@ eldee Very well said. Kanu,Lauren and Campbell were not booed when Pompey came to the Emirates this season. In fact, a section of the crowd kept singing Tony Adam's praises, it became so embarassing, You can't compare that to Ljungberg or Cashley, I tell u that when TH14 returns to the Emirates again, he will be given a standing ovation. Smith's case is far different when compared with Diarra's. C.Ronaldo said to the whole world (after the world cup fiasco between England and Portugal where he got Rooney sent off)that it was only at the Emirates stadium that he didn't get booed. How about that? |
@ Cougar Its allright to be ambitious, but hey why not bide your time a bit? 6 months is certainly too short a time, no matter what 'silly promises' you got(i dont believe that story) We might be seeing another Nic anelka in the making becos he has already told Pompey fans that if another big club comes calling, he will be off. What does that tell u about Monsieur Diarra? |
@ Cougar Diarra was no 'big' player when he arrived at Arsenal, so I wonder how he expects to be a natural starter, Like I said earlier, AW gives u the chance to play and believes in youth development, Bye bye to Diarra, He ain't nobody yet and he missed a chance to become somebody at the ARSENAL, Hope he likes it down south, Meanwhile MR SOL Campbell is already complaining about Pompey's lack of ambition. What's he thinking? SOL, Pompey isn't Arsenal, !!!! ![]() |
@ Debosky u are right. Diarra is behaving as if he will quit football after euro 2008!!! You have a chance to break into a big 4 team and u decide to jump ship to Pompey, Ok, after Euro 2008 , what happens, he starts searching for another club ?Like u said, he's been ill advised, Nick Anelka comes to mind. He will have been greater than he is today if only if he wasn't ill advised back in 1999. |
@ Cougar Not that I am a big fan of Diarra, The reasons for leaving Chelsea seem genuine, Behind Makalele and Mikel in the pecking order, but at Arsenal, he had only Flamini in front of him. I am just looking at it from a common sense view, maybe there were other reasons anyway for his departure, Good for us though, we have made over 3 million quid from the deal. Like I said earlier, we'll see if he's made a mistake or not! |
I really dont understand Lassana. You are number 2 in the pecking order and u are getting a fair share of games in a team that is in all competitions, Joint top of the league with the mancs(f#@k goals difference) What makes him think Pompey would be that easy , There's competition there also, or has Harry guaranteed him a starting shirt also? Don't be surprised that he might be off to Watford by the end of the season. He would be guaranteed a starting shirt there!, This 22 year old lad might be making a mistake, Let's wait and see |
@ Cougar If you observed what I said earlier, I am not making excuses, I was just saying if excuses are allowed in footie, Even Derby county will have loads of it, Maybe they will say, if only we had Usmanov, we could have had Adriano on loan or bought Kaka from Milan ![]() |
@ Cougar One thing that is not acceptable in football is excuses. You talked about rooney's injury and ronnie's suspension as the cause of the slow start. Arsenal could also argue about 3 away premiership fixtures in early december in a space of one week.It has never happenned b4 in the history of the EPL, We dropped 4 valuable points, that week. Another excuse from us could be that, had RVPersie been fit all thru, we would have had more points, Really,as it stands we are toe to toe and neck to neck, and still in all competitions, |
@ Cougar I am telling you right now that AW would not lose sleep if we do not win the Carlings Cup, We dont need it. and also I can see you are a manc all thru, The ADebayors, dudus, bendtners, walcotts etc that you consider 'not good enough' have helped us to 51 points this season in the league(same as the mancs except for goal difference) and still in all competitions. |
@ cougar from your post, i guess we are saying the same thing, Maybe we should define'doesn't really care' BY fielding a second string side, shows that its not on his priority list, If he wins it, fine, all good, but if he doesn't,he won't lose any sleep. A manager that CARES about winning the Carlings Cup would have fielded a strong side in that final against Chelsea last year.AW just sees the Carlings cup as a breeding ground for his youngsters to develop and be exposed to 'big game situation' and to see how far they can go. Two cups have eluded him since he got to England, the CL and The Carlings cup, I bet AW would rather have a CL trophy than 11 Carlings cup! |
@ Cougar Just one question for you, Did he play with his first team? Or if he is really interested, would he be playing a second string side against the likes of Drogba, Lampard, Ballack,Cech and co, in the finals? Gallas, Henry,Silva and other first teamers were watching from the stands, one more thing, I hope you were just trying to be funny, when u said, 'Why did he (AW) reach the final, when he wasnt interested?, LOL, he should have allowed Arsenal to be walked over or even pulled out of the competition, ![]() Where were u when we beat Liverpool 6-3 at Anfield, or when 2nd team beat the Spuds home and away or when we beat Everton at Goodison park last season, ? |
