Controversial Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing has weighed in on the marriage crash of her colleague, Chacha Eke Faani.

Kemi Filani news reported hours ago that Chacha Eke had severed ties with her husband, Austin Faani as their marriage crashed.

The actress shocked many as she announced the crash of her 9 years old marriage.

The mother of four made this known on her verified Instagram page where she cited numerous reasons she left, which included abuse.

Narrting why she left her marriage, Chacha Eke said she had to quit while she was still alive than leave as a corpse. She also claimed she didn’t want to die or go inexplicably missing.

Speaking on her separation, Chacha Eke claimed she had released some evidence such as videos, voice notes, and photos to the police force, her lawyers and the media in case things went south.

On the eve of the All Progressives Congress presidential primaries, predictions and projections abounded. Most analyses suggested that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who shamelessly carried out his campaign across the entire country while repeating the phrase “It’s my turn,” had died politically.

Tinubu’s gestures, speeches, and medical records were dissected on national televisions, radio stations, and social media platforms like students dissecting a cadaver for a medical study. The former governor of Lagos was criticised by some for appearing overly desperate, while others claimed he claimed the presidency as his birthright.

This was worsened with the body language of President Muhammadu Buhari. The APC Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, publicly declared Senate President Ahmed Lawan as the choice of the party and this caused another brouhaha, raising suspicion that President Buhari had something under his sleeve.

Prior to Adamu’s announcement, Buhari had solicited the APC Governors’ blessings to allow him choose his successor.

“We gave governors re-election tickets or opportunity to pick their successors; allow me pick my successor,” he said at a meeting.

So it was not a coincidence that Adamu, Buhari’s loyalist, endorsed a candidate, a few days after. Maybe Lawan was Buhari’s preference, maybe not.

But that action pointed to a scheme to out a man who had sacrificed a lot for the party.

The belief that Tinubu’s house was not in order with the revolt of his godson and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, who was also gunning for the same position, also complicated issues. It gave way to the perception that the APC National leader is loathed by outsiders and also despised among his kindred.

But the drama climaxed on D-day. Majority of the aspirants stepped down and publicly canvassed votes for Asiwaju.

It was unprecedented in the political history of Nigeria to have over five political heavyweights bow to one aspirant on the election day.

Never in the history of presidential primaries in Nigeria!

Before the rise of a new day, it was obvious that the cat with nine lives had emerged victorious again.

Tinubu swept 1,271 votes to defeat Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Rotimi Amaechi who scored 235 and 316 respectively. As if to make a mockery of the opposition, the total number of votes his opponents garnered, did not come close to the winning figure.

Of course, Tinubu is no stranger to victory at the polls. Following his stint as a financial management guru, Tinubu, in 1992, delved into politics and contested the Lagos West senatorial seat under the banner of the Social Democratic Party. He won.

Even though the military dictator Sani Abacha dissolved the parliament in 1993, Tinubu’s influence did not wane.

He became an activist campaigning for the return of democracy as a part of the National Democratic Coalition movement and was in the process forced into exile.

He did not return to Nigeria until after Abacha’s 1998 death in 1998, which heralded the transition to democratic rule in 1999.

In 1999, he presented himself for the number one office in Lagos state and won by landslide.

He did it twice. He ruffled feathers with many contenders to serve two terms as Lagos state Governor.

Under his watch, Lagos became the commercial hub envied by other Governors.

Despite the obstruction by the Obasanjo-led government that cut Lagos off from the monthly Federal allocation, the state was doing well in all ramifications. Tinubu, with his cerebral team, laid the foundation of the mega status of the present day Lagos.

Interestingly, fifteen years after he had left office, it’s crystal clear that the seeds of leadership Tinubu planted across different zones have germinated.

His tremendous efforts brought about the Action Congress of Nigeria that later merged to become the All Progressives Congress.

His biggest investment, many say, is building people. He groomed a lot of the political figures around today who are now grown enough to hold structure. This makes it difficult to believe that Tinubu, who has never lost an election, will be trumped by any of the candidates.

It will be against the law of nature, considering the enormity of human and financial resources at his disposal.

A woman has gone on Facebook to show the huge frog she found in her bowl of ice cream.

Tracy Wiemelt Holtman said she bought Blue Bunny ice cream and it was sealed. However, when it was opened, a frozen frog was found just under the cover.

The police in Anambra State have arrested a 30-year-old man who was allegedly caught raping a 75 year old woman in Nkwelle Awkuzu, in Oyi Local government of Anambra State, in the victim’s farmland.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the woman had alerted passersby, by raising alarm, leading to the mobbing of the suspect, who was later rescued by police operatives from lynching.

