Yoruba ni mi, mi o kise DMX Beere mi l'Obalende titi de CMS , ur lyrical prowess inspires me anyday. Indeed, something can come out of nothing. Hope u're resting in the bossom of d Almighty. Adieu! Babzilla:Must he be a 'tupac"? Learn to celebrate exceptional talents. Its God's gift but many of them go to early grave undiscovered. Afterall you hope to be celebrated someday too. |
This is a real joke. Over 850 posts on this thread yet the results keep conflicting. Abusive attacks everywhere ![]() Well, my delight in all of these is that we now have a credible voting system that amplifies the voice of the people. Nigerians believed its unnecessary to vote cos the ruling party's candidates would stil win all the same. I'm so happy its a different story now, if the jubilating opposition fails to deliver we'll use the same broom to chase them outta town. However, I see a different trend in next week's Presidential elections. I'm still one of those who believe there could possibly be a run-off cos the sudden ACN fortune would further increase Ribadu's chances(not so good for Buhari). A two-third majority for GEJ remains impossible at this point EXCEPT he brings in the usual PDP abracadabra. (Dnt even dare) I wish Nigeria the very best as we decide the nation's fate for the next four years. |
I've watched this clip over and over again. Nothing to substantiate your claim. Echala: |
pro01:This issue is beyond ElDee, we're talking bout Nigerian youths and those who represent us. Its about time the government took us seriously. Our young people have got so much talent and energy but our leaders seem not to see beyond their nose. C'mon, ev'body cannot be a D'banj or ElDee, whose audience consist of over 90% young people (the reason for their fame). So its only normal for us to say they (the artistes) "rep" Naija Youths. That's a rare priviledge!! Your comment suggests you would have messed up such opportunity for a bowl of rice, like D'banj& co. In fact, I think "I'mdBanj" is better. While he's thinkn of cool cash to shoot new video with Kanye, u're here playn "find me some change, @naijangel7. Pharoh obviously didnt read the comment well. Probably the concubines were busy massaging his majesty's back. ![]() |
naijangel7: 9ijaMan: Pharoh:Hmmn. The point is: you cant stop birds from flying but you CAN stop them from perching on your head. GEJ Campaign Team has been commissioned to search for and use any available, appealing platform to convince Nigerians that Goodluck is the man. It is now left to the stakeholders of such platforms to declare availability(like D'BAnj &co have done) based on mutual interests. The Nigerian youths feel betrayed cos such platforms could have made their voice heard loud and clear. Again, this platform has now become a threat to another platform (debate), where we wish to ask questions about our future from a man seeking to lead us. The platform (whether debate or concert) is not an end in itself but a means to an end: The Youths Want To Be Heard GEJ Campaign Team has failed to recognize that and our Youth "Reps" (D'Banj & Co) have sold us out in exchange for personal gains. |
What a comic relief! Nigerians would always give you reasons to laugh even in the midst of most disturbing national issues like the forthcoming elections.
