RomanceRe: Advice Needed... Bad Break Up by HighChief4(m): 1:44am On Apr 05, 2012
Kingsleyinfo: bros na which kind advice u dey find again?
now let me share this with you. Am not trying to say that my girl is good o, but here it goes.
I and my girl were having some issues that we couldn't really resolve. The issue was so bad that we were both toying with the idea of seeing other people.( but I didn't know how bad it was untill that day.)
Then one weekend my girl calls that she is coming over, I said ok. In the night things got heated, but I just couldn't do anything, . My gal noticed and started asking me what was wrong. After a while she started by accusing me of seeing other gals, I just sat there staring at her, then she said something that suprised me. And I quote "my dear I am sorry I accused u of seeing other people, but due to the problems we have been having I started getting close to a guy at my work place and I feel really guilty cos I was giving him more consideration than was neccessary. I have let the issue btw us to blindfold me, but I came this weekend so we could have time to trash things out." yours truely also had to confess his own plans.....
Now I had no idea that I had pushed her that far with my stubbornness, that was how we resolved the issue.
Sorry for my long story, but a gal that is really repentant for any deed done, would not defend her actions.
So bro trust me no woman cheats by accident. Its a carefully thought out process.
So please runaway now, this your own does not deserve a second chance. I know you might be tempted to take her back, but u do so at ür own peril. Even my own that confessed to me I still sleep with one eye closed talkless of her that was caught.
but at the end of the day its ür call.
Bro there is nothing like pushing one too far to the extent of getting close to another guy. A good gal would break up with you first, give herself some time before getting close to another guy, so that she wouldn't be carrying emotional baggage into the next relationship. I also advise that you investigate that confession further cos that colleague might have gone father than just "getting close". She might have been having something serious with the guy and later found out you are still her best option and opted to confess before you find out yourself. These gals are way too fast and you need to be at alert all the time. A gal that truely loves a man will never enjoy another man's company.

@OP---Dont even consider taking that gal back. You should be thankful to God that there was no ring on her finger when all these events unfolded

PoliticsPrepare Your Handover Note, PDP Tells Aregbesola by HighChief4(op): 6:29pm On Apr 04, 2012
The Peoples Democratic Party has told Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola to start preparing his handover note, claiming that the opposition party will sweep the polls in 2014.

Osun PDP Chairman, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa, who stated this in Osogbo on Tuesday, said the days of the Action Congress of Nigeria in Osun were numbered.

Olaoluwa said, “It is becoming clearer by the day that the ACN has nothing to offer the people of Osun. Where is the heaven-on-earth the ACN promised?

“The transparency of the PDP congress held a few days ago is a signal to the fact that we are ready to take back Osun. We challenge the ACN to conduct local government election and see where the pendulum will swing.

“Osun people are tired of running governance on the pages of newspapers, radio and television. Osun people need action; enough of castigation of Olagunsoye Oyinlola administration.

“The Rauf Aregbesola administration should begin to work and shun pettiness. Oyinlola has been blamed for all the lapses in this government. The ACN should leave Oyinlola alone and face governance.”

But the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Sunday Akere, said the PDP was daydreaming.

Akere said, “The latest outburst of the Osun PDP shows the party as conscienceless and shameless. Here’s a party, whose over seven-year tenure was disastrous and calamitous.

“All sectors of the economy were grounded: education, health, transport, commerce, agriculture, tourism and the judiciary were rubbished by the Oyinlola government and the PDP wants us to keep silent over this sin against Osun people.

“If the Osun PDP did well while in office, why did they lose all elections in the last general election? The prayer on everybody’s lips is may Osun never witness a PDP government again. The PDP is daydreaming.”

PoliticsWhy Jonathan Has Not Signed 2012 Budget –okonjo-iweala by HighChief4(op): 6:22pm On Apr 04, 2012
The Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on Tuesday said President Goodluck Jonathan had not signed into law the 2012 budget, which was recently passed by the National Assembly, because of the need for the Executive to scrutinise the document.