“Anambra State Operatives collaborating with Security agents at about 4pm on 24/6/2022 rescued from mob action one Sunday Nwadiagba ‘M’ aged 30years for allegedly raping a 75yrs old woman living in Nkwelle Awkuzu.

Preliminary information reveals that the suspect was caught in the act at the farm on the victim, before the old woman screaming, got the attention of the passer-by and neighbors.

Before his arrest, angry mob had already beaten him to stupor, meanwhile the victim and the suspect have been taken to hospital for medical attention.”

He quoted the state Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng as condemning the decision of a mob to attack the suspect.

“They should endeavour to take such suspect to the nearest Police Station whenever they are apprehended. This would afford the Police the opportunity to conduct appropriate investigation into the nefarious activities of the suspects; and bring them to justice in accordance with extant laws,” the commissioner was quoted as advising

Maverick Entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy has waded into the controversy involving former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and wife, Beatrice.

The court denied them bail and adjourned the matter to July 7.

Hoodlums reportedly disrupted collection of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) by people in Ilesa West Local Government Area of Osun State on Thursday.

A source confirmed to DAILY POST that the hoodlums identified to be political thugs came in their numbers to disrupt the collection of PVCs.

The hoodlums were also alleged to have invaded the secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the area.

Confirming the incident, the Osun Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASC II), Olabisi Atanda said the hoodlums ransacked some wards in Ilesa West, which included Ward 1, 3 and 7.

"The hoodlums did not let people obtain Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs). No arrest yet but we are on hunt for the hoodlums.

“There are no casualties as at this time you gave me the call.

“We (the Police and the Civil Defence Corps) are in in a meeting as we speak with the INEC to know how to curb the situation.

“I am not aware there was an attack on the PDP Secretariat in Ilesa West Local Government, they only told me about the PVC, ” she said.

A 16-year-old boy identified as Uzairu Salisu, has had his eyes plucked out by his employer in the Dutsen Jira area of Yelwa area in Bauchi state on Thursday, June 23.

A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakili, says the incident was reported to the police by the village head.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the victim's name is Uzairu Salisu 'M' of kwanan Gulmammu Jahun Quarters. 


The victim stated that One Ibrahim of Rafin Zurfi whom he knows for some time lured him to the Bush for a menial job on his farm, The suspect Ibrahim used a cable wire to strangulate the victim and remove his two eyes.''

Wakili said that the victim is currently in the Abubakar Tafawabalewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi (ATBUTH) receiving medical attention while efforts are being made to arrest the suspect.

Kwara Government on Thursday June 23, confirmed the state's first case of monkeypox.

This was disclosed in a statement released by Dr Raji Razaq, the Commissioner for Health in the North-Central state.

Razaq said the recorded case followed rigorous efforts of the surveillance and response team that it activated since the index case was reported in the country in March 2022.

The statement read;

“The first confirmed case in Kwara state involves a 29-year-old Nigerian driver who developed symptoms of fever, generalised rash, and weakness in the last two weeks and had been under our surveillance.

“There were contacts with the wife and four neighbours with similar symptoms where he lives at Gbugbu in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State. All of which have been resolved by the health team.

“The patient has been on admission in the last one week because of suspicion of monkeypox. He has also been under strict monitoring by the surveillance and clinical team.

“Currently, the patient is improving and stable in the ward.

“The government’s team has similarly begun health facility and community case search/contact tracing.

“The team will also intensify continuous public and community sensitization on the disease and its symptoms for public education and control.

“There is also ongoing training and retraining of health workers to strengthen our response to the development.

“The Ministry of Health is also notifying the appropriate agencies, especially the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, of the development.

“Members of the public are implored to step up efforts at personal and community hygiene as we work together to fight this disease.”

Delta-born politician, Ned Nwoko has shared his thoughts about former Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi’s participation in the forthcoming governorship election under Labour Party’s platform.

The politician who is married to actress Regina Daniels, acknowledged that Peter Obi is not like other Governors he has met in the past as he’s quite frugal and a big-time capitalist.

Nwoko also stated in the interview with BBC Igbo, that he would like Peter Obi to come back to the Peoples Democratic Party as he will do well as a Minister of Economy and will also help the economy bounce back.

The Delta-born politician further averred that though Peter Obi is popular and might have a support base, he doesn’t have the structure to function as he would need the majority in either house of reps or senate, state house of assemblies and government.

