my brother...this guys are kids...they still have much to learn...we just expect so much from them...reason because the older ones have been failing us....necessarily uzoho ought not to be disturbed for now as he is not yet ripe for the super eagles....

Not like we don't have goal keepers but most are untested and some are "forbidden fruits" even though they are fairer than what we have now.
I really blame alloy agu and yusuf for this...
I think right there in the npfl...there should more better goalies...but they're always ignored...
this notion of "my boy" craving amongst some indigenous coaches is killing our football.....

My goodness, this is quite discouraging! I have only watched two clips but that's enough ... Uzohor is not a world cup caliber team. Making him our starting goalkeeper would be like taking knife to a gun fight, folks shocked

Right now, I think I would be interested in taking a look at Dele. We're definitely in deep shis if we can't sort out this goalkeeping issue before June. Can the NFF even explore the options of convincing some of these goalkeepers, in Euro league, who have zero chance of going to world cup to switch their allegiance?

O pari
how I wish the bolded was possible....
wait...a minute can't the nff get a Nigeria passport for any of those good goalies probably in Germany or Italy who have no chances of featuring for their birth nations @ the world cup to come nautralize and come play for us....

Before a man will marry the second wife, he must have asked her out, dated and maybe have sex with her to taste what he's about to put in the house, so what do we call that if not cheating.

Most men that do this are just lustful and can never be satisfied.
You're right....

Are you saying you don't know there are a lot of 15 -17 years olds currently playing in the NPFL?

Two notable clubs: MFM and Kano Pillars.

I am also sure you know the 15 years old Nur of Elkanemi.

2 years from now, will those boys still not qualify for to play the U20?
okay....
I pray everything turned out good....
it will be better....if players are picked not only from the NPFL also...but also academics, nationwide league and some foreign groomed like maduka and deji....

there should be an open screening .

Golden Eaglets To Hold Domestic & Foreign Training Camp, Screening Starts March 4

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the newly appointed coach of Nigeria's U17 National Team Manu Garba has submitted his program to the Nigeria Football Federation ahead of the 2019 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
If the training schedule is approved by the Nigerian Federation, Manu Garba will begin monitoring the Golden Eaglets invitees on Sunday, March 4.

The former Gombe United helmsman has already drawn up a list of invitees, the bulk of invited players are the youngsters that he has scouted in the last few months and the Nigeria schoolboys (U15s) that traveled to Morocco for friendlies last August.
This means there will be no 'controversial open screening sessions' for now as Garba wants to form a standing team first before inviting new players in future.

Just like it is done in some French speaking African countries, Manu Garba and his lieutenants will hold a get-together in Europe for foreign-based players of Nigerian descent and the outstanding players will be drafted into the team.
Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles will face either Sierra Leone or Guinea-Bissau in the second round of the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The first leg will be played on 11-13 May, while the second leg will take place 18-20 May 2018.

NFF should extend the policy of using non-league players for the u- 17 to the u - 20 or at least saying that they should use 10 league players, 10 non league players and 5 foreign born players. With these they can kill three birds with one stone: reduce the number of age cheats who proliferate the local league who get into the team 2)unearth new talents 3)cap young foreign born players at least at the age grade level.

how possible is it for a player who has featured over 2 years in the league to still be 18 years of age?

Let anybody argue against it from morning till night it won't change the reality that most Nigerian coaches will sell out. Look at that u-20 list. I usually don't make inputs when it comes to the ages of Nigeria players cos it's like entering into a forest to look for pin. Why for godsakes should Eneji who played at the last Chan be in the u- 20? Apart from the age issue it's not just correct abeg. The coach doesn't seem to know the purpose of age grade competitions.
to be honest wit you...that coach will not claim to be so daft...not to know how some of guys lies about their age...

and moreover laziness and greed (what they make from this guys possible transfer to Europe ) will never allow them scout for better players....

just imagine that young goalie we watched his tape the other day...plying his trade in Brazil, or young Deji in Germany and kehinde tosin etc will never get invited...only for us to start battling for their nationality when they have been capped at age grade competitions by their birth nations...

what stops us from doing it now...at least give like 5 good foreign groomed call ups...scout for young, good and hungry players all over reputable academics in nigeria...then you're good to go.

so they should be respected.
don't be surpised they just won the under 17 & 20 world cup...and that is no easy feet.

The U20 is not for academy players. You scout the academies for the U17.
oga icon....so you support these under 20 coach over age list...?
look through the npfl and tell...me how many true under 20 age players can you find?...and here a coach made a list where you've players that have been playing in the npfl for the past 3 years and you see honesty in that...
ndidi left all the way from academics and today the rest is history, likewise nancho and co.

most young and hungry talented players can better be found in academics...I am telling you the truth....I still remember how manu garba under 20 team took the bunch of npfl best to the cleaners during the super 6 tourney...

let him not restrict his invitation to the npfl...but also to the nationwide league and academics......

the essence of this tourney is not just to win the under 20 world cup but.also to groom players for the future to take over from the ones we currently have....if this reason is jeopardized I fear...that years to come we will never stop seeking and longing for foreign groomed players to come play for us.....

My man mentioning name of a player by Rohr in an interview doesn't mean the player is on his way to Russia.

It's left for Echiejele to prove himself like wise Aina,Idowu,Ebuhei and Shehu,so let's wait for the friendlies.
I trust your words.....if it is to be on merit a player plying his trade in Belgian division 2 have no business in the super eagles team...

but probably as a reward for his previous years of stewardship he gets invited....but he should not make the final cut on same sentiments.

I tell you same way Nigeria could not wreck south Africa the last time in uyo....and have failed to qualify for 2 successive afcon.

if you really look through that team...I mean the English team..you will agree wit me that the talent is there, the players are well above average...they just need a little better management to attain the best...

I think Southgate have done well since he became the coach...

he has been working with the trainers even before Uzoho was called up, but he makes the same mistake regularly. Doesn't sound very coachable, plus, it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but very easy to train a puppy.

Plus, I still think, Rohr prefers Uzoho because he has everything he looks out for in a goalie- imposing Physique, Confidence, Awareness, Authority.

Ezenwa and Akpeyi lack in at least one of those requirements.
he is like someone who never learn from his mistakes...I remember enyeama's wife make mention of how her hubby re-watch and study his past matches just to see his errors and correct them in subsequent matches....

in every field of human endeavours excellence never come cheap...you arrive for it and go extra mile...

he keep making same mistakes...he did same during the Chan tourney...rushing out...in fact we were so lucky not playing a team like Argentina where a skillful player can chop ball over his head to get a goal...

I even heard him say sometime ago....he hired a personal trainer...I guess he can learn from there...if he truly wanna improve.

Rohr is obsessed with young players. It was that defeat to South Africa that tamed him. So I doubt if he'd look Aiyenugba's way
i think it is because of his experience of the problem posed by age cheating prevalent in Africa....
