Yet Russia is still holding on to most of those territories, despite the entire west backing Ukraine... Despite Russia standing alone?

Russia is a supper power man... The west should be ashamed they haven't pushed Russia out of Ukraine, not celebrating a minor strategic withdraw.

Ukraine have reached 100% of its capability in this war... They have reached their mobilization limit too.. Cos she has nothing else to lose... So a little progress is expected.

To Russia this is just an operation,.. Just like they are doing in Syria and other parts of the world. Russia is only concentrating limited resources in the operation to avoid being vulnerable.
