The Labour Party candidate for Ahoada West state constituency in Rivers State, Agidah Boma Carson, has been kidnapped.

A lawyer and friend of the victim, Mr. Chidozie Okoli, shared the news of Agidah’s kidnap on Twitter.

He said that the victim had weeks ago rejected an offer of N10 million to step down from contesting for the Ahoada West state constituency seat in the rescheduled Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

However, he did not state who made the offer.

Agidah’s sister, Joyce Ugbosu, confirmed the kidnap to The Herald on Thursday.

She said that the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, March 8, at Charlyson Hotel, Ishaya, Mbiama.

“After his campaign activities on March 7, he went to his hotel to relax.

“We heard two versions of the story, that when they woke up in the morning in the hotel, they didn’t find him. He was not in his room, the door was open, and his phones and everything were there.

“There is another version that came in that his PA (personal assistant) dropped him. After freshening up, the PA dropped him that he (Agidah) wants to go and ease himself. And after dropping him, he (PA) came back but didn’t see him.
“The receptionist said he walked into the hotel but after a while, he walked out. Different versions,” she told this newspaper.

She added that the hotel manager has been arrested and the receptionist is expected to be picked up today.

Ugbosu, who runs an IT firm, Infosys Digital Solutions, and a school, Lakewood British School, said her brother worked with her.

She said that Agidah helped her manage both firms, describing him as a very loyal and hardworking young man.

The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Grace Iringe-Koko, could not be reached for comments.

Several calls placed to her known phone number were unanswered as of press time.

A text message sent to her phone was also not replied.

The Director of Strategic Communication, Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Momodu has tackled the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, for deciding to postpone the March 11 gubernatorial election after he refused to delay the announcement of the results for the February 25 presidential election, IGBERETV reports.

With the turn of events after the election, the G5 would have been a waste of effort. Apart from rivers result which is heavily contested by LP, no other G5 state came close to winning their state. It wouldn't have made any difference if you ask me.

Presidential election is totally different from Guber election, imagine Nigeria state with no state security yet the governors are abusing their power, imagine them in possession of the state security apparatus.

Who ever wins the Delta state election would also want to have majority of the state assembly members elected so all the elections would be matter. If you majority of your party members got elected as state assembly, your part is likely going to win the governorship election.

LP don't have reasonable portion in the outcome of either Guber or state assembly in Delta state.

Omo Agege would have been Senate president under Tinubu's presidency had he contested for Senate seats, him loosing the election means loosing out personally

While in the case of Sheriff, Gov Okowa stepped on some toes. His candidate loosing means he could be dragged for years just like Ibori..Ibori's main reason for the dragging was because he and some governors in SS then did not want GEJ to be picked as Yaradua's VP, story for the other day.

So the election battle in Delta state is between APC and Pdp, though there might be some remnants left for the LP though but not chunk
