Shebi government has done their part in securing land? Let the guy who has been wailing go there in start a business

The government still needs to promote it to attract investors both foreign and local. Unless it will lie dormant. I was on Twitter recently when someone asked if Enugu had a free trade zone. The responses shows that many don’t know about it.

There is massive Ceramic industrial complex alone Enugu/Onitsha express road Oji River Enugu state, I doubt if there is any industrial complex in the east with that size,it's still under construction, I guess it's own by Chinese

Impressive. We need more of this for Enugu. I wonder what happened to lion business park.

Also, notice that after Lagos, the next 5 states with the biggest GDP are in SE and SS. Same regions also have the best developmental indices in areas like housing, education, purchasing power, health care urban and rural development etc.

I am surprised that you are the first to mention this. The SESS region is an economic gold mine outside of Lagos. Igbos need to see the bigger picture and start massive investments in those areas. This is why I am a big fan of Enyimba economic city idea because the conceptualizers of the project stressed the untapped SE/SS market.

How many plots have you farmed so far? This guy is not serious. The people attitude is what determined what happen in the state not government. Ebonyi love farming, Anambra love trading but you in Enugu love enjoyment. Stop blaming government for everything

Enugu is actually doing amazing in real estate sector. But they need more economic diversification.

Imo, Anambra and Abia states have lots of potentials to do even much better. Now, that they're showing hostility to Igbos in Lagos and some other parts of Nigeria, more influx of investments are expected in the SE region.

One of the biggest market/ industrial zone construction is going on in Anambra state but they don’t know. It’s being built by Igbo businessmen in Lagos.

Lol, if you look at the propaganda and lies by people of the waste, you will think that SE is the worst region in Nigeria.

Their biggest regret is the internet that have exposed them as the worst and most underdeveloped region in Nigeria. They keep hiding behind Lagos while their region rots.

Over 90% of houses in their region are derelict slums.

I always know Imo State is relatively developed by Nigerian standard and has a lot of activities going on. The volume of passengers alone passing through its airport is also an indication.

The south east is shockingly doing well. The economic data that has been coming out recently is very encouraging.

On nairaland front page, the south east is a war zone but in reality, the south east is experiencing a rapid economic expansion.

With all the Unknown gunmen and sit at home nonsense, the 2 states of Anambra and Imo with highest incidence are still doing so well. Thought they said the sit at home has crumbled the Eastern economy?

Even Abia with all the propaganda against it attracted the most FDI after Lagos and Abuja. This is why we need to be careful of the news nairaland is pushing to the front page.

That's it, blame the past Governors, even ebonyi has left us behind.

Ebonyi invested heavily in urban and rural infrastructures for 8 years.

This enabled the facilitation of trade and movement of agricultural products

Built state funded agro-allied industries.

Generated revenue from multiple quarry mines in the state.

Mining which made Enugu what it is has become a moribund sector. Check the position of Plateau, another former mining giant

Look at the level of mining going on in ebonyi today. It’s contributing to their GDP plus all the massive infrastructure built which gave trade and agriculture a massive boost.

Every state must not be industrilized

Enugu is doing well in real estate sector but when it comes to manufacturing, tourism, retail and trade, healthcare, mining etc they are not even up to a quarter of their potential.

The real figures might be different.

I agree these are estimates but NBS is really slacking. It’s their job to release the actual numbers but they haven’t done any since 2017.

This is one of the many incompetences of buharis administration.

In 2015 in a work whatsapp group i was called names by some of my colleagues when i said Buhari has no track record of success and not capable of performing. They abused hell out of me. Between 2018 and 2019 many of them ran to Canada and USA. I even met one babe at the ielts centre and we exchanged details. This babe was posting Buhari second term on social media. Apparently she was in one of the support groups. One day i challenged her , after we jammed again in one Canada group .she was like she is wetting the ground down for future appointments. I muted her posts since then . Some people are evil and heartless

Honestly, the hypocrisy is sickening. How can you vote horrible people into power then have the mind to leave the country for a better life. All just to brag that your person is power.

It's unfortunate that we share a country where so many are willing to cut their noses to spite their face.

If you'd take your time to check and read on Tinubu's antecedents and record. he's at all not to bad

Well time will tell. Igbos warned about buhari and the disaster he will become, they were ignored because of hatred and short sightedness. Now they are warning the same about tinubu and his people are rejoicing. Time always vindicates the Igbos.

Shetimma is one million times smarter than you.

He called out the western media publicly because of their misrepresentation of Africa, while an empty headed dunce like you is calling on the same west to retain our stolen trillions while children in Nigeria go to bed hungry.

You’re worthless.

Stupid air head. All big mouth no brain.

But why ain't you blaming Igbos to for always being a chest beater and a lousy mouth making people??

No igbo man is myopic enough to vote bad leadership because they are worried about being made fun of.

Igbos actually need good leadership no matter where that person comes from because with good leadership, everyone benefits.

On the other hand some others care about their tribe being made fun of more than they care about good leadership.

UK can help us by sending the money stolen from back to Nigeria.

The money that Nigerian leaders have stolen nko? You have no grounds to demand such from the British especially when you have populations voting regressive and corrupt leaders.

A guy shared a story of when he was waiting for his transfer flight and got in conversation with certain Nigerians who voted for tinubu and were in the middle of Japa.

He asked them that they seem reasonable, why did they vote for tinubu after experiencing the last 8 years of buhari. They kept quiet until one of them said that they were worried that igbos will make fun of them if Peter obi had won.

So because they didn’t want igbos to make fun of them, they voted for tinubu.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the mentality of people you share a country with.

Personally, I have no problem with people who have given up on Nigeria and decided to try their luck in other places.

Except for one group of people.

THOSE WHO VOTED THE BAD LEADERSHIP WE ARE SUFFERING FROM THEN RUNNING AWAY BY THEMSELVES OR WITH THEIR FAMILIES.

How can you vote for buhari and tinubu yet you refuse to stay in Nigeria to witness the government that you voted for?

It's not really about the doctors but about enlightenment and ownership. Come to Imo state you will see health centers built by collective efforts of communities.

There is definitely a sense of community that helps too. A lot of pregnant women are supported with prenatal facilities built by community, government or private.
Health / Re: South East Performs Best In Neonatal Mortality/Death Rate by horsepower102: 10:56am On May 22, 2023
I think the south south is high because the rural areas are medically neglected. Most medical infrastructures are concentrated in the cities.
Health / South East Performs Best In Neonatal Mortality/Death Rate by horsepower102: 10:45am On May 22, 2023
Of course there is tremendous room for improvement in the south east. We can reduce it to 5 within a decade with better investment in prenatal and post natal care.

The stats below show child deaths for every 1000 births for 2021

You're right. How is the Enyimba economic city going? Or has work stalled?

I just hope Alex Otti will prioritize it. Bring in more investors. Connect it by electric rail to Aba and extend to Umuahia via Enugu/P.H express way.

The biggest problem will have in Igboland is mediocre governors who believe that once they build a few roads and renovate a handful of schools then it's time to embezzle money.

The EEC development company won the contact of Onitsha to Aba to port harcourt federal road in December 2022. They need that road as the major road leading into the project site and they have been asking federal government for it. I also heard that one of the chairmen of EEC is on otti’s transition team
