I sure do need to re-watch this match.

Although I must confess, ‎the red card looks suspicious and soft but one would expect a quality player of RVP' stature to recognise that he is the life blood of ‎the ass-anal strike force and should not act like a teenager since he is already in ‎the book, meanwhile same anal fans were jubilating when Shelsi got same soft-like penalty against Malu utd which handed ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ Blues victory(yet they couldnt claw back the points against Sunderland). Footie game has a way of getting back @ underserving teams.

How would it have sounded that with no goal attempts @ our door post and yet, they qualified? I would have been gutted for the rest of the week.

I hope all these fanatics will @ least acknowledge one thing, arsenal doesnt have ‎the guts and all it takes to clinch a trophy, imagine ‎the siege in their goal mouth right from ‎the 1st half,if not for Biscuits goal, like Medjai said, its suprising why this didnt end up as a mainta game as usual. They are simply allergic to trophies like someone earlier pointed out( 6 yrs and counting)

They should get ready to face a bruised and wounded malu utd in d FA cup, their season as always is gone. Same ol' story.

Did anyone observe that Cesc will give anything to wear The Blaugrana shirt again? He has proved his desire again with the gift. Come home lad, we welcome back the prodigal one.

Hi Cules,

Anyone feeln ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ tension?? Why cant our lads wrap up this match by thumping in a 4th and possibly a Manita.

I am scandalised by ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ chances after chances that we are missing, see what 2 chances that Ibrahim has missed in adition to ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ others.
Even if RVP is still on ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ pitch, what could he have done, 85 minutes and not even one attempt @ goal??

Where is that rap!st hanniemal that lykes violating little male children, doesnt he have anything to sayhuh?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: FC Barcelona Fan Thread: "Més Que Un Club" by holydante(m): 5:36pm On Mar 07, 2011
Hello Cules,

We are on course for a thriller, our lads are in high spirits and knows that its an all out attack and no one is gonna fluff chances.

As usual, the game will be played in the gonners half of the pitch and we should know better than miss any chances that pops up to us, the only friendship gesture we owe the visitors is just the opening hand shake gestures, after that, its competition, i advocate that Pep should gather them together and they all re-watch the last ''Thrashico'' and replicate that fearsome and business-like attitude with which they approached the game.

I know my clubs philosophy, we play to enjoy, entertain and win fairly. The emphasis tomorrow is on winning, and win we shall by His Grace, I am confident.

hi 5 Cules,

I gave my reasons sometimes back about responding to anonymous teenagers that occassionally pops in on threads all over NL, a typical example is below exercpts:-
hannie:
. . .the bitter truth is BARCA needed to have rested Messi now I foresee SONG shackling him out and might not even mind getting redcarded  grin worst case scenario he misses the 1/8 final  grin/quote]
which song is he referiing to shocked, the one that got a yellow on the 7th minute in the 1st leg while trying to tackle Messi and was pulled off by Wengay and the multi-coloured-dada-headed guy is even ruled out of the tie as he failed knee fitness test, or has this lill boy cloned another gay song to reappear at the Nou??

Its apparent that this teeny-boop is off the hook , guys please let this hipster be

Well, some jinx yet to be broken, Villa still didnt score but our so called "Dimunitive Argie" did save us blushes according to Medjai and he seats atop ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ phichichi race with 27 goals and Pep even with ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ seeming grimace from pains celebrated ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ final whistle, finally he has taken 3 points @ Mestella.

10 points adrift ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ eternal rival who play tomorrow, nice feeling, anybody feel me? Meanwhile it was an intersting formation we played that almost skipped guys hearts but became fluid as the hostilities progressed.

Pinto's ball clearance, reflex response and communication needs to climb up a bit(hez just 35 or so) and won't have Pique come Mar 8.

I hope Biscuits will not partner in CB against Arsenal(them gonners walloped Leyton by 5 with chewing-gum Bendtner getn a hat-trick, I bet loads of confidence returning)

Yea, 43 goals in all ryte now.

