If we want to make this country work, every region should be allowed to choose their own leaders under a united country with just one prime minister to represent the country internationally. This will seriously end alot of nonsenses in this country. I have always shouted on top of my lungs for this for anyone who cares to listen. It is the only solution to that decaying country, the political class knows this, but since it reduces their take home packages, they won't do it. |

ojonwamama: chances are that people who do not work for the money within their reach can be more careless in spending money on irrelevancies and betting, than those who work really hard for any penny they earn Well, I know of a guy who works in constructions-roads and buildings here in Germany. This guy would work his *ss off during the week, sometimes, Saturdays too, but he spends his Saturday and Sunday evenings (high paying) in a bet house, and then returns to his hustle on Monday. He earns almost 3k euros monthly, yet, he's always broke and looks for free food around. Not that hard work can't deter, it depends majorly on the level of addiction. |

ojonwamama: Moreso, it is easy to lose free money on betting but very painful to lose a hard earned money on betting. help him get a work, a time consuming work While I agree with you to some extent, I disagree with this point, gambling addiction is no respecter of free or hard earned money, if you are addicted, you are addicted. So except one explore other avenues to curb it, this won't work, because the addict would even sort avenues to escape the hard job. |

Rilwayne001: Most likely there’s an underlying illness. The slippery floor just aggravated it. Not necessarily, bathroom slips comes with so many dangers to internal health...especially when one hits his head or back or even the chest against a hard surface. Most often, people aren't aware of the domestic accident until it is almost too late. Hitting the head could affect the brain or even fracture the skull. Chest fall could affect the spleen Back fall could affect the spinal cord etc Slipping in the bathroom comes with no good |

Builders in the house, how can we have safer bathrooms to avoid occurrences like this. Make use of broken tiles in your bathrooms, they are less slippery and make use of bathtub mats in your tub. |

litaninja: Lagos is just another nigerian state. It didn't fall out of the sky.
The attached picture talks of a plan without a timeline, that's simply a dream. They could implement in a year, or in ten, or never.
How's oando clean energy providing the power? timeline?
Again, if you need to be pinching, squeezing and generation plants for just busses in a country that cannot provide a fraction of the population's electricity demand, you have your priorities skewed.
So, no. Not satisfied sir. OK then, your case is beyond me. |
Travel › Re: Sanwo-Olu Unveils Electric Buses In Lagos (Photos) by humberjade: 5:27pm On May 01, 2023 |
litaninja: Lol. My brother. This thing is not magic. You have no business with electric buses if your grid is not providing 3x the actual demand of power supply the general population needs. It is not everyone that is myopic, and like I mentioned earlier, it is Lagos, not just another Nigerian State. Satisfied now?!

litaninja: The shared the news of the busses because they're available. They didnt share the news of how they'll be powered because they're not available. Nigerian governments don't think that far nor have that kind of foresight.
How long will it take to setup MW capacity plants? Depends, but from planning to completion with the nigerian factor added should take the better part of 1 - 2 years. What would be the power source till then? National grid and the Lagos State IPP. Using both until the solar systems are in place in about "2 years" according to you won't derail the clean energy vision 2065 project. But I can assure you, they have it figured out |
Travel › Re: Sanwo-Olu Unveils Electric Buses In Lagos (Photos) by humberjade: 11:13am On May 01, 2023 |
litaninja: Lol. The ones to charge the busses sir. Abi na the solar setup for your house dem go use? How long will it take a government to set up Solar Panels for this purpose (if that's their proposed major source), that's if it is not already in place. That's Lagos State, I am sure they already have it figured out. |
Travel › Re: Sanwo-Olu Unveils Electric Buses In Lagos (Photos) by humberjade: 9:49am On May 01, 2023 |
litaninja: Not really. All the aforementioned options don't exist at this time. Solar panel systems are not in existence in Nigeria? |

RepoMan007: recharged by petrol engine or renewable options?
Please how much do they cost because buying one item for the cost of eleven is same as buying one and stealing 10 items? I don't understand your questions, but i assume they will be recharged by renewable energy majorly, otherwise, it betrays the main essence of buying them in the first place. Note, I am not a mouthpiece of the government, just a submission made based on my own little exposure and knowledge on how it works. Below is a picture of how charging stations look like, this is in Berlin, Germany.

litaninja: But they're touting it as cleaner for the city. How is it cleaner if you're just running diesel generators instead of diesel bus engines? Lmao Well, I am not a mouthpiece of the Lagos State government, I am sure they have means to power the said buses. Apart from the national grid, Lagos has its IPP, and in addition, solar is another clean way to generate power too. So it doesn't have to be generating plants so as not to defeat the emission control goal. Wind turbines is another means, but i don't think Nigeria has enough wind all year round to power them. So does that address your concern? |
Travel › Re: Sanwo-Olu Unveils Electric Buses In Lagos (Photos) by humberjade: 6:31am On May 01, 2023 |
bobochem: If industrial generator is used as a backup to recharge the buses then the purpose, which zero carbon emissions before 2060-is defeated. Nice one
For your info, these buses would have strategic terminals where they are to be recharged. So it doesn't have anything to do with with the state of electricity in the country, commercial solar systems are good enough to back up the electricity from the national grid and Lagos' IPP.
So no cause for alarm, na maintenance come remain. |
