Hey Johnny! You must be a poet you know, am blushn crimson through my dark skin. Am here to learn from the masters too. That makes both of us. @ Stealthy, yes, how can I have done the unpardonable? de Godenzonen are among the elites of the 90's and a formidable force in attacking flair then, pity how they no longer reckon internationally after 1997 beats my imagination, check out the list then- Bergkamp, Kluivert, Finidi, young Papillo, Seedorf, Google-eyed Edgar, Reizeger, The 2 De-Boers, gentle giant Van Dar Sar, Rijkaard et all (all these guys went to other clubs and won lots of titles and accolades too, Van der Sar is sure of picking a title with Man U before retiring). Just like a breeding ground now Lmao @ dippisett, what a hilarious post. Pls don't attempt smothering yourself till moro, Juliet and Romeo did it and it ended unpleasantly. We sure do need you here man Its gonna end up well fellars. Am ransacking all available media outlet for any breaking news on the CL, ve even refused stepping out today, lol |
@Stealth, its a welcome comment form you as always. @JP-double 8, as you mentioned school and roommates, it brought back flooding nostalgic memories of fierce and passionate footie arguements when I was in school with complete football magazine then the main veritable source of footie info; I bet its different now that fellars can put DSTV and flat screen in their rooms and watch with their girlfriends; men then, its the common room in the hostel with a CRT telly high up firmly secured with burglary bars, geez that was the glory days of The Old Lady(Bianconeri), Rossoneri, Bayern Munchen, Los Blancos, Barca(we weren't ding badly then), et all. Lol, just hold your forth bruv,am enjoying your passion. |
debosky:wahala dey oo, Onitsha High Chief, by 2000, I had been through with my Youth service and after 11 yrs, if i never reach to get office then I wonder when it will happen, meanwhile i dont do backsides so i dont wear Atikurised pampers, get? |
debosky:from your onitsha angle, you decoded that i started watching footie last season? nice try @psychology 101 ![]() debosky:The only encounter , and it seems whenever you guys loose, there is always a ready-made explanation Wengay style? Your esteemed self that started watching soccer since time immemorial ''unintentionally'' left out 1999/2000 CL group stage games (1-1 @ Camp Nou) and 4-2 in Barca's favour at your reverred Wembley. You guessed right, am actually sitting down in my office corner presently, nice try fellar |
debosky:the same folks that were in the line up that set the new epl record of a 2nd half 4 goals comeback against a rudderless Toon side that lost their star striker carroll And it seems that Barca has never played same assnal before last season's CL? Its a free world where talk is cheap |
debosky:nwoke m!!!! by the time walcot runs himself ragged, the chickens will come home to roost. 16 games win (H&A) on the trot is no mean feat, you can't trivialise it for all i care. Your ''unofficial crown-king of 100 meters dash'' did the same running around at the Nou and for all his troubles, had a 4-1 withe-wash for compensation. Footie will never compete with Athletics, ask Tijani babangida @Ogazi, we are not loosing this match as far as am concerned |
v3:nope man, not at all, preparation cannot be mistaken for fear. those that fail to plan, plan to fail too. It perfectly normal in fan circles for what is presently going on. @Ogazi, it seems the camp is keeping mum on Capitan's recovery. I am very sure the up front remains as usual but our LB is a big issue, i totally agree with you about Adriano stepping up, Maxwell has no place in this team for now, he made Walcott a star last year and he is yet to step up, i was squirming at his crosses and pass-ball-i give-you-back-play on sat, he is not cataluyan yet (tho pep feels differently). I think he played there then cos Abidal was injured or so and the return leg was a different kettle of fish as Abidal muscled him out. IMO our back four should be Dani/ Pique/Milito/Abidal or Adriano while Biscuit plays in between Xavi & Iniesta. with Abidal's experience, physical strength, long strides and calm collectiveness, I will prefer him more to LB than Adriano Biscuits should play deep in between Xavi and Iniesta as a HM to offer some protection to the back 2 also, Masch may cost us suspension in his tackles, I bet you Assenhole Wengay will surely deploy 5 in the midfield. Our MVP remains unchanged. Anybody feeling me ![]() l |
