sent a suprise cake to her office in the morning------------the only cake that came to her office yesterday and she became an instant celebrity (she regaled me with tales of how it feels nice and spiritual to share things with people) got some lovely chocolate bars, wine, other bits and pieces that i personally handed over to her. she waited almost 2 hours in an un-conducive place for me due to the traffick gridlock i found myself in, she came home with me and surprised me with a set of designer cologne. i missed fellowship though embarassed cheesy

YESTERDAY ISRAELI'S NEWS PAPER STATED IN HEBREW A COURAGEOUS BRAVE MAN OF AFRICA IS GONE THEY WENT ON TO DESCRIBE OJUKWU AS THEIR AFRICA SON,IN CONCLUSION THEY SEND A CONDOLENCE MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE OF ANAMBRA AND OLD EASTERN REGION AS A WHOLE ASSURING THAT THEY ARE MOURNING WITH THEM,THE NEWS WENT ON TO SAY THAT AFRICA WOULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFERENT PLANET ONLY IF BIAFRA WAS ACTUALIZED.

IF COUNTRY LIKE ISRAEL CAN ISSUE THIS TYPE OF STATEMENT I WONDER WHAT ELSE WOULD PLEASE OJUKWU IS IT NIGERIA STATE BURIAL ?
what a sensible post. This sums up a lot in the minds of people. Can you assist with a link to the Israeli paper??

My resolve to never have a thing to do with the almajaris and their kiths in the west has just been rekindled. I now have a fuller and better understanding why my dad was said to have burnt his british passport immediately after the war. I need to learn a lot more, but for whatever reason, if a people supposedly under one geographic entity could do this to innocent children and helpless women, then there shall be neither peace nor trust in this country. It is now coming home to me why i never for one day set foot in the northern part of the country, perhaps my innate feelings explains quite a lot of other latent dislikes i hold against some of these ethnic northerners. I have tried to relate this to the killing of the Corpers during the recent polls, and i ask myself, how many nothern corpers were killed in the east/west? how many were killed in the North? Do we really have any heterogenity with these northerners? Indeed should we remain as one? whatever happened to the inalienable right to self determination? must everything boil down to oil? what happened to the groundnut pyramids in Kano, can these almajaris rebuild and commence exportation? and i was taught that the west produced cocoa ( i think there is a cocoa house even in Ibadan) so what happened to its production. My one regret is that efact that i just signed off on the employment of one smart hausa chap, but i have a feeling he will come out like his ilks, i wount give him more than a fair chance to progress, we are not friends, neither are we colleagues. If the hands of the clocks were to be turned backwards and in teh same situation, he will kill me first. @ Poster, please post more and send in links if it is possible.
i Just can quite feel the depth of your pain. I have battled with this feeling for so long right from childhood after being regaled of tales about how innocent easterners were murdered in cold blood during those dark years (and it is yet to abate)

To this very day, i just wonder at what Igbo folks are doing still migrating up north, we should all endeavor never to let this be swept under the carpet.

Our generation and our children must be reminded about all these, at least most of them are internet savvy and so can always search out the truth for themselves

moving on, is easier said than done. It is a not-so-good experience but it sure helps to acknowledge this.

*you need to be be harsh on yourself by ''admitting to yourself'' that you have been ''rejected'', such harsh reality will jolt you out of the self pity syndrome

*stop looking forward to catching glimpse of the person or reading their past sms or peeking at their fb wall, old pixs etc

*delete and destroy every memory and face what you love doing. Work, fellowship etc

*make yourself feel good by shopping for yourself and appreciating who you are

*if you have a good support network of reasonable and understanding friends, always hang out with them, avoid and minimize staying alone (also watch out for friendly male folks that may just want to use this opportunity to have a peekaboo at ya)

*if you are a Christian and believe in Gods word, search the Bible for reassuring words.

so many people have gone down this lane, surely you wont be the last

That post wasn't written by an Arsenal fan. .you'd have seen it 'somewhere' in there and if you noticed he praised Barca's style of play but found it odd that a great club with so much talent would resort to that type of tactics to get results. So, because he wrote the blog a and an Arsenal fan posted it on your thread. .it means he's an Arsenal fan? undecided your reasoning is REALLY shallow. For all i care. .he could be a Madrid fan(you watched the match, no need to interpret how you qualified), an Inter Milan fan (Yes, they won but that was marred by so many dodgy calls).