These things even out all through the season. I am not making a brief for refs, but I really dont think they set out to favour one team over the other. They have got few seconds to make decisions and THEY MUST MAKE IT.Not an easy job to do! |
Let's be realistic.Vogts has got an uphill task in front of him. The quality in the nigerian team is not fantastic. Gone are the days when our players used to play in top teams, Barca, Juventus,Ajax,Arsenal etc, Where do they play now?Sunderland, Watford, etc, ![]() Let's see what happens in this one, I am a Nigerian, so I am optimistic, but going by the indices available, not so sure we will go far. |
Ritchboy is right.Wenger is not bothered about the Carling cup, and why would any manager be anyway?, Even Sheffield fielded a second string side against Arsenal. @ wormed up There was a time when RVP,Bergkamp,Pires,Reyes and Hleb weren't starters |
@ Debosky Are u surprised? Remember when we drew against Pompey and all of them were saying its all doom and gloom henceforth. I wonder when they would stop talking about Arsenal not winning the league. We are in January and still very much in the race, @ nateevs Four seasons without a trophy ![]() Do your calculations very well, even if we finish this season trophyless(which can't happen), it will be 3 years and not 4.Who won the FA cup in 2005?? Chelsea , Please, let's stick to facts, ![]() |
Arsene Wenger wins Manager of the month in December, A month where doomsday prophets predicted we will 'run down'. I saw a statistic earlier on today, Do u know we have only lost twice since August? The game against Boro and the Sevilla game I am loving the Arsenal FC. |
debosky:That was really funny ![]() I have a manc friend who believes that Arsenal fans shouldn't be 'slagging' Cashley, We certainly benifited more from the deal that brought Gallas to the Emirates and Gael Clichy God bless him, We won't know we've got a player like that if Cashley didn't go.Maybe he'll be made captain at Sheffield Wednesday! ![]() |
@ salehm I think Yobo should not share the blame alone, Howard signified that Yobo should leave it for him and he hesitated, I almost choked with laughter after seeing Ade bolt away, PAYBACK time, I remember Howard stoping us both at Goodison and Emirates last year, In fact it was RVPersie's unstopabble free-kick that saved our blushes last season, Everton would have done a 'double' over us |
Only one word, JEALOUSY, Even with our so called pretty football, we did break down Pompey, Just imagine if Ros or Gallas had scored in the last few minutes, Let's be frank, those who invented this game wanted it to be played beautifully and LOL, the Arsenal is doing that, And those who say, we ain't got no plan B, go and watch the Everton game again, Well done, Arsenal, Can't stop loving you!!! |
All quiet in here today, A few hours ago,the mancs crawled in here from their holes to come and say all sorts, Some even said it will be a 4 point gap by Saturday, The Arsenal will make sure y'all never crawl outta your holes again! Go Gunners!!! |
@ Coded guy Guess one cannot argue with you, Whichever way, you must win, ![]() First you were gloating here a few days ago that the pundits were right, that Arsenal would fall like a pack of cards before xmas day, oops boxing day , whatever, and celebrating like trophies had been handed to the mancs for being top on boxing day, by just a miserly point Now u are back telling us we should be ashamed that we gave up a 5 point lead once, and are now just 2 points ahead, Lord help us!!!! Whether the manc lose all their matches from now till may and u are behind by 54 points or the status quo continues or u are behind by just a point, Who cares!!!!, I can see though, that you were man enough to crawl out and spew something, Bogey teams my left foot!!!! There is no love and hate about Adebayor, He's our man, He gives 100%. He is a much better player than last season, He hustles defenders and paves way for others to score, Ask Rio and John Terry, They both said, he's one striker they hate playing against, When Arsenal's dominance at the top is being analysed and players are being pin-pointed, make no mistake,Ade's name is always there, The top scorer's sheet does not lie |
@ Jackal We all know its close,Its been like that for quite some time though , but have you thought of it? We are just refusing to give up this number 1 slot, We are half way into the league, yet the stubborn Arsenal is refusing to give way.Kolo and Eboue will be off in a few days time and I bet you, we shall surely cope well, I wish though, that Cote d'ivore exit the ANC early, so we can have them back ![]() |