Ok man, nice to know you are tucked up real safe. Well, we believe the best for this potentially great but unfortunately stuttering country bedevilled by mediocre rulers and decision makers. On the footie turf, it was a shocking 3 mins at El Prat, Casillas got his matching order with what seemed like a very soft foul but one can argue that since it he clipped the guy right outside the outer box then he derserves what he got (ironically coming from a ref JM claims is the best in la liga). Ronaldo's assist to Marcelo was pure class and the left back played like a possesed man yesterday (as an aside, do they still test players for susbstance abuse these days Just asking though). They did well though, big ups to them for clawing back 3 points.CL on my mind. The english press as usual is going gaga over Jack Wilshire, the bext best thing to pop out of england to match the Spanish vision and technicality, Italian ruggedness and the Dutch youth. I believe in the boy too but they are forgetten he's just shy of 20 yrs and needs time to mature and toughen up. The teen's young shoulders may begin to feel the weight of british-hackneyed-expectation; a certain alan smith had the headlines like this on papers and the rest is history as they say. We take it 1 game at a time as it comes. |
Hi 5 Cules, Hmmmm, nice updates and predictions. I have come to respect Jmouth as a fine-winner-takes all tactician for great finals and I expect a thorough improvement from his squad for the CDR however; we have 3 certainities in which Barca will come out tops -its a history-making side that takes it 1 game @ a time -The sentiments of loosing to Inter last season and being denied by JM the 0oorg**mic feeling of vying for the CL title in the heart of their neighbours domain is enough tonic to fire up my Bluagrana-Manita-dealing-machines -the jelling of this current squad, the bench options and Pep's factor make it imperative that victory is assured. Come to think of it, outside footie, Barca's BB team Regal just piqued Madrid's by 68-60 to record their 22nd Spanish cup win and retain their title, and its sweeter cos it was done in Madrid's very own backyard, all these factors will surely pep up the finals and I bet it'l go down as one of the most keenly contested in recent memory. On Barca I stand Viva Barsa |
Stealthy:Exactly my sentiments. Their self belief has been off tha roof since yesternyte. Its like a frenzy and they are all in an 0rg*****ic mood presently. Well,it makes it more interesting for the game. Hope the "greenzone" is safer than ever before Stealth? |
benchwest:I have only chalked up about 300 plus posts on NL against contemporaries that have thousands of posts, the reason not that I don't have 24 hours access to the internet but I rather prefer hearing out history, the good and the not-so-good; but since you are under the illusion that you have something meaningfoolish(less) to post, I just cannot place the above pointless comments. Its not mandatory to post on any thread -A record-making and historical team draws away and its suddenly a downfall? How about our 0-2 loss to Hercules in the 1st part of the season? Please fill in the gaps too -Where does racism come into this reasoning? Racism is everywhere even in this country you claim to originate from All that you raised are just pity-patty and I hope nobody follows me to respond to you. I just have to stop, you must be an un-informed teeny boop!!! |
Well, I would prefer points dropping and lessons learnt for the big one come wed night. I have had a couple of experiences on match-ups like this in the past, I remember how I was overwhelmed by the noise abt UCL Paris final against Assnal, our finals against malu utd, last seasons gooners-match up and more recently the JMouth-influenced-el classico-frenzy; we always have the last laugh. Not taking anything away from our worthy opponents,RV Persie is a striker with a physical presence that amazes me and I hope we'l be fired up as usual for the encounter, I don't expect a "packed bus affair" knowing that Assene Wengay doesn't tinker his team formation for no one although nufn is impossible. I hope we don't conceive 1st. We'l have the last laugh in Catalan. Guys buckle up Meanwhile I expect Madrid to reduce the deficit when they trade tackles with our neigbhours @ Cornella although they've just lost 2 @ home this season, Madrid will make it 3rd IMO. It'l be suicidal for them not to take it all, they have the compliment of a full hungry squad now. |
mama-gee:What is breaking news about an away draw to a team that lost @ home by 2 unreplied goals to a newly promoted team? Footie wheel has been invented and will forever be undergoing repositioning, if this is a breaking news to your ronaldo-infested imagination, then you must be new under the face of the sun and posting on threads is not mandatory. 8 points still ahead pending this night's outcome. On Barca I stand |
