U never to cease to amaze me, Once its Arsenal, u just get it all wrong, don't you?

Was it not Henry that wanted to leave

Oh dear, Never knew a player on contract can just decide to wake up one morning, pack his bags and head for another club, If it was like that, there would be few players on the bench.Henry was on contract at Arsenal, and the club could have prevented him from going to Barca if they wanted to.

The combo of Walcott and Eduardo has been a waste of money so far.

First of all, I can't remember Walcott and Eduardo starting a game this season and I also can't remember the two being called Henry's replacement and finally, we have scored more goals than any EPL team this season in the league and we have Ade(much maligned) as joint top goalscorer in the league, Oh dear,I-man, it hurts for the mancs to have spent over 50m quid and be behind Arsenal who, more or less, spent NOTHING , I understand the frustration but please, stop taking it out on us grin
Please, put on the Geordies black and white shirt tonight and support them all the way, grin grin grin.

Monsieur Wenger must have watched plenty of Arsenal DVDs comparing TH14 of 2-3 years ago with the TH14 of last season, He must have done the review incorporating his physical and mental ability and saw that, no chance.!!!, Titi was past it,
I like TH14 though, of course he had to give the 'David Dein' excuse as to why he left, but he has never said anything bad about Arsenal, Also heard,he follows every Arsenal game on his mobile phone and speaks regularly with the guys.

Sure Martins is a threat, but I am more than happy that our back 4 is intact and should take care of business.

I think an early goal should unsettle our host, and with that, we should nick all 3 points in this duel, Hoping for a good game though.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by HNIC(m): 8:51am On Dec 05, 2007
We are a bit short in the midfield area, but it doesn't matter, tongue
I can see the mancs are here postulating all sorts, Before the weekend, they were saying Young and Agbolanhor were better than Ade and Walcott, and that Villa guys were on a run of 4 victories and Arsenal would go down, The rest is history.
Now, they are back with Big Sam being under fire and having to win this one, huh huh
Sadly they are unable to pin-point one or two players who will do the damage(Like Big Sam will be on the pitch playing footie), Well, let's wait and see,
Last time, I heard, a manc hit his head on the wall, after Ade got Arsenal's second on Saturday, Anyone willing to bet on another one damaging his foot tonight? grin grin grin

@ I-man,
Your question about superstars that didnt make it,
Cast your mind back to U-17 in 1985 in China, that German guy(cant remember his name)Wiltzek or something, was MVP, we never heard of him, later
2 years later.in Canada 1987, an italian teenager, name starts with C(cant remember)was top scorer also, We never heard about him later on,
There are many like that, that fizzled out,

@ I-man,

U remind me of Jackal a lot, From talking about Cesc now, u have poured out your mind iro AW, '3 league titles in 11 years is not good enough.'.(like u employed him),
and thanks brother, we love our 'attractive' football, It may not have won us as much trophies as u guys, but we are making progress so far this season, winning more admirers everyday,
I have not said Cesc is the best that ever happenned, I was just surprised that anyone would say Cesc was a star before joining Arsenal,
I don't want to argue anymore, because like the typical mancs., u will take me back to last season when u won the Epl and u were 21 points ahead of us, and how u won the treble in 1999, etc,

Meanwhile what's up with Sir alex? huh, every ref is against him this season, even if he wins? huh, Is he the new Jose Moaninho?, Ronaldo was booked yesterday because he DIVES, If u have ever dived before, it will continue to haunt you, I think he's feeling the pressure, 3 points behind the leaders(who has got a game in hand) is making the old man grow grey hairs grin grin grin
Sports › Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by HNIC(m): 3:32pm On Dec 04, 2007
@ I man,
u mancs never cease to amaze me, Which gooner has been telling you that Cesc was a Barca reject?

What's the definition of a star?

If my friend, bgees had said Cesc was known in football circles before joining Arsenal, I would have had no issues with that statement, but to say he was a star before joining Arsenal, i find that ridiculous!

Of course we hear about players that played well at the U-17, U-20 level and fizzle out, I can't start mentioning names.

We also know about players that learnt their trade at well known football academies also, made stupid decisions and are nowhere to be found today,

The question we should ask is, Between 2003 and now, how has Cesc Fabregas fared under AW's wings? I think he has been transformed into one of the world's best players just like AW has done with other players in time past,

To say he was a well known star or everyone knew he was gonna be fantastic or he was this and that is just the typical manc's way of disparaging AW's philosophy of grooming  virtually unknown players into stardom,

Not surprised though, grin grin

Y'all have been saying nonsense about Dudu so far(just like they said about Henry), When Dudu starts scoring goals now, you will turn around and say, Hell, what did AW do to him? nothing, he's been banging in goals for Croatia and C Zagreb since time immemorial, Wow, not easy engaging in an arguement with u guys!!! grin grin grin

You are talking twaddle.Everyone knew Fabregas was going to be fantastic. Its Cesc that chose to leave,Barca .[/quote]@I- man,

Are u bgees in disguise?? huh huh

Even if you are, he opined that Cesc was a star before he joined Arsenal, and i went on to elaborate the height of stardom that Cesc reached before crossing from Barca to Arsenal, and in responding to my analysis, you said I was talking twaddle, huh huh huh
Everyone knew Fabregas was going to be fantastic

Yep, everyone knew, yep, I-man knew, Man utd,Ac-milan,Inter,Madrid ,Juve, all knew Cesc was gonna be fantastic, That was why when Arsenal wanted to buy him, there was a bidding war between all of them, and finally he chose Arsenal and also told Barca to lower the amount Arsenal was gonna pay to something ridiculous,

Its Cesc that chose to leave Barca, didn't push him out.Cesc felt he had greater chances of playing in Arsenal than in Barca.