Let adults read and post sensible stuff, not the jibberish which you just spewed (with insults) that i deleted.
so responding to a post from an MOD has suddenly become an age defining act.

Praising someone and finally rubbishing the performance amounts to nothing and why would someone be bothered about such at this stage when the train is moving forward, it irks me to see people talk about diving and play acting only in relation to the few Barcelona players who had every right to do so in the face of rough tactics from Madrid.

The title of what you embedded here reads one thing, your comment is '' guess the whole world now sees this team for what it truly is. . .'' and can you buttress what you mean by that

Deleting my comment? well i have nothing to say to that but oga, i aint no kid and that gibberish you refer to will always be directed to such article whenever and wherever it is raised.

Edwin van der Sar (born 29 October 1970[2]) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for English club Manchester United. He is the most capped player in the Netherlands national football team's history.
He started his senior career at Ajax and remained there for nine years before moving to Italian club Juventus and then to England, first to Fulham and then to Manchester United. He is one of the few footballers to have won the UEFA Champions League with two different teams, having won it with Ajax in 1995 and Manchester United in 2008, the latter where he was named UEFA Man of the match; he also won the UEFA Cup with Ajax in 1992.
Throughout his long and illustrious career, Van Der Sar has achieved and set numerous records. in the 2008–09 season he set the world league clean sheet record by not conceding a single goal for 1,311 minutes. Along with being the most capped player in Netherlands national team ever, with 130 caps, he is also the oldest player to win the premier league at 40 years and 205 days old. Individually Van Der Sar has won several honours such as Best European Goalkeeper in 1995, 2008, 2009 and 2010, and UEFA Club Goalkeeper of the Year in 1995 and 2009.
Known for his commanding presence in the penalty area and defence, he is often regarded as the greatest goalkeeper to have played for Manchester United alongside the legendary Peter Schmeichel and also one of the greatest European goalkeepers ever, culled from Google

nice one guys, the Zonal marking stuff was indeed a nice one and their analyses can be buttressed by that towering leap of faith of Messi above VDS and RF to nod in the second goal, anyway Messi plays no false decoys these days. He is Messi and takes on any shape the gaffer wants.

My main concern is that lill rabbit shikarito (apologies to the Prince of Monaco fine-faced Victor Ikpeba), that guy has an uncanny knack for positioning and punishing mistakes plus Rooney's energetic runs but i guess he has Biscuits to contend with, one thing Busi does is hardly putting in a wrong foot for a tackle.

Guys,

I took out time over the weekend to feast my eyes on ESPN classic matches, mehn, the Cup finals between Inter and Ajax in 1972 was a classic, with Cryuff poppin in 2 goals in the 47 and 78th minutes, it was as if i was watching a 2011 Barca squad against a Madrid side, almost a replica of the hostilities, the Ajax passing game was beautiful to the eyes and excellent positioning, the commentator as at then ran out of adjectives to describe the flow of Ajax, Barca really emulated them well, i guess we owe a lot of our developments to Johann

It occured to me that as along as an opposing team controls the game to short precise passes, the other side will continually but foul the possession-laden team, i just hope that with Madrid's recent form and signings, next season will be about footies and not press conferences, BTWX, i really doff my hat for Los Blanco signing Nuri Sahin from B.Dortmond, that guy was the engine room of that team, he is a Xavi look alike in performance.

We are more than equal to the task, we are Barcelona

-I am kinda worried about the rate and extent of begging and pleading for funds from all and sundry in this country. I have never had a problem sharing out any little that God gives me but the rate of begging asking has intensified and i was thoroughly miffed that i spent my entire March salary and bonus giving left, right and center, and had no penny left and i have loads of promises again just waiting for the upcoming pay and ve not even talked about my personal commitments

-the above has also made me worried about telling friends and family and church associates about my progress, cos as i tell them, they intensify and increase what they ask, i told one recently about some good news in my career, he just sent sms that he is resigning his job in the east to come and live with me, i just weak embarassed cry

-Am also worried that my dad has crossed 70yrs and i have not done anything remarkable for him apart from off and on stipends

-am also worried that i have foreclosed my heart to accepting love creep in again after some several past ish from undeserving ladies, now my heart just wont refuse to be mean sad, am suffering for it now

-am also worried about the hate and mean attitude of a certain tribe in my office who always use their language to talk about others and run them down and if others attempt speaking theirs, they grow suspicious and flare up

And at last, we have done it, a hard fought one and a well deserved Title, I bet this is one helluva draw that was as sweet as a victory (if i may paraphrase a ''certain special someone grin) Although i would have loved Lionel EL Messi to cap up such a magnificent season with the pichichi but hey, CR7's playmates have other ideas too, we wish them well, it will be an amazing feeling ''if and when'' Messi makes contributions to seal up the UCL holy grail at Wembley.

