Export Emporium

Anambra State has initiated the development of an export emporium, aiming to create a standardized point for showcasing, branding, and containerizing all export-bound products. This strategic move aligns with the state government's focus on supporting the export sector and promoting industrialization efforts. The export emporium, to be established on a 40-hectare land, will serve as a hub for Anambra's export brands, offering employment and revenue benefits while enhancing the state's economic growth.

I have compiled development plans for Anambra State under the Soludo administration through analysis of press releases, interviews, and personal research. The following projects are strategically designed to revamp Anambra State, catalyzing its modernization and significantly boosting its GDP.

This list is not all inclusive as there are some projects not listed but this will help us keep track of things. Overall I am excited for Anambra state and its future.

Politics / Re: South-east Remains The Most Peaceful Region In Nigeria by horsepower102: 7:29pm On Jun 17, 2023
Igboid:
This is for people who are only interested in negative news and falsehoods.
SE will always stay the most peaceful region in Nigeria, it was in bid to protect that state of peace that ESN was formed to ensure that the herdsmen didn't bring the "middlesbelt" war theatre to us.
Sometimes to protect peace, you must sacrifice peace.
I think we have reached an equilibrium with the herdmen now and things have returned to their status quo.
Ndiigbo remains a peaceful people and this is reflected in our Homeland. We have no history of fighting or trying to disposses our hosts all over Nigeria of their lands. We pay for all we get and we abide by the laws of Nigeria.

Congratulations to South East.

cc: Horsepower

Thank GOD for people like you in this world that are pragmatic and deal with facts.

One thing about Ndi Igbo is that we don’t sweep things under the rug.

For example if 3 people are killed in the south east and 40 are killed in the south west, you will likely hear more complaints from igbos about the 3 that were killed then the 40 killed in the other region.

Same things happens with governance. We complain more about the mishaps of our governors than any other region. It will be shocking to some to find out that ikpeazu actually performed much better than their governors despite all the complaints that we labeled against him.

The only reason Ndigbo continue to make progress is because we don’t hide the ills in our land. We put it out there to force change. Those who continue to pretend that all is well in their region continue to suffer in silence.

ThinkAkwaIbom:
I've watched with utmost disbelief how one Okwuluora has mobilized unspeakable hate against Ibom Air, West Africa's only and most successful subnational Airline Brand.

According to him, there was a technical issue and their flight could not leave Enugu for Lagos. It is enough to rant, but mobilizing hate and calling for the end of the airline is wickedness and tribal witchcraftcy.

When people said the Igbos approached the 2023 elections with bigotry and bitterness, I defended them because I have a few of them as friends. What I have seen since last night by Igbo influencers is bigotry and bitterness.

There is no airline, Global and Local company that has not had cause to delay flights because of Technical glitches. From Emirates to Air France.

It is sad that the Igbos have subtly decided to attempt to demarket Ibom Air owned by a neighboring Akwa Ibom in a bid to promote an airline owned by one of them.

Today, Igbos are the second highest employees of Ibom Air, after Akwa Ibom indigenes. Ibom Air is owned by a State where over one hundred thousand Igbos are living peaceably and doing business without any form of attacks. The Igbos have businesses in Akwa Ibom and never has any conspire to demarket them. Tell me one single time Akwa Ibom people have shown hated against the Igbos?

For the records, Ibom Air is on the only Nigerian Airline listed in the top 10 airlines in Africa by the globally recognized Business Insider. Ibom Air was Leadership Company of the year and in only four years of commercial operations, Ibom Air is rated as one of the most successful airlines in the country.

Ibom Air has, as part of its assets, 10 A220 aircraft valued at one Hundred Billion Naira, and home Company to West Africa's only MRO facility. This is not a kind of investment you instigate hatred against.

I call on proud sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom to rise and defend our own brand.

Akwa Abasi Akwa Ibom Aya diong Ibom Air. Yak Ekikere mmé idiok Owo ade ntak ntak. Amên

So you picked up a rant from an igbo person and use it to drive a narrative against Igbos.

So millions of igbo people should bear the responsibility of any Igbo person that offends you.

My guy you have no case here. Supporting Peter obi is for the good of Nigeria.

You are not doing igbos any favors by doing so.

It’s either you want good governance or you don’t. Simple

Gilgil:
No my bro or sis (not sure). :-)

First is cost: 1 kg of steel in useful form, in this case structural steel (in that form) is far more expensive than 1 kg of cement/concrete.

The equivalent in useful application to that structural steel is reinforced concrete and even at that, the cost of 1kg of concrete (cement +water +sand + gravel + reinforced steel rods) is still cheaper than 1 kg of structural steel.

