Nyamiri states are the headquarters of hiv/aids infected people.. .. their ladies have institutionalized oloshoism program in the state and whenever you see them in different parts of the world....

Igbo people are unique people in the world
I weep for Nigeria because of people like you.

I asked her today. She said she has no problem with me that one of her daughter that owns the apartment wanna travel out that she wanna put her loads in my apartment and lock it up. I said ok and left her.
In my opinion you see it is better you asked.

At least whichever way it is better to clarify things.
PoliticsRe: Osinbajo To Egypt: Join Us In Calling The World Against Boko Haram by Hoephase: 5:00pm On Oct 29, 2019
Calling the world to join us in taking action against technically defeated group?

This call for action is open admission that BH is still active.

I personally don't think that there is anything wrong in asking for help when you have problem. My only problem with Nigerian government is using BH for cheap political goal.

BH is still active and needs to tackled with all seriousness.

Meanwhile we need a audit on the huge amount budget for security in the last years.

I strongly agreed to pack out as everyone has suggested because the reason am here with the write up is to seek for advice but with your writeup, am having a kind of rethink.
I will go to her when my rent expire by the end of this october, and if she refuses to collect I will ask her to tell me why and leave. She will not have any reason. 2 months ago, she put chickens cage at the back of my window with stinking smell but I have been told their way of life in their family. They do things to stair up argument and use it as a yardstick to start fight. I have met her respectfully in the past to ask some question, at times I would wonder if she is really human. I dnt pray u encounter her.
If you really want to move out that is fine and good but I don't think it is okay to subscribe to the don't ask don't tell attitude to just move out quietly.

If I were you even if I intend moving out I will still ask for clarification why I am been thrown out.

I think it is sensible thing to do at least you can point to what her excuses her no matter how illogical it might be.

I dont even know where to begin. I don't know whether to blame their ideology or the ineptitude of our government over the years that made it possible for such a crime to go undetected for several years.

I really don't know how people get so brain washed as to allow religion ruin their lives and those around them.

For anyone who has ever been involved in the humanitarian world should know that one of the ideas of the Wash programme is the use of sustainable local materials..You provide services/materials that are easy to implement and can be sustained locally (given how notorious our government are in maintaining facilities).

I am not here to deny the fact that the government has failed those children. That in this age and time all schools in Nigeria should have modern sanitary facilities.

This information is for those who care to learn. For those who would want to insult or start trolling I don't have your time because I don't need negative vibes where I am now 41.2372° N, 1.8059° E. If you know you know

It is quite interesting to see that everyone that gave their opinion so far suggested you leave. Most even attributed it to God either directing the op or that God will handle it.

I think we have become a nation of sheep, our leaders have succeeded in breaking our spirits to the extent we can't even ask for clarification on why our rights are being trampled upon. Or demand to know why we were been kicked out of place where we live legally and has been paying for.

Just imagine we couldn't even dare ask a landlord or landlady to explain the reason for their actions. And with this state of mind how are we ever going to stand up to our oppressors?

For those who care to reason asking why you are being thrown out is not something that must be done out of spite or out of anger. You can still do it in a calm and mature way and get answers.

When you start asking questions as regards your rights you start getting answers as you start getting answers you become well informed. Information is one of the essential tools of breaking out from oppression.

For instance, I have seen on this forum how some people asked questions and was able to get the "almighty" NPHC people to sit up and do their job.

The hate people promote on nairaland is horrible. There is no other platform Nigerians express the amount of hate they express here.

I hope seun looks at it critically and start a serious effort to sanitise the forum
It is too much, that at first I thought maybe some people were just trolling but looking at the scale and the extend people would go, I have to come realized that this is beyond trolling. There is trouble in the land.

Bro there are bad people everywhere and there are great people too. I understand that we have to call out people when they are in the wrong but that shouldn't form the basis of treating an entire people.

I don't know if you have close friends or family member in military. Maybe you should talk to them and you may be surprised how their survival/safety depends on people from other tribe.