|
Life is not about how much YOU CAN GET but how much YOU CAN GIVE. Many blow up the opportunity to make a difference in their generation at the sight of personal gains. So why blame the politicians when they dont deliver? If the likes of "I'm d BAnj" becomes a state governor, of course you knw the outcome. Many of them would say FELA is my mentor, Is this the way FELA acted when he had the opportunity to make a difference against military rule? You might say FELA only made noise but hey, it takes real balls to defy zombies. May God give us more men like ElDee, one day, one day e go beta 4 we naija!! @fayawo. thank you |
Busy_body:hmmnnn . . . I hope not, till we all undstand our role Just maybe we'll get it right sometimes soon |
Beknown gave us this valuable contribution: To set the ball rolling, we need a simple plan: 1. Provide a list of registered orphanages in Lagos (done! Additions are welcome) 2. The next step is to contact each orphanage to determine their capacity and their current vacancy (pending) 3. The next step is to collect these children every day/night and take them to their nearest orphanage with vacancy (I'm aware that some NGOs do so. What we need is the method they've been using. Its not impossible, contributions please). 4. People can then make donations to these orphanages in cash or kind (Viable. Donations could be made directly to the orphanages to cater for kids we have picked to sponsor) Wouldn't it be nice to someday boast that N/landers currently sponsor about 50 kids in different orphanages across Lagos? Its possible people. |
Lets not lose sight of the underlying principle behind that post while pushing blames: if the parents have failed and the government has equally failed in her responsibility, the society must NOT fail. The society is you and I. So the question is "what can I do to effect a change?" In the first place, leave those fulani kids out of this. Their parents are so hard-hearted that they would never allow you take a kid away for whatever reason except there's a force backed up by the law. They are here strictly for business. Now, many of the kid beggars we see around lagos and other states are rather unfortunate. They are a product of failed parents and insensitive goverment. We must realise that the same kids when fully grown becomes the armed robber(for instance) that terrorizes innocent citizens, not the parent or government. We are not different when all we can do is trade blames. N/land is a community of intelligent people. I believe something great can come out of here to positively affect our society IF the solution-oriented comments so far, are not drowned by arguments that seek to make us look handicap and capable of doing nothing. Its not a bad idea if a "save the street kids"(or whatever) project can emerge from our many discussions. "be the change that you want to see". |
Quack journalism. I wonder which one is worse, PM News or The Sun, mtcheew ![]() |
Crownvilla:^^thanks for that concise summary. I couldnt agree more |
Naaaaaijaaa, i dey hail o. Why do you believe in the "prophecy" of witches and wizards? If a pastor or imam comes out with this claim you'd be quick to tear such apart. "E don collect ghana-must-go!!", you would scream. Some will even go to the lenght of calling them despicable names. "W&W" such a big joke |
xterra2:^^ i wonder why pple still beleive in this "al-queda" theory from the US. Every country the US enters in the name "aid" would develop "hiv" and die of "aids". I've seen the video over and over again. The explosion trend is THE SAME as the Bank of Industry demolition in Lagos. A Lagos State Govt sponsored documentary on the demolition of Bank of Industry highlights similar demolitions around the world in details. You cant spot a difference btw what happened at the World Trade Center and these demolitions. I only hope this administration would'nt get frustrated into falling in the US ambush. Mark my words |
How good this decision is really depends on the outcome. Lets hope this would be the pathway to solving Nigeria's #1 infrastructural challenge. It'll be such a delight |
amazonia:^^ obviously u didnt read this: ", Raising awarenesss for people to be security-conscious is a completely diffenrt thing from raising a false alarm that plunges people into fear. If u mean to tell to us "be security-conscious", then the story should have be different. That is awareness. In this case, the poster writes as if he was there at a meeting where plans have been concluded to detonate bombs in lagos" Sure, we can never too awake to protect ourselves. its the posters approach that's wrong. There's nothing wrong asking him: is this for real? @ Ilugunboy hilarious. have fun, we know your type |
Jonathan will eventually get the ticket. At what "price" no one can tell. Just hoping it wont be a costly one at the expense of Nigerians |
xterra2:^^back to square one! Fix the system and every other thing would fall in line. How could you be thinking of CCTV when power is an apology. Overhaul the security agencies and they would live up to responsibility. How could you be thinking of Anti-terrorism squads when the force is not motivated and adequately trained? Are u going to recruit officers from Congo? |