Superflous Messi

Maxwell and Keita on for Adriano and Iniesta. Pep wants to buckle up but I must confess its like a frenzied act now for Valencia with so much attacking intent.

Pinto still displaying communication gaps with Pique, hopefully it won't end up scezszy/kosscilny style(our playas speak same language), loll

Meadjai good line up prediction, Y☺u are on top of your game, soldado has come on, I would like to observe that Mata has been stringing delightful passes and making decisive tackles, he has taken off balls from Xavi et al.

Am thinking Pinto's performance is not top notch, he hesitates a lot and his clearance and goal kicks leaves a lot to be desired, our defence is really stretched here, hoping ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ little Canary man that just came in will make ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ desired impact, cos as its looking like a point shared in this match will be a miracle, ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ options are kind closed up a lil bit, meanwhile Pep is in serious pains, hez grimacing all through.

We can do it lads, we are Barcelona

‎d̶̲̥̅̊ news about Capitan Puyol's recovery is a closely guraded secret for obvious reasons, but  ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ news gleaned this evening was that he has gradually started doing what he could not do before, we may not see him for  ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ CL selection, but its all good and well with us.

Mehn there is serious arguement going on between Messi and Villa obviously due to  ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ several fluffed chances (both with 2 apiece) although I expect it to be quelled within  ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ interval its a sign of good hunger and desire, its good for competition but I can sense  ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ pichichi and CR7 factor (I hate to bring this in) motivating Messi  ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ more.

Pls bois, we need to score, consolidate and do our passing game

Nice one " ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ Man in the most secluded zone"

I was pleasantly suprised @ ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ line up with our 2 DMs and Biscuits playing ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ defensive role while Adriano is up there, I get ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ feeling that Pep is fine tunning ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ lads for ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ CL match by trying out this formation; Messi has missed some sitters although one can argue that he created them but he could have allowed Villa to break ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ pentagon jinx.

Quite a high paced one and Los Che are very fast in closing up spaces, but we could have easily been 2 up.

We'l score in ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ 2nd half

Self believe is key right now for ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ gooners; with only 17 players fit ( ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ keepers inclusive) out of ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ whole bunch, whoever that is called upon to wear their jersey should know that its not big names that makes games tick but ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ famed grit and determination, wishing them luck but I wouldn't mind if Leyton Orient will pip them to ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ next round(afterall Reading did Everton in yesterday) this'l help further lower morals prior to their Nou camp kiddies visit.

I want next round of CL for my team @ arsenals expense (no ofeinse)

Hi Guys (including book markers grin),

Its going to be an attacking flair display tonight 9from both sides) and i bet we will come out tops although one cant deny the fact that Valencia has been playing some good footie of recent times and has been a thorn in the flesh since Pep''s reign; meanwhile another existing record has Villa (who netted 108 goals in 166 Liga games for Los Che in 5 seasons) has not scored in any of the last 5 match ups between Valencia and the Blagurana (same for Pep who has not taken 3 points off them at Mestella) grin, either he breaks the jinx today or Messi, Pedro and any other to supply the goals.

A match between the 3rd and 1st placed aint no moin moin, I go for victory albeit, a hard fought one.

@USB, i feel you bruv, only 17 fit players now @ Arsenal (2 or 3 keepers inclusive) and they need to prosecute the season with 14 players shocked, wow, maybe its time Mr Professor lives up to his name, UEFA surely wont postpone March 8, its a day that must be and i bet the world will see an attacking flair reminiscent of last Clasico, Chealski and Martin Atkinson has done them a favor yesternite, can they step up against Sunderland??

Loll @ JP88, I can understand your wish but I strongly align with Ogazi.