Hi 5 fellars(although we scored 1,Never say die pls) I have been M.I.A as usual,so many reasoning points over the past week up till tonight. The much-dreaded national duties have come and gone and characteristically,it always seems to be our waterloo and lull in form; but we can't complain much as the entire clubs in the footie world were affected in one way or the other. They came back burned out and I wonder the intelligence at playing your regular squad for 90 mins, the idea of friendly is to introduce fringe players and blend them in, its not enough excuse, we just have to step up, pity our winning streak came to a break(not end) but its good at times to take some brow-beating so that legs and heads will still be on planet earth. You guys have really hit the nail on the head; Everyone has some shortcomings to take away from this performance, starting from Peps gamble(well the 7 points cushion aided his decision anyway) to the players that failed to step up and the established ones that threw away glaring chance after chance(Pedro's and suprisingly Capitan Xavi). Milito and Maxwell were the worst for me, maxwell in the 1st half hardly made any move, just the mikel obi-give-me-i-give-you-back-kinda- pass, I lost count of several long thrust passes that Pique floated across to him but he'l pass back to the nearest barca player and was just floating meaningless ball into the 18 yard box, Barca does not have physical presence in the air (the only airmaster we have is out with injury) I was pleasantly suprised that he lasted the entire game, altho I noticed that the attack switched to Dani's axis after his "unbarca-like passes" same goes for Milito, we can't be this sloppy against a roving Walcot, tricky Nasri and Clinical R.V Persie. The established ones too couldn't keep their nerves down to make some clinical finishing that would have killed off the game for us, better still to happen at this stage and sacrifice 2 points, we sure need that class of final touch especially in view of the crunch league ties awaiting us. The league has never been won in feb and not on records smashing, all points must surely count and those given opportunity to don the Blaugrana shirt should not let us down. @Stealthy, like you pointed out, in the 1st half, I nervously was looking at the time piece on my telly, wrist watch and phone to re-assure myself that the match was not almost over due to the clear bias of the cricket-sounding commentator, he gave Gijon the 3 points in the 1st half and repeatedly queried any tackle of Barca and the ref for being lenient on Barca, it was disgusting to say the least. The only way for Barca to shut such mouths is to come to any party and do the needful. Sufficient unto the day. On Barca I stand |
Well, I believe looserpool's self belief has never been this high and I sure do give them this for the taking but the preference for a packed backline by Daglish limits their scoring opportunities,if kuyt is marked out and Meireles doesn't come to the party, who'l do the scoring?Maxi? Nzogbia is certainly gonna trouble Carragher and Skertle and they have a good finisher in Rodallega. |
Dzeko's love affair with old toilet continues, nice come back from citeh tho their midfield is @ sixes and sevens with no depth, only Yaya seems to have flair but his defensive abilities is wack. Malu utd can take this match with determination |
Altho Sociedad is doing relatively well by all recent accounts however the head to head record stacks up against the Basque side agaisnt Los Blancos, its not a match where upset is expected, although if a certain Christiana and Dimaria fail to come to the party and frenchy Benzema continues misfiring, then impossible is nothing. Petulant Ronaldo has not scored in a while and with Messi running rampant with goals, that's enough to fire up the showman in white to prove his worth too. Am in a relaxed mood waiting for the game, Looserpool shelsi match up aint producing no fire works giving what happened yesterday, perhaps d ligaBBVA will lighten up the sunday for moi. 10 points above them, I'l appreciate a loss or draw for them but hey who cares, worse, we'l still be 7 points above board. On High-5 Barca I stand |
King Kenny, started looserpool on a defensive line up, I know he is a great legend but trying to adapt his side to match the opponent may backfire, just Kuyt up there in attack Meanwhile Torres obviously has butterflies in his tummy, cldve done well to set up Drogba, that aint a 50m quid shot |
Ok, wise one, it was the league my mind was on,thanks for the info. I just hope Pep and the lads will watch minute by minute play of Asssnal-Magpies match up and discover some inherent loopholes in the team. Not taking anything away from the fact that epl officiating is mostly clap-trap especially given the fact that there seems to be a silent conspiracy to aid certain club in their title quest, but for a team to blow a 4 goals lead(even with 10 men) is utterly absurd, implication is that even with a huge goal advantage, the snod-wearing gooners can be pushed all the way to the wire I think I saw a leaderless club(I have this believe that Cesc would rather do well under an influential captain than him calling the shots), and a glaring mismatch of play in their CB and MF areas, and their injury woes piles up, now they are muting the idea of recalling lads on loan which seems desparate, as its, everything worketh untogether for good for them that plan to fail. We are coming to town Londoners |