She said the scrutiny became necessary because it was not always the same Appropriation Bill sent by the President that the National Assembly passed.

Okonjo-Iweala spoke with State House correspondents shortly after the meeting of the Economic Management Team presided over by Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

She said, “What we are doing now is that the National Assembly just gave us the budget back about few days ago, and of course, when they pass the budget, we have to look at the details because it is not always the same as the budget Mr. President passed to them.

“So, we are doing that work, we are looking at the details. After looking at the details, we will have a meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly on Thursday to make sure that we reconcile and understand all the changes that may have been made, and after that, we will be ready to move on to the next step. That is where we are.”

Okonjo-Iweala identified the increase of the oil benchmark price from $70 to $72 per barrel as one of the major changes carried out by legislators on the budget.

She said the change was used to reduce deficit and create additional fund for spending, which the government is comfortable with.

The minister said, “We are still ending up with fiscal deficit that is reasonable and under three per cent as well as reduced debt, that is okay.

“But now, the details, most of the specific MDAs and how the budget may have changed, that is the step we are looking at now and that takes a little bit of time, but we must do it because we will make sure we have a budget that can be implemented. We are trying to speed up the work so that we will meet with the leadership of the National Assembly on Thursday.”

Meanwhile, the Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation, Dr. Bright Okogu, told journalists that the implementation of the 2012 budget had begun though it had not been signed into law.

Okogu said the law allowed that implementation of a budget that had been submitted to the National Assembly could start in as much as it was not more than 50 per cent of the previous year’s budget.

He said, “The law allows you to start implementing the budget before it is passed so long as you do not exceed 50 per cent of the budget for the previous year. That is what the law says and we are doing that.

“So, salaries are being paid and some overheads have been released. We have also given provisional warrant for the capital to MDAs. The law also allows that and the issue of whether we can finish in December, I just want to remind you that last year, the budget took up to the last few days of the month of May before the process was finished.”

“This is the beginning of April, the budget has been passed and the analysis is being done, discussions are ongoing with the parties,” he added.

Apart from the grey areas highlighted by Okonjo-Iweala, Okogu also said the government had reservations on the issue of the Subsidy Reinvestment Programme.

He said the programme, which is to gulp up to N180bn, was to initially be integrated with the rest of the traditional budget.

Okogu said, “There is nothing wrong with that because it is in line with what we submitted for them to pass into law. We will like for them to separate it properly.”

CrimeProfessor’s Hubby Commits Suicide In Ilorin Over Cash by HighChief4(op): 4:48pm On Mar 29, 2012
Amid the euphoria that greeted the successful take off of 13th West Africa University Games, WAUG, at the University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, Monday, the sudden death of the husband of a serving professor in the institution through suicide has thrown university community into mourning.

Sources in the university told Vanguard that the deceased, Olubunmi Olademo, who was married to a professor in the Religion Department of the university, reportedly committed suicide Tuesday evening.

Vanguard reliably gathered that Olademo reportedly hung himself at a bush in the Tanke area of Ilorin, the state capital, following the alleged failure of his wife to give him money for the completion of their family house.

Sources said the man reportedly left their rented apartment in Tanke after allegedly dropping a suicide note for his family, complaining about his wife’s alleged refusal to give him the said money he had earlier requested from her.

Before hanging himself, the deceased was said to have followed up on his suicide note by calling his wife on the telephone to inform her about his intention.

It was alleged that the wife, who was said to have been disturbed by her husband’s threats to commit suicide, however, reported the incident to the police in Tanke.

It was said that when Olademo did not come home same Tuesday night, a search party was organised to look for him without success, until one of his daughters remembered that she heard her father saying that he was going to the site of their uncompleted residential building at Oke-Odo area of Tanke.

The sources said it was at this juncture that the search party combed the area and discovered his lifeless body dangling from a tree where he hung himself.