We are not the Super eagles that will always hang the collective hopes of a nation by waiting for best loosers. The game of soccer is hinged on adequate preparation (first 11, bench, physique, mind etc) and also ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ human element that comes to bear (favorable or unfavorable officiating) injury scare, under performance and a whole lot of others; I would rather that we fully prepare and face whatever the gunners have to throw @ us than play their 3rd eleven and they'l forever have reasons to downplay ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ victory; however, Wenger won't say he didnt have the opportunity to beef up his team this season in anticipation of his "quadruple dream"(minus 1 presently), they just declared a half year P&L loss, painfully again for them mr-goal-getter-RVP is out for 3 weeks, perhaps Chamakh and Bendtner will do the damage.

I wish P.Guardiola speedy recovery, guess this is a result of his active days in footie, @ least it allowed him ample time to finish his playing career.

The fluidity of movement and passing, the speed of play, the confidence on the ball, the ability to keep possession of the ball even in extremely tight corners, the endless movement and running off the ball, the individual dribbling skills, the endless and ingenuous creation of goal-scoring chances, the number, quality and ease of scoring goals, the beauty of self-expression on and off the ball, the fighting spirit, the humanity and sportsmanship on display even when the team is occasionally floundering and losing. All of this put together in one assembly of players, in one team, in one era, makes Barcelona FC not only the best football playing team in the world in this period and time, but also the best football team ever assembled in the history of the game,

Meanwhile guys, the above is an exercept from our very own "Mathematical Segun Odegbami's" blog on Supersports site.

It is not as if we have not seen and read about all the accolades heaped on this great team, but it gladdens the heart to fathom that footie greats all over ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ globe knows that what we are presently witnessing is a phenomenon that may take time to replicate itself elsewhere.

My own candid wish and prayer is for Lionel Messi to be blessed with a great Argentinian coach and insightful players to lift his country high on the international stage, it will be @ odds for him to do all these @ club level with achieving much on ‎the home front.

Its quite a tidy piece of article, pls go to below to read ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ full article

I really do not bother responding to tirades coming from such as yours because as an up and coming teen, Y☺u sure have a long way to go in the ways of the world and public conduct (both seen and unseen)

I quoted Y☺u because the "666 and antichrist" Y☺u mentioned and other silly remarks is a pointer to a sign of gradual loss of sanity and it calls for concern.

I wondered @ the highlighted words and some noticed abbreviations (well I apologise to ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ general house first I am presently using my phone and ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ keyboards are tiny and I also observed that my-you-know-what that I left my  with before my journey has altered my phone dictionary to suit her chatting whims (chicks and chats, I shake my head), I hope to be able to change ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ words back otherwise its a pointer to abandon this one for her and get a new one, but am glad Y☺u read meaning out of all I posted.

Hi 5 fellow Cules, ve been freed a bit by my schedule and have been gleefully reading all Y☺u guys did to play catch up since early morning; am just glad @ your dexterity and maturity Y☺u all displayed especially after ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ emirates match up. Our players have dug deep into themselves to bring up that additional self belief as ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ last 2 matches have justified that a winning mentality matters altho some of our regulars are still not in good form.