He also said that all of these might take at least 8 years to be achieved. Nwoko further claimed there are many things that would work against the emergence of Peter Obi as President of Nigeria and “it would never happen”.

Nwoko also said that Igbos are not ready for presidency as that would have shown during the primaries. He also wondered why delegates never supported Igbo candidates, but went for candidates from other regions.

According to him, Igbos are largely selfish and won’t think about others. Nwoko added that he doesn’t subscribe to zoning, but believes in merit.

The prestigious CAF Awards will hold in Rabat, Morocco in July 2022.

The ceremony, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), will be held ahead of the final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

There will be several categories to be presented including the Player of the Year (Men and Women).

Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala won the awards at the last edition in 2019.

Other categories include; Interclub Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, National Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, Club of the Year and Goal of the Year.

Captains and Coaches of the member associations, selected journalists, CAF technical study group and CAF legends will decide the winner of the different categories.

The period under review is from September 2021 until June 2022.

The previous edition of the CAF Awards was held in 2019 at Hurghada in Egypt.

A foreign speed boat believed to be conveying oil equipment was reportedly attacked Sunday morning near Bakassi waters, controlled by Cameroon forces.

One of the sailors, according to sources, was caught by a flying bullet.

Security personnel who accompanied the boat were said to have abandoned the boat and fled when the attackers opened fire at the boat.

The militants are suspected to be armed loyalists of the Biafra Nations League, BNL which operates mostly around the Bakassi maritime creeks.

The foreign boat was said to be heading towards the maritime border area with Nigeria.

The sources said the incident occurred at Archibong town, Isangele subdivision of Bakassi Peninsula on the side of Cameroon but that the attackers were unable to hijack the boat as intended.

Nigeria and Cameroon are jointly exploring oil at the maritime borders of the Bakassi Peninsula in accordance with the Green Tree Agreements which ceded part of the Peninsula to Cameroon.

Insecurity and pirate attacks have continued to increase in that axis in recent times with Biafra separatists being the major challenge.

Reacting on his Facebook page, the leader of BNL, Princewill Richards said he met with leaders in Bakassi Peninsula and called for collaboration between stakeholders to stem the rising insecurity in the region.

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and his wife, Chief Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, wept at the funeral mass for the victims of the June 5th, terror attack at the Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa, Owo.

The funeral mass was held at the Mydas Resort and Hotel, Owo on Friday, June 17.

Governor Akeredolu, who wept during his speech, said the government failed to protect the victims of the terror attack.

The Governor stressed that the forces on the other side are evil, assuring that they will not triumph forever.

"We have failed to defend these people. Not because we have not tried. But because these forces on the other side are evil and they have supports. They will not triumph over us forever.” he said.


The Governor noted that something must be done in the country, adding that the Security architecture of the nation needs rejigging.


"When I see the sea of heads that are here it speaks volumes. What has happened to us in Owo in Ondo state is indescribable. A lot of words are used to qualify it. Dastardly, horrendous. But I still believe there are words to use to describe it but I still short of those words.


"We have just 22 (deceased) in this hall. A few of them have been buried. Because the relatives couldn’t wait till today. But as at the last count, these animals came to the church and murdered 40 people.” Governor Akeredolu said.

The Bishop of Ondo Catholic Diocese, Dr. Jude Arogundade, however, declared that Akeredolu has not failed in protecting his people.

"You didn’t fail. You are a strong soldier. Your determination to protect those who voted you into power is unquestionable. This was done by cowards. You have tried your best.”Bishop Arogundade said.

Bishop Arogundade wondered why the people of the country need to beg for state police, despite the endless attack and killings.

He thanked the Governor for accepting to designate a memorial park in honour of the victims, stressing that those who created the situation that made the incident happened has bloods on their hands.

Members of the State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. David Bamidele Oleyelogun also attended the service.


Also, Members of the state executive council, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, were present at the funeral mass.

Other dignitaries at the funeral mass included: Former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko; Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Engr. Ade Adetimehin; and Chieftain of the APC , Chief Olusola Oke.

The Sebright is a popular breed of ornamental chickens whose laced plumage makes white specimens look like living, breathing color-by-number drawings.

In the UK, only two variants of the Sebright are officially recognized – gold and silver – both of which have plumage laced with black at the edges. However, it’s the silver variant that’s most visually striking, because of the contrast, which makes the birds look like living color-by-number drawings waiting to be finished.

Popular Nigerian Singer, Davido has stirred reactions from Nigerians on social media after he declared Mayorkun as the biggest artiste.
