. Go out there in the streets and hear people's story.some private school teachers earn 30k or less monthly. You seem to be out of touch with the reality on ground.

It's not always good to learn from personal experience. Sometimes you learn from others mistakes.. If I had taken relationship matters seriously and learnt from experienced people, I probably wouldn't have experienced the trauma I went through 3 years ago. I don't agree with you. Gehgeh is an urhobo guy and there is something I love so much about the urhobo culture. They don't worship women over there,so this makes their women to be less entitled unlike most gals today. The urhobo culture sees man as the king or the prize and places more responsibility on the women to work and care for the family. We need to change the narrative that a man is to work all his life like a slave for the family. Many men are dying in silence because of this way of thinking. To even make matters worse the women you are toiling day and night to take care of don't even appreciate or give a bleep about you cos women naturally tend to value a relationship or marriage that they have invested so much in. Urhobo is one of the few places you see a man married to three wives and those wives are very hardworking and loyal to their husband. Gehgeh has come to liberate men from years of unappreciated servitude to women.

Anybody telling you Nigeria is not hell is deceiving you. Out here you work so hard for little. Everyday I keep imagining how an average Nigerian is managing to survive in this tinubulation. Both lazy and hardworking people have now turned beggars,yet someone will want to compare Nigeria and USA.