It wasnt a good performance yesternyte, i bet Pique is having a lot of close moments with Shakira grin, we need him to be up to his best more than ever on the 28th, he'l have a full hand in Rooney and Chicarito et al to contend with.

supersports.com reports that Fergie looks to Mou for Tips, i bet this is laughable, we dont want ugly scenes at Footies reverred ground on the 28th.

He should also do well to advise him to expect yellows and red if they play his style. I bet SAF wouldn't fall for this kinda gimmicks, although i know we will have a whole lot of vociferous cat calls and crowd chants targeted against several of our ''diving players'' and team as a whole @ Wembley.

We just simply have to be ourselves and play as usual, we dont change our games for anyone, therez been several headline news from Man U's camp, SAF preferring CR& to Messi, Ferdinand's tweet on Pedro and todays several headlines from SAF's interview etc, I just wish Pep and the players will avoid the camera glare and stay focused.

With all due respect, the title is ours to loose, am staying focused on a victory for us

I must confess that am really wearied out with the favoritism whinnings and hulabaloo cry and I have resolved not to delve much into it but I found Cruyff's article on Total Barca quite a piece to read, i just pasted below exercepts,

When I came to Barcelona in ‘88 [as their coach], Madrid, for me, was the best team in the last 40 years [prior to that]. They had La Quinta del Buitre [The five vultures] and had just won three back-to-back league titles. In Barcelona, everyone was crying foul. The referees were to be blamed for everything – Madriditis in every way. They were better, so of course they were winning. They won two more titles [after that] but we were growing [in strength]. [From the time I arrived,] we were helping Madrid to be better but were growing ourselves, until the day when we were playing as good, or maybe even better, than them that we managed to beat them. It was the Dream Team against La Quinta.

, and to remember that this was a Madrid that gave an ovation to Ronaldinho the day he scored his wonder goal at the Bernabeu, one should also not forget the fact about the heartfelt wish the Madrid players extended to Abidal during one of their league games when they wore a shirt in solidarity, but how the relationship was soured in less than 6 months is just crazy.

JM's crave for titles and knack to prove himself surely caused all these, i just wonder if it were in the hey days of Raul and Guti, surely JM may not have had his way with such tactics.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: The Galacticos (Real Madrid Fans Only) by holydante(m): 10:49am On May 04, 2011
I think i readily agree with the fact that JM should bear a greater responsibility for souring the relationship. Immediately he landed in Spain he gave series of interviews and made some veiled references to Barca then and i guess pep choose to ignore him and subsequent utterances until the recent burst up.

Like Ajanle pointed out, the rivalry is neck deep and permeates every aspect of their lives, it simply goes beyond soccer but the recent world cup triumph helped to calm things down a bit but Mou's antics coupled with his former presence as a Barca crew really didnt help matters but hey, life must go on.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: FC Barcelona Fan Thread: "Més Que Un Club" by holydante(m): 9:51am On May 04, 2011
hi Cules,

It was a well deserved finals spot and also a shame on physical footie. Do not cower in the face of anyone that suggests or bandies the UEFA-Barca conspiracy, if UEFA favourtism can make a team to play delightful soccer like Barcelona does, then let it continue, i fully subscribe to that.

I guess the ref just wanted things to be even otherwise they should have been 1 man down as is the norm, Adebayor was just a disgrace-in-chief with what he was doing yesterday. What baffles me is that folks tend to keep quiet in the face of Madrid's less than honorable display in the 4 classico's and make a mountain out of Barca's reaction to the bruises and assault all in the name of closing down players, considering the fact of what they have at their disposal.

The only time JM played us footie this season was the 1st classico and he got bruised at the Nou, and surely the better side did go through.

As it were, on to the next one