I don't know old you are but I was very young during the Live in Mogadishu era and I heard from parents how they conducted themselves out there irrespective of tribe or religion affiliation.

Take a clue from Nigerian elite/politicians one thing that has keep them in power so long is how they have rallied amongst themselves and one thing that has kept the masses down is how difficult it is for the masses to find a common ground to stand on.
PoliticsShare Your Pleasant Encounter And Experience With Other Nigerians by Hoephase(op): 8:16am On Oct 14, 2019
Hi all,

I decided to create this thread based on a snide comment someone (yorubaNinja) made on the Chinua Achebe thread. A lady (jacksonkennedy) called him/her out for it.

I know bad news travel faster than good news and I have had my own share of bad experiences from folks across different ethnic group. But today I chose to share the positive and I am calling on all peace loving NL member to share their positive experiences. I believe by sharing our positive experiences with people from other tribes, we can encourage more positive behaviours.

So no more too much talk, I will go first, just to mention but a few:

When I first came to Europe to study, the first Nigerian I met was a Yoruba guy. I never knew him from Adam. Someone whose details I got online, sent him a message to assist me and when I came he sure did. He found accommodation for me and explained to me how things work around here. It was very helpful because at then even the uni gave me no information, if not for him I would have hard it worst than I did when I arrived.

When things was so hard that owe my landlord, he became the go between me and the landlord until I sorted my debts all out with the landlord. Till this moment we are still great friends.

I remember during the first years, a Yoruba guy in my class gave me some money ( for those abroad I am sure you all know how difficult it is for people to give someone money that can last them for at least a week out here) after seeing how difficult it was for me then.

Back when I was serving in the North, a Fulani guy got me an interview with Access Bank. In fact I got a call from one of their "oga" then. I later turned down the invite and told him I already got a job. Where that dude is now, I believe God will continue to reward him.

At my former place of work, one of my senior colleague from Akwa Ibom State practically mentored me and taught me most of the things I knew then. I was fresh from school inexperienced, and he was kind and patient enough enough to teach me things.

So please people share your own experience no matter how mundane it may sound, a positive experience no matter how small is better than a bad news any day anytime.

Please pardon my bad grammar I am on transit.

@lalastical please help push this to where everyone can see it. Sorry I will provide you snake thread as soon as I find one, I am out hunting for one for you. grin grin

what do you mean his people's conducts don't justify his legacy blah blah blah. Just pay your respects and move on.
Mind you the Igbos have always been the number one supporters of our people. They have invested heavily in our lands, supported our political ambitions in 2003, never fought us and have always stood for positive change in Nigeria.
I don't know where you base but when you come abroad and accept help from an Igbo in your trial period, then you will know just how stupid your bigotry here is.
Don't pay mind to those kids that haven't left their enclave and have no idea of how the world works. They sit in the comfort of their parents home used data paid for by their hardworking parents, to disparage others.

I am not trying to detail this thread but just to put this out there just so it may of help to at least to one person. When I first got here the first person that found a place for me and explain how things work out here was a Yoruba guy I don't even know him from Adam. Someone just sent him an email and told him to help and he came forth. We are still friends for more than a decade though he relocated to Nigeria over 5 years now we still talk and planning on coholding a business. The person closest to me here that is a Nigerian is from Ibadan, he is my to go person in case of emergency.

I would say the fact that lived always in every geopolitical zone while growing up and lived with people of different tribe in Nigerian then makes me appreciate people more and open to people of other ethnicity.

What I have come to realise is that we are all human just passing through life.

I find it extremely difficult to understand why people will hate and disparage a group of people they have never met.

Whenever we are calling out the West for their atrocities in Africa we also forget about the Arab. I have always said it, Africans should learn to look inward and take care of herself no other people give a flying s*** about Africa.