The police were said have initially arrested the deceased’s wife but released her on bail yesterday.

Olademo’s corpse was deposited at the mortuary of one of the hospitals in the town for autopsy.

The state police command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Dabo Ezekiel confirmed the incident, adding that investigations had already commenced.

Also reacting, Deputy Director, Information and Protocol of in the university, Dr. Mafouz Adedimeji confirmed the suicide story, but noted that the deceased died outside the university environment.

Meanwhile, about 3,000 athletes from various universities across West Africa are competing for trophies in the games that kicked-off Monday.

PoliticsShell: Nigeria Loses $5bn Annually To Crude Oil Thefts ! by HighChief4(op): 4:40pm On Mar 29, 2012
Revenue due to the government from Nigeria’s oil resources will dwindle further in the wake of increased crude theft in the Niger Delta region, Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC), Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu, said Wednesday.

Sunmonu, who disclosed that Nigeria was losing so much revenue to crude theft, stated that an average of $5 billion was been lost by the country
annually to oil theft.

He warned that if left unchecked, the government would receive less of revenue from oil business in the country.

He said during a meeting with the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, in Abuja that: “Nigeria is losing at least $5 billion every year as a result of criminals stealing crude oil in the delta. If we don’t stop this, I can guarantee you that the revenue from oil business to the government in particular will continue to dwindle.”

Sunmonu, however, debunked claims that Nigeria lacked adequate record of her daily crude production, saying the country had measures in place to ensure adequate accounting of crude exported from its terminals.

According to him, extreme emphasis placed on the country’s daily crude production is irrelevant when compared to the amount of revenue she loses on crude theft.

“Rather than concentrate on the quantity of crude produced, more focus should be on stopping oil theft that is costing the country $5 billion yearly. Many people are under the impression that the oil-producing companies are playing games with the amount of crude that they produce and export. I want to state here categorically that the oil business is an international business.

“The practice in terms of how you account for what you produce, how you account for what you sell is universal. The companies in this business are very big companies. The code of conduct that governs their activity is so strict that they cannot afford to play games,” Sunmonu said.

In his explanation of the existing regulatory framework of Nigeria’s oil industry operation, Sunmonu said: “Nigeria as a country has put its own regulatory framework around how you account for what you produce and how you account for what you load. At the port of loading, security agents are positioned there, the customs people are also there and apart from that, there are meters which measure what goes from your tank to the tankers.

“And reconciliations are done on both sides. It is a very well controlled operation but a lot of people think there must be games going on. But let me tell you as a Nigerian that what all of us need to worry about is the amount of the crude that is been stolen by people in the delta; people who cut pipelines to steal crude. People who steal crude to illegal refinery, which is what we should be worrying about.”

Stressing that Nigerians were unduly worried about the activities of International Oil Companies (IOCs) operating in the country, Sunmonu stated: “Nigerian should not be worrying about what Shell, Chevron and Exxon are doing. I can tell you these companies are too big to play games. What they have at stake outside of Nigeria is too big that they cannot afford to play games in any country. The international laws will go after them.

“I really want us to know that we have reputable companies handling the oil and gas operations in this country. Our greatest challenge is about criminal activities where people steal crude every day and that should be our focus because I think that the oil companies are very strong in their ethics in terms of accounting for the oil that they produce.”

Ahmed in her remarks expressed hope that Sunmonu’s visit would smoothen the relationship between NEITI and Shell especially in the conduct of the petroleum industry audit.

“Over these years, there have been missing gaps in NEITI’s engagement with the companies in Nigeria resulting in fear, distrust, information gap, mutual suspicion and resistance to comply with NEITI audit requirements in some circumstances. I hope with your visit today, a new chapter has been opened in the relationship between NEITI and companies in general and Shell in particular.

“For Shell, NEITI expects your cooperation and your influence in bringing all international oil and gas companies fully into the NEITI process especially during our on-going and future industry audit,” Ahmed stated.