Majorly because we dont have a well developed steel mills that will drive cost down and improve demand. thanks to the Nigerian Government.

There is demand for structural steel but its mostly for industrial applications (warehouses and factories) which need more load strength for features like over-head cranes and other heavy equipment, and also because structural steel allows for more open space in the design to fit and refit equipment without breaking down walls, you just bolt, rivet, weld. As a result, the steel grade, manufacturing process strengthens the steel more for this application and consequently increasing the cost.

on the contrary, the major demand for buildings in terms of number is residential and commercial buildings which do not need that level of strength etc. and so they go for the cheaper concrete.

Check Nigeria prices in the market: 1 bag of cement = N4,500, 1kg of gravel could be N2,000, 1 kg of sharp sand could be N2,000

In terms of knowledge, we are not where we should be but trust me, many experienced Nigerian professionals in the field abound but you may only see them abroad.

So even if the costs start coming at par, which is not likely, people wont be building home with structural steel profiles. Reinforced concrete would always be chosen.

Honestly, thank you for taking the time to break this down.
Everything you said is true. If we can mass produce steel in cheaper and larger quantities to a point that the cost is almost equivalent to cement/gravel/sand/rods, adoption would increase.

Everything comes down to stable electricity to build heavy industries like steel plants. The currents plants are tiny.

Politics / Re: Had It Been Emefiele Is From North, Yorubas Will Never Condemn Him by horsepower102: 10:18pm On Jun 10, 2023
proeast:
Something ridiculous is happening in Nigeria. When Goodluck Jonathan was president, Yorubas kept attacking him daily, along with his ministers from SE and SS. Those from the North were never blamed. The likes of Sambo Dasuki, Maina etc that committed massive frauds were never attacked by them.

Then Buhari came, they turned full circle and realized that it's ministers and Nigerians that must be blamed when things go wrong, and not the president. Now, they're celebrating the suspension and arrest of Emefiele as if he the one responsible for all of Nigeria's problems. Yet Buhari that employed him and gave him orders, non of them is even mentioning him talk more demonizing him.

If Buhari were to be from SS or SE and Emefiele happens to be from North, all their attacks would have been on Buhari while Emefiele will be ignored. I hope Nigerians are seeing this dangerous pattern.

It’s FEAR and COWARDICE masking as bravery.

They fear the Muslim north more than anything. They attack Igbos and south south people because they know that those groups will tolerate them.

Clearly you don't know much about steel manufacturing.

The same steel rolling mills that makes iron rods makes channels and profiles.

So it's about demand and the mill will tweak the production line.

Understood. Thanks for the clarification.

Would you by any chance know why demand would be low? Why are we so cement dependent when we can also use steel bars for construction. Is it lack of knowledge or education?
Politics / Re: Gov Soludo Commissions Milton Steel plant in Awkuzu, Anambra(photos) by horsepower102: 4:23pm On Jun 09, 2023
If cities in the south east ever plan to start having modern high-rises and skyscrapers, steel industries must start manufacturing Steel Beams.

I feel like focusing on steel rods only caters to the old archaic way of construction. It’s time modernize our construction processes.

Nigerian TikToker takes it upon himself to document the state of the FCT, Abuja before the new president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who single-handedly built Lagos state claims it.

We don’t want to hear stories about how someone built Abuja.
Such claims have already befallen Lagos former Capital of Nigeria!!

As posted on instagram:

It may look stupid to some people but I don’t blame this person for documenting Abuja because we know how a certain group use propaganda to deceive people.

In a few years, They will tell their children that tinubu put all the major infrastructures in Abuja and their children will come online to continue their legacy of propaganda.

Jonathan’s priority is to keep Nigeria one. He believes political instability will break up Nigeria. That’s why he wanted to support INEC by embracing tinubu immediately. He did the same for buhari even though buhari threatened his life in 2011.

Dangote is part of the problem, not a solution.

SE and SS combined has the biggest purchasing power parity in Nigeria. The two regions also have the biggest market and are in close proximity with cities close to one another. So, I wonder the obsession with Lagos by some of our people.

Enyimba economic city is a great idea and with Alex Otti, it is expected to boom. It's situated in very strategic location between Aba and P.H. it's also within the oil region and is planned from scratch.

Anambra government should also build something like that around the Onisha waterfront. Onitsha has lost a significant number of its elite residents to Asaba and they're currently planning a new city to attract even more. I'm not against Asaba since it's also an Igbo city but Onitsha should have a new city or suburb that is purpose-built.

Even me from Asaba area want Onitsha to have its own Modern city that will rival Eko Atlantic.