Hi-5 fellars, Had to take out time from my schedule to pop in,big ups all for keeping up the good job. ATM match ups has always posed a tricky one with lots of thrills, our Sept 2010 league trip to Vicente Calderon(we loose there often tho we won last time) had Ujfalusi with that dangerous tackle on Messi that saw him strchered off and sidelined for some weeks and for their return leg,I didn't expect less from Messi again as I know he'l attack the ball in his face again. Quique Sanches Flores(meanwhile I like the sound of his name, sounds more like a mafia boss) suprisingly did not start play with Forlan and Aguero considering how well they link up over the years. As it panned out,I guess he has himself to blame. 16 on the trot, records been broken and set, like stealthy pointed out,it wasn't a classic 100% that we wld love to see but 3 points assured in an emphatic fashion. Quintessential messi @ his kingdom, the high point of the game for me was his backtracking to get the ball off Aguero's surging run,it brought minutes of applause and sheer admiration from the fans and he started the 3rd goal moves and still continued on the trajectory even after villa mis hit (and like I always advocate, providence favours the resilient) he attacked d ball and jinked it into the net, for the 3rd time(medjai I thot its 3?) this season,Lionel Messi walks of the pitch with the ball as his prize for a hat trick,he is still less than 25,its just mind boggling. Others did wella too. I am just loving Pep, his calm demanour and respect for all oppositions, just takes every 90 mins as it comes. Temporary 3 points out of the 10 points above the "eternal rival" we will watch their match moro in a far relaxed ambience,(a draw won't be bad for them). Catch us if you can Jmouth!!! While we are setting records, Keeping an eye on our "esteemed" CL opponents, they allowed a record to be set against them (the only epl side to blow away a 1st half 4-0 lead) I suprisingly saw them tore Colocini and the Magpies defence to shreds as they went up 2 in three minutes and I decided its a done deal only to switch back and saw the horror;they played an interesting 5 pack in the midfield altho I didn't finish the match to find out how they alternated,I guess Diaby's matching orders changed the course of the game. Djorou added to their injury woes, well snod-wearing bois, we are surely coming to town. On Barca I stand |
chic2pimp: ) to them and the big salary, they should enjoy it while it lastsRuuDie: ![]() |
Stealthy: nice one Stealthy, MVP, a new term for guys. well done |
another factor that gets folks confused and they think Messi plays from the right is that he is more comfy drifting to to the right and picking up the ball there, drives in across the face of the goal line and switches ball to the left and quickly tucks it in with his left or gives a killer pass with it. He is more faster and lethal with his left foot. Other opinions are welcome |
usbcable:usb port, i tell you solemnly, it is only here that people float from one club to another due to a clubs success/ or personality that moves to the club, in the western world and the not-so-developed, and even Asia, it is a muted form of religion, it may interest you to know that there are some dedicated shrines in Celebrity Beckham's name in Asia during his prime. It is scary but i must tell you that it is so which i believe you know already.Fierce Passion should not be mistaken for fanaticism given the pure footie that Barca is offering now, i guess all cules are so proud to be on board the train, i remain proud and humble at the same time. Johnny-Pee-double-8 is a guy with a good heart pls. I suppose you support shelsi? some cash-spending-spree by Roman A in the last 2 days, i wish you guys quick trip back to the top @ TA, a quick one, dont argue footie, just reason and let it there; folks argue with their legs most often, Our gaffer does it Villa (left); Messi (Middle) and Pedro (Right) like Johnpaul noted Johnpaul88:Messi being the utility he is occasionally switches with Pedro and links up with Iniesta and Dani I believe same too but villa has 2-feet shooting ability although he prefers his left(he is naturally right-footed), in a star-studded team like this certain sacrifices has to be made to accommodate everyone. |
Pro02:eeeeeeeewwwwwww . Guy are you English-bred?? No so so purge Torres go dey purge as he is collecting his allowee there, your ![]() |
We are solidly 7 points rooted @ the la liga top spot with Madrid needing us to loose 2 matches and pull a draw for them to play catch up(assuming they maintain a winning streak) For los blancos trobles and visit to Pamplona, they got handed a 1-0 thrashing. It was a nice game plan by the deep backline of Osasuna, they stuck like leech on Ronaldo and didn't give any breathing space to Ozil n Dimaria to free the guy and come up with somefn tangible, Benzema continued his misfiring streak and was suprisingly kept on all through the hostilities. Camuno put the pamplona side up by 1,the goal looked marginally offside but replay has it as a clear one Mou did a desparate 3-man change @ a go with Diarra out for Alonso, Kaka on for Albion, and Adebayor(meanwhile Adebayor has not played a competitive match since Nov and it showed in his