Not before forcing him to divulge where and where he laundered the billions he stole from Delta state treasury
i don't care about where he laundered the money afterall what has the ones they got back from alarm, abacha and balogun used for? did it affect anything in your life? it's better people like these are killed once and for all. if you caught, you are killed just like armed robbers/murderers are killed.

Naija Village to ease accommodation worries

Nigerians travelling to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup will have their accommodation worries eased with the provision of accommodation facilities at the Naija Village.

Premium Sports CEO Nkechi Obi, whose company has been licensed to run the project by the NFF, says the Naija Village will offer up to 3, 500 beds at affordable rates for Nigerians travelling south for the event.

"We want to ensure that as many Nigerians as possible can watch the World Cup without tearing a big hole in their pockets.

"We had three objectives in setting up this project. The first was to provide pocket-friendly accommodation. The second was to recreate Nigeria outside Nigeria for Nigerians and others, and the third was to be part of an historic African event.

"That is why we are providing accommodation that is affordable, and environment that is welcoming and familiar, and entertainment that is uniquely Nigerian."

She added that of the 9 other countries who will play phase games in Durban, at least three were in talks to take 'Country Days' at the Naija Village.

"We are hoping to conclude discussions within the next couple of weeks. It will be an opportunity for them to show their country and their businesses."

The Naija Fan Village is a Premium Sports Project licensed by the Nigeria Football Federation and is located on Westville Road in Durban , South Africa.

According to Obi, the Village will be access controlled using special security key-cards and apart from the accommodation, also has cafeteria, swimming pool, gymnasium, mini-football field, church and mosque, mini shopping complex and match ticket terminal.

"It is about celebrating 50 Years of Nigerianness in this year of our 50th Independence as a nation and we hope that Nigerians can take full advantage of it."

Lagerback, Eagles parley in danger

Posted: 2010-04-22 23:12

Lars Lagerback’s planned meet and greet with his 44-man provisional World Cup squad is in serious jeopardy after several European clubs wrote to the NFF withholding permission for their players to attend.

Everton, Olympic Marseille, Hapoel Petah Tikvah and Alania are some of the clubs that have written formally to the Nigeria federation, holding back permission for their players to attend the session in England.

KickOffNigeria.com understands that other clubs have called in, while a few players have also spoken to the NFF begging off after failing to get the permission of their clubs.

Several players told KickOffNigeria.com that they have been unable to convince their clubs to release them for the two-day session as clubs battle it out in the final stretch of the European football season.

Lagerback had planned to meet up in London for two days with the squad, but a top official of the NFF told KickOffNigeria.com that that arrangement no longer looks workable.

“We may have to cancel the meeting in the interest of the players’ careers and their relationship with their clubs,” a federation official said. “We are naturally very disappointed, but we do not want to cause any friction between them.”

NFF executive committee member Taiwo Ogunjobi, however, said the meeting would go ahead, even if some players cannot make it.

“This is just a meeting for the Technical Adviser to meet and be introduced to the players. So even if some of them can’t make it, it won’t be a problem.”

Pinnick escapes NFF sanction

Posted: 2010-04-23 14:27

Delta State Football Association Chairman Amaju Pinnick has been handed a warning by the NFF's Disciplinary Committee after he tendered a written apology over his statement criticising the NFF.

Pinnick had asked the NFF to apologise to the Rivers State government over its handling of the matter involving Sharks Football Club, but faced by the Disciplinary Committee, withdrew his statements, saying he 'regretted any embarrassment the publication might have caused the NFF and its leadership' and offered a written apology.

Pinnick was warned to desist from making such statements in the future.

Me, anytime they look at such as slum, I go wonder wetin dem wan call Eric Moore Towers and 1004 Towers. grin

The main problem with that type of building is some alcoholic low-life pissing in the lifts, and the communal areas are probably cleaned once a week.

Yeah, I live in Lagos; but am one of the lucky few not to be sorrounded by sewers (it doesn't in any way set me above the average Lagosian).
I see what goes on around me and am real about it. Yesterday I posted about my visit to Ijora Badia; it was an emotionally scarring experience that I wouldn't wish to repeat, we must learn to do things better.

These things are there for each and every one of us to see, lets not pretend we don't see them.
good, so the rest places apart from your end is a slum, glory be to God!

You are just being sentimental. The fact is living conditions in Nigeria are poor.
I am sorry, but if you think it is the citizens business to set up cleanliness standards (known as health and safety), you couldn't be farther away from the truth. It is the governments duty to set standards, but in Nigeria, its all about chopping.
We have zero standards and as long as able bodied men argue for mediocrity, we will continue heading backwards. In case you don't know, Makoko has actually been growing, rather than shrinking. It is a shame.

Yes it is a slum by the dictionary definition.
i hear you, can't argue further with you, yes, 11 million lagosians live in the makoko slums, the rest 7 million live in the ajegunle's slum. are you happy now? undecided undecided undecided undecided, please say yes so we can both go in peace.

Ok, lets assume you have never hopped across an open sewer in Lagos. The fact is still that they are everywhere and it is an unhygenic practice that is only found in slums.
We are better off sorting out our problems than berating those who point them out.

Your second paragraph agree's 100% with everything I have said, both with my earlier mention of Jamaica (although a bit guilty with open sewers in ghettos too) and with our lack of standards.
Where did i agree with you abeg?

we all know that we have slums in Lagos, but 11million people? that's a pure lie, BTW, do u live in Lagos? pls note, i didn;t ask if you lived in Lagos, i said, do u live in Lagos?

The only agreement i have with the thread is Lagos having a slum, but to claim 11million out of 18million live in slums is a FATAL lie.

What did BBC say about Lagos (the true ones) that you didn't know before?

@Honeric

That guy knows next to nothing

sewer in front of houses?

are the drainages open in Lagos?

who are these people chatting original opaks?
i am just sick of the guy too, every last Saturday in Lagos, there's a compulsory environmental sanitation from 6am-10am, if you are caught outside, you pay heavy sum of money or be made to sleep in the cell after going through the court process. every Thursday in all markets in Lagos, there's environmental sanitation from 6am-10am and it must be obeyed.

Beaf, if you don't know now, you should know.

our dirtiness in Lagos is a citizen problem and not the governments fault, lagosian are just too carefree and i blame it on their IDC attitude.
PoliticsRe: BBC Says 11 Million Lagosians Live In Slums - Rubbish Journalism by honeric01(m): 12:36pm On Apr 23, 2010
Beaf:
I actually don't (doesn't make me any different), but 90% of Lagosians have something to hop across on their way home. In the UK, where the BBC is based, that is a health and safety crime that will be visited with heavy fines and even jail time, if corrective steps aren't taken.

Aside from berating the BBC here (which we all seem to agree, has a negative agenda), what corrective steps have any of our govts taken to right the bestial life standard of 90% of our populace? I am listening.
Drainage in some parts of Lagos are covered and no one jumps across them before entering their houses, i mean the front house are always covered except parts where people don't have anything to do with.

if anyone is to talk about proper housing, it's not that UK, i am yet to see any nice house in the UK (for average people), except those 10x by 10x rooms they call houses, if you want to see standard houses, go to the states.