@ Jackal, We got Moyes talking rubbish for the first time in his managerial career, ![]() We've made Shearer,Linekar and co look like Retards, ![]() Arsenal wll still shock many people, The new year is just a few hours away, More to come, @ Chuckdee4 Thanks, I think I remember Pantsil now, like u said, he played in defence for Ghana at the WC, Well thanks to Mr Pantsil(african brother) ,,Big ups to Matthew Upson(ex-gunner) for that back breaking goal , and the biggest thanks to Mr Howard (ex-manure) for that howler with Yobo, ![]() and not forgeting ADE for scoring the all-important third goal, Why? A chap beside me swore he was gonna miss. ![]() Is Ade really that bad or its just haters bellyaching as usual? , He's 2nd after 20 games on the scorer's sheet. |
I ain't surprised about Shearer and all his cohorts on MOTD, Those guys never gave Arsenal a chance before the season started, So, now, that Arsenal is on top, they look like idiots, That's why after the Pompey game, the predictions were that, it was the end of the show for Arsenal!!!! ![]() I think, just like AW said, they should just shut up, I saw this team at the Emirates and Amsterdam tournaments and I knew something was on the cards this season, I am happy we are back on top, Still many more games to play though, What a game on saturday, After the 1st half performance, I just thought it was done and dusted,(another shambolic performance) until the first few minutes of the second half, when the 'DUDU SHOW' was on.Great dogged, resilient performance. No team can play the physical game with us now, We are ready! Did u hear Moyes saying, the played the football(the pretty one) while we resorted to long balls ? ![]() Will someone tell Mr. Moyes that we haven't beaten Everton in the last three prem league games because we played the pretty footie(what we are known for) and they played the long balls and put 10 men behind the ball ![]() Even Fergie believes we are in pole position now, The Red and White Army is marching on!!! ![]() |
I predicted earlier on friday that there will be drama over the weekend, ![]() Even after Ronnie's penalty loss and man utd being second best all day, I still didn't expect them to lose After seeing Solano limp off,I thought it was all over,a draw was on the cards at best. Who the hell is that Pantsil guy?The guy shone like a million stars Rio's kid brother and ex-gunner, Upson had other ideas, Two brilliant headers and bank, mancs were 1-2 down!!! Its now 3 straight league games against the East Londoners with no win, ![]() It's still a long season though, Like I said, let's wait and see but one thing is certain, These set of Gunners are different, ![]() |
@ Jackal, Let's wait and see, I have got a sneaky feeling that the Hammers have got few surprises for u guys tomorrow, and Everton, its time to right the wrong that took place last season |
@ Coded guy, Yesterday(I think), when u were confused about who was numero uno at Xmas, u accussed me of picking on you and saying there was no difference between 25 and 26, Today, you have just done the same thing, The idiot mancs shouting bring on Senderos, were not even smart enough to see he wasn't dressed for the match, The point I wanted to bring out is obvious(i guess to everyone, except maybe u).Gallas has been excellent at Arsenal this season, and for all u care, u wish that our second team will be on parade, week after week, while the entire 1st team get injured @ Jackal You can't say u guys are not scared of us.It's obvious, Y'all discuss us more than u talk about the mancs Let's wait and see what happens |
@ Coded guy, what are u talking about ?Unsportmanly to wish the star players in your rival team to be injured ?While I dont really care about the opposition's injury, I saw mancs and chavs shouting alleluia here when RVP got injured and thunderous 'praise the Lord' when Hleb,Cesc and Flamini got injured around the same time. When Gallas was hobbling in the Portsmouth game,Mancs around me were so happy, 'shouting bring on Senderos', Also, u said, Wenger does not put into consideration, things like injury when buying players , HMMMN, I see, thats why we are 7th/8th on the log as predicted by some dolts earlier in the season and Teams like Spurs who have got a huge squad are in the top 4, Gosh, we relinquished 1st position for a few hours, trailing by just one miserly point and mancs can't stop saying stuffs, |
here we go again |
Vieira:Same for me, I think L'pool fans and Arsenal fans have this mutual respect for each other. I think the players also have this unexplained respect for each other, I read sometime last week that Gerrard tried to convince Henry to join Liverpool(They are good pals). Definitely, I can't stand the Mancs, the Chavs or the Spuds!!! |
lordimpaq:Or does Jackal partially support Chelsea? I will like to see what transpires between the two of 'em when Chelsea take on Manure! |
@ I-man,Ok, Continue to gloat, Am not stopping u. Remember, he who laughs last, laughs best, not he who laughs on boxing day, ![]() |