So many posts to make reference to but this one above really smacks of potty and ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ guy has started making evil insinuations and perhaps he's loosing sanity as his posts are beginning to take a weird dimension and is freakish, I just hope his family dont loose him to dark satanic conspiracies and hoping also that he comes back and reassess himself.
I dont intend to drag arsenal to ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ mud but its increasingly becoming clear of their erratic performance and failure @ d big stage (lost d CL Finals 2 Barca, Lost Carling cup final opportunites twice) like someone pointed out, it seemed there has been an unwritten agreed conclusion that ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ Carling cup seems to have been zoned to them ( ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ goals cld have been more with ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ disallowed penalty call and other criminal calls that Dean over looked) and yet, they blow their chances against a team with so many issues-:
- a shoe string budget and having self doubt about their performance
-Zigic was almost shipped back to Spain-Santander due to non performance
-they have two 34 year olds and mangaged to acquire Obagoal on loan from Rubin or so and yet with all ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ seeming stars and key players on ground (no one shld tell that crap about Cesc not being available-Xavi is not there and we have been notching up points) they blow it away
After ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ CL match-i cringed all ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ ‎time @ ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ incessant comparison of teen Jackie W to Xavi H, and ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ claims that he is better than ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ Spainard( ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ boy gave a good account of himself yesterday though), football is not Athletics and Tennis when teenagers clinch medals, prize money and trophies, it boils down to experience and for a Wilshires sterling performance yesterday, Y☺u have a model of determination, good spirit and togetherness in Bowyer, Fahey, S.Larsson(assnal reject), Johnson and Foster et al and some played on with injuries, I just hope ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ our cherished Barca players are seeing beyond ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ ratzmattaz of this arsenal team, Pep can do his best to tinker with their minds and formation but its their grit and determination in ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ 90 mins on Mar 8 that will count @ ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ end.
Whether RVP, Walcot and Cesc are fit or not, these guys have no depth and we can, we will and should knock them out of CL as usual, all we need is a replica of ‎d̶̲̥̅̊ kind of passion we used against JM & his bunch of expensive players, we will sink them. Anyway before then, we have 2 tight fixtures to grapple with and surely we are on course.

@Holydante, i felt reinvgorated when i read your ever wonderful masterpiece. It will be pretty hard for us ,barca fans, to accept defeat esp b/c we have not known it for too long a time. But we do now! Be that as it may, it serves to make us appreciate success more when it finally comes.

Over here, my roommates jeers! They mock!
JP just take it in strides, its a sign of maturity, although we taunted them before the game, its all part of it, here in my office, I have die hard arsenal fans as Bosses and colleagues, one of them even was at the emirates to watch the game and we have been in conference call with him today, all of them are over joyed but they all acknowledged the fact that they were lucky not to have conceded 2 or 3 in the 1st half which would have killed off the game (including mmesoma's wrongly dis-allowed goal) and they confirmed how terribly worried all gooners fans were at our long spells of possession. we completed 629 passes to their 299 (tho theirs yielded more result than ours grin)

The reason i am telling you this is just to encourage you to know that those that are knowledgeable about footie knows that it was a lucky break for them compounded with the judgement error in the subs

This is from whites and folks who schooled in England and has been following Arsenal for over 15 years, they know not to take the jeering to a limit as footie is never a mathematics reality. Take their jeers as high school exuberance and be ready to defend the team you cherish. They are the ones who have something to prove and not us.

@ Medjai the wise one, i totally agree with your piece, now we dont have to play under pressure of invincibles.

I think i have made this point sometime in the recent past, the expectation on Wilshire will soon skyrocket especially by the English media, they are already compering him with Xavi and Iniesta (folks who have won all in soccer cheesy), there have been talks of including him in England youth squad alongside the senior team. I love the teens display and grit, but they should not forget in a hurry about the hype of the likes of Vassel, Alan Smith et all and how they turned up, he should be celebrated and left to mature to his depth.

I am around oo, just attending to what pays my bills. The self belief in my Team has never been strong as ever and i am glad we did the best we could, Barcelona is a team to beat and i surprisingly woke up this morning with a niggly feeling that the CL title has been won only to discover that we just played the 1st leg of the round of 16.

Gooners deserve credit for taking the game to us and not adopting any stifling JM strategy (Song tried acting instead of playing and he paid dearly for it, hez off till next season of CL if u guys fail to beat us @ d Nou).

Wenger just stuck to his style of play and it yielded result. How fortunate a team can be, at least we were not disgraced, it was a gallant loss away from our home to a team we have denied 3 times.

On the other side, it was a surprising display by us, after the initial gra-gra by the opponents we settled in into our double-one-two's and zipping the ball back and forth and in triangles with lots of movement displacing them and after Villa's goal, we had 3 clear opportunities to finish off the game but our players choose to mesmerize rather than be business minded, i so much detest Pep for allowing Maxwell in this game, he was just upfront contributing nothing. Villa was the only player that seemed goal hungry but Pep saw otherwise, and why did he wait till such a late hour to make the wrong changes huh

The defenders instead of clearing balls from defense were very lethargic and sloppy, it was a poor clearance that led to Pique's 2nd yellow and now we are gonna rue his absence; there was clear lack of leadership by Xavi, Puyol's absence was glaring, he wouldn't have tolerated all those soft play.

