LiteratureRe: We Need To Write And Publish More Books In Nigeria by hotangel2(f): 3:09am On Aug 26, 2006
Quote from: KikiDixy on August 23, 2006, 03:09:35 AM
Nigerian literature is one of those most celebrated in Africa. We've made great contributions to literature in Africa, and a lot of new writers like Chimamanda Adichie are slowly getting recognition worldwide, so I doubt we have a problem in that regard, let's not turn our publishing industry to "Nollywood" style, were we churn out several books in a period that leave no literary mark. i personally am proud of the nigerain literary sect and the arts sector as well, there are some really good works out there at the moment. I'll post some good links when I can
Good point.

EducationRe: What Is The Meaning Of 'Deja Vu'? by hotangel2(f): 3:30am On Aug 24, 2006
Eurphoria:
Girly did not ask for a long or short meaning of the word. Basically your explanation to someone who does not know what Deja vu is or the feeling, would not know what you are talking about. I felt the explanation i found would help her get a full meaning of this word. Ever heard of Deep and surface learning?  (if u are in university or have been you will know what this means)

I don't appreciate your comment, you are free to give your explanation of the word the poster enquired about, you just don't go about dismissing others when all you have done is scratched the surface and in effect sounded like a parrot.

Sorry maybe i should have waited till you came on the thread to give your meaning, i think you a bit peeved that someone got here before you. i see you come here telling grown men and women about life, when you have hardly stared life yourself love, On my worst day you can not out smart me love.

I am out sorry girly didnt mean to upset your thread just like to speak my mind when people with the attention  of a goldfish try to appear smart.
@ Eurphoria, I wasn't in anyway trying to prove that i was 'smart'. Real smart people don't blow their trumpet to the world. And I Didn't say your meaning was wrong.

Now i see no reason why u had to preach an epistle on the fact that 'on your worst day, u are smarter than me' when i didn't even mean what i said to offend you. But hey, If i offended u in any way whatsoever with what i have said, I'm sorry ma'am.  I clearly have offended you (even tho i didn't mean to offend you), So I'm Sorry.  I never said i was smarter than you, neither was i trying to 'out smart' you.

BTW,  I love goldfish, u know the snack? I prefer the one made from cheese.https://images.golivewire.com/emoticons/sly.gif

RomanceRe: Who Should Pay For Dinner Dates? by hotangel2(f): 5:19am On Aug 23, 2006
If it's a first date, and as a guy you were the one that asked me, You sure as hell gone pay for the damn dinner date. Hell, u don't got money on you? Leave your shoes or something because i ain't paying, u asked me out. cheesy

Now u know that's right. All im saying is, a guy should be the one to pay for a first dinner date he innitiated.

If he told me before we got in and finished eating, that he doesn't have enough on him, or gave me some kind of hint that he'll need me to pick up the bill, Then i'll understand. But otherwise, your ass better be ready to pay them damn bills. I'll pity u and not order too much tho, but be ready to PAY. U asked me out, The first date says alot about a man. Now a man who asks me out and espects me to pay both mine n his bills, sure don't want no relationship.

This isn't about, dating a man for his money. It's just common sense. I didn't ask u to take me on a dinner anyways, u could have just asked me to go bowling or something, somwhere u know u wont have to spend alot.

-----
Now if we are talking about couples going for dinner dates, you know it could go any way. Either the guy or the girls.

I realised that in relationships we have nowadays, the girl in a relationship is actually offering to pay, or even leave money on the table. Just about every lady now is saying "they are independent". They are not just saying it, they are actually showing now that THEY ARE.

Now i don't know the kind of ladies u guys be moving with. But ladies in year 2006, don't go out with you, with the FUll mind that you are going to pay. Don't matter if you are dating or not. They always have their own money. WHo knows what mite happen? U mite turn crazy, and she'll need a cab home. Or worse, u say u lost your wallet on your way here, and you thought it was inside your back pocket. *rollseyes*
