But to be honest, dear comrades in this movement, it is a really sad thing that this process has been so shrouded in gross uncertainty, seeming directionlessness, and baffling secrecy. It makes no sense to me at all as I do not understand what justification can be given to such current state of things. As eager as I am of getting the highly anticipated APL/OoE, I am MORE bothered by the manner in which the process has been handled post the July interviews. In my opinion, it is very shoddy and lacking in professionalism and excellence. And I believe it mirrors a very striking strand in the psyche and conduct of our government's leaders: DISRESPECT and DISREGARD. Our leaders generally have no regard and basic respect for us whom they lead. And it is the very silent and salient SINGULAR factor behind EVERY anomaly that exists in our country.

As with many of us, I believe I wouldn't have any problem if, by the time we were interviewed - or even at the period of vacancy announcements - it was stated that by so and so date, successful applicants will be called...orientation will begin...resumption proper would commence...etcetera. Even if it was ultimately pinned for March 2020. We would have not been in the least perturbed. Na to just dey do other things dey wait for the relevant day(s). You don't just leave things open-ended, vague and ambiguous. It smacks of disorderliness and lack of planning or sense of understanding in one's endeavours. Even in relationship seminars, they tell young people to define every relationship; that whatever is not defined can never be fine, dash dash dash. My point is simply that, in a bid to fight corruption and operate with integrity (as I believe the whole NNPC TAPE mantra is directed towards ) if there aren't certain publicly declared specific timelines, project operational modalities, and consistent update on happenings/unforeseen delays, you only sink deeper into that which you have resolved to combat, albeit unintentionally, because, with these loopholes, you give ample room for saboteurs and contradictory deeds and misdeeds from unscrupulous elements within and without the system.

I implore us to learn, therefore, as we advance in life and occupy great places by God's grace, to make things straight and plain in the open and give no room for conjectures and aspersions in the course of carrying out our responsibilities.

Any attempt for me to be more explicit than what I wrote might result to me divulging information that's internal and may not be understood by anyone who is not in the system.

The simple analogy is this, 2016 GT program ended in September 2018 and that paved way for 2019 GT program. There was no fresh recruitment between 2017-2018 other than what started in 2016. In essence, if not until January Service Executive Conversion Program (Season 4) is concluded, there won't be room for (Season 5) which Ceteris Paribus, was expected to have kicked off, the second half of this year.

Well, conversion program is expected to take place twice in a year but as I write you, They are yet to round up the one of January. So the system at the moment, is tensed and saturated....those for conversion that have been kept on hold from resuming TS are as grieved as you're.

However, one thing is certain, you all will be contacted in due course. Any form of agitations from you guys is like telling the wind, the direction it should blow...it makes no difference.

A genuine sauce from the towers just informed me that those second alertees were paid in errors as there was a clearing house mistake from the Finance Dept guys that made the reimbursement. However, he is silent on the process for collecting the money back.

So I'll advice that ALL SECOND ALERTEES send a mail to NNPC stating the double credit and asking for direction on how to refund it. Who knows if that is how your APL will locate you [b][/b]

It will be reverted when discovered. I work in the bank and so, I know what am saying. Just a matter of time. its an ERROR!!

This one that those of us who interviewed on the 1st July are experiencing a sort of reckless abandon with this t-fare reimbursement, am not understanding oh. I had hitherto surmised that those of us scheduled for 1st July were top performers in the test and should be giving preference in subsequent communications...(an assumption though, reason why I need someone to clarify me).

What's more? I belong to this class of people who believe Holiness(kind of) is prerequisite for getting this APL hence, I have not engaged in the OTHER ROOM with any babe since May the notification mail for test dropped. Perhaps, one of the reasons have made it to this extent in the process thus far...smiles

Local man at the moment, is not finding it funny and I just pray this APL drops from next week ooh if not, Local man Can not can again ooh...e no easy!!!

I have given up on advising people to stop spreading that negative thinking.

That was how my colleague's brother was ranting that DPR was not recruiting on merit, that the interview was just a formality, that he was asked the name of the senator representing his district (as if many others were not asked current affairs) blablabla.

The guy got the job eventually and could not eat his words after blackmailing DPR.

Someone I brought to Lagos - a brilliant guy but not so exposed then - that stayed with me while doing NYSC, that I was the one that shared interview tips with right in my sitting room, got NNPC job in 2012. He didn't know anybody. Although he didn't take it (on my advice too).

These are few examples of people that dont know anybody in NNPC or DPR.

Look, we can't deny that people get into these places by connection, but I have seen enough reason to believe that up to 70% is based on merit. I don't care if people don't agree but I can confidently say it anywhere. I even mentioned it in a book I wrote in 2014.

Thank you Mr. Jarus for this wonderful piece, I remember vividly during my interview when I was given the space to ask them question, What I asked was in line with issues as raised, the panel assured me that the system has always been based on merit and that I should go preach the gospel to other youth that NNPC is transparent in its recruitment process and takes into high cognizance, candidates with intellects....I have no doubts about the process thus far. THERE'S HOPE FOR COMMON MAN IN THE CORPORATION!!! NNPC is Transparent....Qoute me anywhere, We are getting in by the Grace of God without paying a dime of whatsoever in Cash or kind, without any form of political connections but strictly the GRACE of GOD and Merit Based. IAM A VOICE !