Greater Chances of playing in Arsenal? I think he took a gamble that could have backfired, If Vieira didn't go, Cesc would have had little playing time.

Potraying Cesc discovery as if he was some kind of "diamond in the rough" is ridiculous

I asked earlier, if u were b-gee in disguisehuh, Yep, Cesc was a superstar before he joined Arsenal and his profile has even diminished since he joined Arsenal. huh huh, I wonder why Europe's best clubs are ready to fork out huge amounts for his signaturehuh? huh huh, They should have done that while he was still at Barca academy just before he joined Arsenal, huh huh huh

I really wonder who's talking twaddle!!!!
Sports › Re: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by HNIC(m): 9:35am On Dec 04, 2007
bgees:
.

Cesc was already are star before he joined arsenal.
Yep, he was a star before he joined Arsenal.
He captained the Spainish team at the World Cup in Korea/Japan in 2002 and outshined the likes of Raul and Morientes , scoring 4 goals from midfield position.
Also Remember that prior to that, he was nominated twice in succession for European/World footballer of the year.
Also, since he was a star before joining Arsenal, the entire crew at Barca who sanctioned the transfer were sacked, for selling a star for peanuts!!! grin grin grin grin grin
Sports › Re: For Gunners (no Uninvited Guests Pls) by HNIC(m): 9:09am On Dec 04, 2007
Very few players come into the Arsenal set up and start playing straight away,
I still have videos of Henry coming in as a substitute late in the game for the likes of Davor Suker and Bergkamp, Who would believe that its the same Henry that went on to become, perhaps, the best player ever to play in the EPL,
Same for RVPersie who arrived in the summer of 2004 with Superstars like TH14,Bergkamp in front of him, His patience has paid off and all gooners are praying for his quick return to action,
However, the likes of Bentley,Sidwell, etc(typical of many english players) are not prepared to bide their time. They usually believe the hype written about them in the British tabloids as the 'next Beckham','next Scholes', 'next Pele' etc and are ready to jump ship and be playing 1st team football anywhere else.
I believe if Bentley had been a bit more patient, he would be in the 1st 11 now,but he believed a lot of the hype and moved on,
Just my opinion though, not necessarily because I am an Arsenal fan, Lots of examples abound in the other big clubs.

Life's funny, Spurs lost yesterday and they are 16th just one point above the drop zone, yet the pundits predicted a few months back, that they will step into the 4th position while we grapple with the likes of Everton,Pompey and Blackburn rovers for UEFA cup places huh huh huh huh,
And for the mancs who were asking if we have won a game outside London, hmmmn by my calculation Birmingham is not anywhere near London,
The Gunners keep marching on,

Someone opined here that Jackal has always been objective.I laugh grin grin grin
He only declared himself the ' number 1 naiaraland Gayner hater' a few days ago,
I gave up on his objectivity in matters concerning Arsenal, when he said Arsenal's 2003/2004 league winning season was no big deal. huh huhThat, we won 26 matches and drew 12 scoring 90 points was not as good as when Chelsea also won with more points but recorded one loss, huh huh
That Arsenal team is still called the 'invincibles' till today. How can anyone disparage a team that finished the entire season undefeatedhuh huh huh.The last time it happened in English football was last century,
Jackal was objective my foot, Like he would say, that is total f#$kery!!! grin grin grin grin

Seun,
When I joined nairaland,I had a spat with him in which he went overboard by insulting me and my parents.
I felt bad and almost quit logging in here, but after reading some of his posts that are not anti-arsenal, he does have a deep knowledge about the game and talks sense once Arsenal isn't involved,
I don't support his being banned, but I think he should be warned that hurling insults on people and their parents is not civilised.

Anyway, am calling you a saboteur because i can't believe you are one of the people saying that "Arsenal Baby Team talk". Is it this same team that had 30 year olds as first teamers and played the CL final with Barca: Sol campbell, Gilberto, Pires, Bergkamp. Henry & Ljunberg @ 29 as at then and Old papa Lehmann @ 35! Have you forgotten, this were the guys who played Barca?

So where is the Baby team? Is it Ade who may be just a year Younger than Kanu? and me and you even know Kanu's real age! grin grin grin grin.
Dennis Begkamp did not play the Champions league final in Paris in 2006.He had retired from the team earlier in the season.

While Ade and Gallas are both being given a rest, Clichy has got a thigh strain which he picked up on Saturday.
Would we be seeing Armand Traore or Flamini will fill in at left back?
Well, I sincerely pray we would get to see a better game this evening compared to what we saw at Prague a few weeks ago,

One match at a time, next up is Villa, Cesc would be back and more importantly RVP too, What's up with Heskey? These English players sef, after the performances against some footballing minnows and the rave reviews he got from the press, the lad thinks he's now a 'big' player huh huh, Did u see how he just pushed Gallas away?even these football rules sef, Gallas was also booked because he retaliated, What was he to do?to run to the ref and say, 'EH Mister, this useless dude just assaulted me' angry angry angry,
Anyway, still unbeaten, we have scored in every league match,we are 3 points clear, and also have a game in hand. The Arsenal is still marching on!

The real test of our dear team is coming in the next few weeks, I am sure we will keep marching on,
The likes of Gilberto,Diarra,Theo etc should stand up and be counted and lay claim to first team shirts,
Though the back 4 is still solid and intact, we will miss Hleb, Cesc has been doing the scoring and been magnificent in midfield but I think, most of the creativity has been coming from Hleb, Whatever though, the Arsenal is still marching on!!!! tongue tongue tongue