performance) for Dimaria, that had a massive attacking option but the suprising outcome was that Osasuna even created more scoring chances after Madrids scary substitutions and every of their player gave a confidence display that was amazing, Pandiani even refused to be susbstituted and the ref had to blow play on(tho he later was substituted). I suppose Christina made one shot attempt @ the opposition. Osasuna blew some clear cut goal scoring opportunities with a goal line clearance by Madrid (they cldve easily have been 2 or 3 goals up). Worthy of mention is that the officiating was grossly baised in favour of madrid with 10 yellow cards flashed and Mou showed great courage and restraint by not screaming @ his under performing players. Wow,its a tough one for them with a crunch tie against Sevilla mid week for CDR,they'l need to be at their best This puts them within 6 points of The Yellow submarines and that'l be a tonic for villareal to play catch up (they are currently 17 mins into their Espanyol game and am expecting fireworks from these two sides) 7 points adrift, catch us if u can On Barca I stand |
The Osasuna backline are on Ronaldo like a gum, he aint being allowed breathing space, its up to Ozil n Dimaria to free the guy and come up with somefn. Camuno has put the pamplona side up by 1,the goal looks marginally offside but replay has it as a clear one Mou wants to wave a magic wand, 3 changes @ a go Diarra out for Alonso, Kaka for Albion, and Adebayor(meanwhile Adebayor has not played a competitive match since Nov) for Dimaria, that's a massive attacking option. Well,if it ends like this, goodnews for Barca, 7 points adrift, catch us if u can On Barca I stand |
tenks scantee n medjai @ medjai, wow!!! Per molts anys and Moltes Felicitats(catalan for happy birthday) *pops an imaginary elders seamans aromatic schnapp and beckons of all well meaning Barca family to pray for many more happy returns and Gods blessings on you. May you sing glorious songs all the days of ur life, * Nxt up against Almeira on wed for the CDR is largely an academic affair but I believe we have learnt our lesson from the Betis affair that rattled some nerves and ruined our records and showed how not to relax until it is over. With all due respect to our opponents I guess we shld be lookn 4wrd to a finals with Sevilla or Madrid. We'l have a toughie against At.madrid on sat but they got thumped by Bilbao this evening although the officiating that reduced them to 10 men and the penalty call was dubious and questinable. In any case, we are up to any game. Anyone who is downplaying the importance and grit that Dani adds to our attack is just being economical with the truth, his roving runs, back tracking to do his defensive works and near perfect telepathy with Messi deserves a pay raise for him if he asks for it, with Biscuits contract extension,I hope it does rub off on him too. 19 out of 21 league games played 8 resultant goals outta 31 assist in the league 1resultant goal outta 12 assists in the CL 8 assists with 1 goal in CDR I sure do hope our Board won't be petty enough not to give him a pay rise, let it not look like their largesse favors only the spanish bred ones. The stats for this great team keeps on piling up, 67 leagues goals so far this season(average of abt 2.7 per game), 401 goals in 157 "official games" since Pep took over 2 & half seasons ago, more frm our site. Just currently on Madrid-Osasuna play, quite a ding-dong affair,Adebayor's on the bench. On Barca I stand |
Lol@ this ressurected thread. Funny how most of the postulations here still played itself out, Spain has proven itself since 2006 that this started, and its viewership rating has gone off the hook. England is yet to win Uefa or WC and the has paraded less influence in CL too, they still remain financially stable with massive viewership. Like chich2pimp insisted, Ibracadabra didn't live up to his predictions and has shipped out of Barca. In footie, you are as good as your last result, I guess Spain is on top. On Barca we stand |
@4llerbuntu; Na so!! During asssnal's invincibilty era where they were thumping oppositions week in week out, it wasnt a boredom then to watch cos its your club with a professor as a coach, 49 games unbeaten run, it became a hollywood title. Another teams is doing theirs in a unique way and style, it becomes a planet jupiter affair?? So much so for fairness!!!! Our eyes have not started complainning of following the result-oriented intricate footie passes of Barsa, thanks for dropping by though, pls come again |
Stealthy:Hi bud,why would you be having issues with your channels,it can be frustrating, what's your decoder's make and is it the one dstv used for the promo? FA and EPl takes precedence on SS3N and SS10, we are always left with SS7 and 5 basically for la liga Pity that ESPN channel does politics with Barca as they hardly ever show our matches but be sure never to miss any of madrid's league match their frequency. I have seen several anti-barsa write ups by espn correspondents on their site. |