Messi was clearly overburdened and tired in the second half, like someone pointed out, cant we give the 2nd stream guys opportunities to better themselves, juxtapose Wilshire today against what he was last year and you will see the reason; if our key players fail to come to the party, cant we have a match changer from the bench (is it keita that will turn a match around huhcant we further develop Fontas, Vazquez, Thiago, Barta, Jonathan et all, give Ibrahim more playing time too and have great bench options)

Anyway, we welcome them to our fortress in March, and obviously we have nothing to loose by attacking and so the return leg will go down history as a hotly contested one, i feel it strongly.

Well history always has a way of sneaking in superstition in the game of footie, Peps
's side has never won away at the knock out stages of the CL since he became gaffer and Messi yet to register one in England, 51.8% of clubs that lost 1st away leg went on to reach the next round, grin grin grin all these are consolation though, if Pep and the bois fail to dothe their home work then,

*Am surprised seeing Mukina overjoyed and mocking too, i thought MOD's are super humans!! anyway it goes to show the bottled up emotions of Arsenal fans for over 11 yrs(am spelling arsenal correctly for the 1st time cheesy)

@Johnny P double 8 and my fellars, its still High 5 all the way, next bus stop, Club Athletic, the run continues

Congrats Arsenal for now

-Assenhole Wengay too has been mouthing off Mourinho style
-them snod-wearing FANAtics are threatining all over the place, I have even decided watching the game @ home cause I know what will be their reaction after the end of hostilities

The dossier reads thus:

We pumped in 5 goals in Wengay's team's net in 99/00 CL group stage

We slotted in 2 goals into the gonners net in 06 in Paris CL finals

We thrashed in 6 goals into asssnal's net in last season's CL.
The legacy and memories lives on,is it gonna be a dirty manita or mercy-victory? All my cules, hold the forth guys, The Blaugrana machine is gonna do it again @ the porus fortress called emirates cup staduim.

Am really shocked and apologise about the multiple postings, the service on my handheld really went bonkers and engineered this mess.

Quite shocking that Milan will still be running things with this same crop of folks as players, since Dandy Silvio Berlusconi would rather throw gigs and be having a go @ teens instead of piloting affairs in his club(he has refused to appoint a president or so).

The officating was a bit clumsy, T'ttenham got away with some in the 1st quarter while Flamini and Bullwark gattuso should have gotten worse punishment. I hope eufa sincerely slams him for such disrespect to a respected coaching crew.

I can't wait to see the reception the WHL folks will accord them in the return leg, that'l be a must watch.

The Rossoneri with their veterans, their experience comes to bear @ crucial times (Pippo Inzaghi's brace against looserpool in Athens 07 is a ref point) but if a T'ttnham side can run them ragged, then they can take something away, but its doubtful, Bale and a whole lot MIA and their frustrating inconsistency in d epl may come to the forefront today.

^^^ it was in Palacio de los Deportes and not the caja magica, which is our own fotress.
Ajanle,
kindly advise them on confirming details before posting forthwith.
Its kind of baffling to me as I don't understand what you are trying to prove here or is palacio de los deportes located in Jalingo??

I didn't see where I quoted Caja M as the finals venue, I said "Madrid's backyard" and of course its not like NBA's best of 7 games where there is home and away play so there is NO HOW "your supposed fotress" would have been the finals venue, it has to be a neutral ground not minding the vicinity where it is located.

HiTV aired this match courtsey of Setanta and the last time I checked, palacio de los deportes cordinates is still situated right in MADRID where Barca's Regal won The Kings BB tournament by defeating Madrid's bb team.