^^@ Byrron, Raising awarenesss for people to be security-conscious is a completely diffenrt thing from raising a false alarm that plunges people into fear. If u mean to tell to us "be security-conscious", then the story should have be different. That is awareness. In this case, the poster writes as if he was there at a meeting where plans have been concluded to detonate bombs in lagos. Shouldn't the source be questioned? By the way everyone's not from ur village, "Ilugunboy". N/landers are intelligent and busy. We ask for source cos its pointless wasting time on useless posts. |
MeGaStReEt:Come on, this is off limits for 6-12 years-old |
amazonia:^^ Since kidnapping and other vices started in the SS/East and has been fast-spreading, how many cases reported in Lagos? these guys have their targets. may be you're the one who needs to wake up and stop anticipating evil |

Today marked the beginning of INEC's training for corp members, which the electoral body has planned to use nationwide for the forthcoming elections as Adhoc Staff. The exercise in Ogun State was a complete sham, void of planning and adequate preparation. The exercise took place at the old Sagamu Orientation camp dining hall that can only sit about 300 people. yet an estimated number of 6,000 corp members (Batches A,B and C) were expected to participate. The PA system could only manage to cover the hall while 98% of corp members moved around the premises freely, exchanging pleasantries and catching up with old friends. Thus only a few participated in the process but interestingly, they couldnt come up with tangible information when asked. At the end of the day, most of these corp members who have traveled from distant places(due to the holiday) in response to the emergency notice went home utterly disappointed. It was full of uncertainties. So many versions of story: "they said", "no they did not", "i think", so many speculations. I'm still trying to figure out the purpose of today's exercise. Question: Why wasn't the exercise decentralised? Who planned the whole event and how much was earmarked? Why not make use of the stadia (Sagamu, Abeokuta or Ijebu Ode) where everyone can fully participate? I cant but laugh at the outcome of this forthcoming elections should things continue like this. The Nigerian youth may never get the opportunity to get invloved in crucial national decisions if it fails this time. INEC/NYSC have started with a shaky foundation in Ogun State, dont be shocked when the building is complete. Please give us updates on other states. |
thweraja10:^^ source please? We dont have to spread stuff like this without claims. The same way someone said 3rd Mainland was about to collapse and the news went round town, even through sms. If a religious person announces such for instance in the name of prophecy, we begin to ask for "where", "when" and "how" etc. But now, seems everyone's taking it hook, line and sinker. Poster, substantiate your claim please |
Most times, partners are exposed to options. They think "only if i've waited a little longer". If already married, options would still come but its no longer a consideration. And remember that emotions of love is at its peak when the relationship is very fresh. ![]() The long standing partner stands a high a risk of becoming "old skool" and "boring" because of the new excitingly tempting experience. ![]() |
This is another blunder by GEJ! It clearly shows that he lacks a good understanding of the Nigerian government agencies and how they operate. The system has become so ineffective that creating another agency like Anti-terrorism wouldnt make much difference. They'll only make some noise for a while just like the comical special police squads("Operation Fire for Fire", "Rapid Response Squad", can someone add more? ). This is the same approach successive goverments have employed over the years and the result is failure. What our national security needs is a complete overhaul of the system. You dont have to start with the entire police force. Thought GEJ's advisers should be smart enough and praise singers like Beaf should be reasonable enough to admit when their chief goes wrong. @ 9jaman, Blacksta and Ola Edo, great contributions. |
Ola edo:Thought i was the only one following Jonathans's spending spree. Its been absolutely phenomenal! If we get the records and calculate how much he has approved in form of contracts, grants, bonuses etc, in the last 6-7months you'll be dazed. He's got so much resources available but very little is going into capital expenditures. Yet the ones announced are almost about all that we know until "Wiki wiki" begins to leak classified stuff. I wonder who's advising Mr. President. |
SegzyJoe:hmmn, really interesting. But something can still be done. We dont expect opposition to overthrow Oloye's platform overnight. Just imagine what could have happened if ACN didnt stand up against PDP. Persistence is the key. More people need to stand up in your state. The very thought of one man determines the future is most annoying. Did u just say four decades? You guys had better wake up! |
A tsunamic wiping away of PDP |
He'll resign when Mugabe or Gbagbo does |
@gbengress1, what do mean by still believe in PDP? Who ever believed in Poverty to D People from day one? Problem to D People! Even Yar'adua agreed that the elections that brought him to power was rigged. Nothing good can ever come out of the PDP. Its better you lose hope in PDP now if you havent, so we can usher in a new era of progress |
nijaprince:I wonder if there are real people living in kwara state. Seems more than 80% are ghosts. If not how can a single family claim a whole state? Is this a hamlet or village? Wonders shall neva end |