He has also
All the money he has spent on me is more than 300k, without adding visa processing nd traveling cost
Nd i never asked him for a dime,he did it himself
Bt if i start explaining everything you won't still understand
That guy is genuine!!! People are just mad because he is white!!!
Bt one day i hope to share my story here weather it turns out good or not!!
That is a bit worrisome to me (I might be wrong he might be genuine). My sister I have lived here for close to a decade and have a very close pal whose wife is Polish. They have kids she visit SE every Christmas. From my interaction with most Europeans (I have dated them both long term and short term relationships) is that they don't spend on their girl friend or boy friend.

The reason is so that they don't ulter the power balance in the relationship. That is why I am a bit worried.

My sister, there may be rule of law out here but the dark world out here is a dog eat dog Place.

There have been cases of girls groomed over a long period of time, buying them gift and evening sending them on cruise holiday only for them to wind up as a drug mule.

My point is do your thing but ask the necessary questions and don't take anything for granted.

As much as you regret your choice of seeking advice, you actually engineered most of the attacks you are receiving. Never ask people for advice and then insult them all in the same message. What were you thinking? Nigeria mentality isn't all that great we all know but sometimes being tactful in your approach saves alot of stress and pain. Being young isn't an excuse for being disrespectful.

Now to my main point slowly go through this thread you opened and pay attention to the warnings you have been given. Stop this your 100% trusting mentality. Honestly no one should be trusted 100% in this life the quicker you learn this, the more richly you will enjoy life. Question things, think about all the possibilities and make sure you are ready and adequately armed with plans to tackle them. I have seen some incredible advice and cautions here, take your time digest them as they are designed to make you wiser.

Your polish bf might be all you think he is but it doesn't hurt to be extra careful. So as to avoid... Well I let you imagine the possible scenarios.

As for your Nigerian guy, you messed up there, you should have told him a long time ago how you felt. Stringing guys along is not only wrong especially when you want the financial gains they provide but its very dangerous. I have seen the lengths most guys go to, to get even. Let's be guided please.

And Dominique I don't know if you posted again but, always pay attention to triggers please. This lady triggered most of these guys from her very 1st post.Together with her statement of receiving monetary gains from the unfortunate fellow, Its no suprise she got the treatment she's receiving. But not all guys here are stooping to her level. Some are just cautioning her since she's very young and easily influenced. There's nothing wrong in dating a foreigner just make sure you're safe and with a way out at all times. Same applies to dating Nigerians though.
Well said. You deserve one bottle of whatever you fancy. Do buy yourself a bottle. grin

tell non-nigerian guy to come to Nigeria for marriage registry. after marriage, get your visa and other travelling documents complete. Let your mum have photocopies of his country passport. human trafficking and organ trade are big business.
I wish you the best.
If the Polish guy have been helping her financially, to me that is a bit of concern (unless I missed something in her post) I know most Europeans would not spend on their girl friends.

An average Europeans that spend on women are mostly old men or old women running after young girl/boy.

From what the op described the Polish guy is not a desperate old guy, which is why I am a bit concerned.

The good thing is that he might be genuine love knows no bound neither does it follow a specific pattern.

I have been here close to a decade, I have seen and I have heard the worse of man inhumanity to man.

All the same I still wish her the best.

I doubt if you will read this but if you here are my note:

1. Don't be with someone out of pity. Cut the naija guy loose. It seems difficult but it is the best thing to do.

2. You have every right to be with anyone whether Polish or not. That is your decision.

3. Some people left you harsh comments, as harsh as some of them are they contain information you should take seriously.

4. I live in Western Europe and I can tell you what some people are trying to point out happen here more often than you could imagine. Just few days ago a Bulgarian lady was rescued from trafficking.

5. Like someone pointed out early, make sure you are in contact with his relative on Facebook at least not just his friends.

6. Before you leave for Europe make sure he visits Nigeria first at least with a family member that you have known before hand.

7. Him coming to Nigeria means he gets a visa and biometric passport. At least that will put up his record on an international database. Should anything happen at least your folks will know where to start and whom exactly they are looking for.

8. I repeat do not let him sweet talk you into coming over without him showing in Nigeria first. These guys ( I am not saying your guy is one of them) are sweet talker and they are good at what they do.

9. All the best and I pray it all work well for you.
