I actually fear a Serbia than I fear an England
hmmmm...who do they have there?
England wit players like alli,Kane, vardy, rashford etc should be feared....
these players well managed can wreck any team....

90 mins against Serbia for consistency sake. That was my point. Of course I don’t expect he will do badly against Serbia.
I got your point....
though mine a bit contrary....
I will want someone else to man the post against Serbia while uzoho be called up again.....when we play England...and Czech..
reason because I expect Poland and England to try us more than the rest teams...

both team have in their ranks quality strikers to give him a trial and as well build his confidence.

Actually it's getting to the point where potential is much better than established old mediocrity.

I want to hope that we at least have one good quality goal keeper playing first team football at a decent level.

I am sorry to say I do not know any one. The last one I knew was playing for Burnley fc U23 and was facing the normal black man issues we experience here.

So he felt he wasn't going to get opportunities.

Otherwise I dint know.
so unfortunate to read about the Burnley under 23 goal keeper....still don't understand why we still don't have a black skinned goal keeper in the epl and championship....may be you can throw more light into this...I will appreciate.
anyway that's a story for another day...

from your comments it is very obvious uzoho is the best chioce we have...I still believe the black skin problem is likewise telling on his devt in Spain...because from all indices had it been he was a Spanish or a Latino he would have been playing for this first team by now...

black goal keepers don't have it easy in European leagues except in the French League....many clubs rarely give them that opportunity....

so I think uzoho is not a bad gamble...for a player to have kept such number of clean sheet in the reserve team is no child's play...that league I will see to be more organized than the npfl...

I think...the problem wit ezenwa is so much...something we can't work with prior the World cup....uzoho should be trusted and allowed to man the post if he proves better during the friendlies...if not...leaving our world cup goal keeping role in the hands of akpeyi and ezenwa gonna be too risky....

Are you saying haven't had countless of superb performances from Echiejile in his sojourn with the SE? I believe you're not among the sigh sighted and short memory type of Nigerians out there. If it's by 45 mins, then no player in the SE color is bad.
brother we are no longer living on the past.
you will agree wit me...that during the qualifiers elderson was our weakest link in the defense....then he was even in Turkey...though from some of his club highlights posted here...he played below par most times..
why can't we fix it...fix this defensive problem by putting round peg in round hole...

presently you can't compare a player like Aina and elderson....forget this experience talk...his so called experience will keep him glued to the bench had it been he was in the English championship......

I am not sayn he should be dropped indescrimately but presently those guys- Aina and ebuehi all proved better at the moment

I want to see Uzoho for 90 mins against Poland and if he does well, another 90 mins against Serbia, and if he performs well again, Rohr should just use that keeper trainer gum am, because we will be grooming him for the #1 spot.
a good 90 mins against Poland should be enough to seal his place as super eagles No.1.

one thing we still haven't understand about ezenwa is that...he always rush out from his line....and there by leaving space for a talented player to chip the ball off his head...he did this severally in this last Chan

you know he is not that tall but him always rushing out may gift a player like messi 5 goals in a match...

Looolll.... Superb performances.... Look, if Echiejile have had any sort of "superb" performances in recent times, we won't even be having this discussion... wink

What he had had are decent performances of late. Judging his performance as a stand alone, you will hardly find "superb" as a label for Echiejile's performances. Let us be honest abeg. As for Echiejile's place on that plane to Russia, I recall also being among the few who said that Rohr will likely take him to Russia as long he plays and also based on his experience and his being part of the team's WC campaign through out as the team's no.1 LB.

And Idowu's 45 mins as well as Ebuehi's 45 mins all against Argentina were truly top notch. This was Argentina. Rohr's biggest opponent/test since he took over. And the players he selected for that game that passed in flying colors cannot be ignored. THEY HELD THEIR OWN AGAINST A WORLD CLASS TEAM NOT BASED ON "NAME" ALONE BUT ALSO BASED ON THE PLAYERS PARADED THAT DAY BY ARGENTINA. One cannot look past that so easily. Even Rohr cannot which is why he mentions once that Idowu will not just be an interpreter for the team in Russia. Or you never heard him say that, since you are the one with long-term memory... Lol
with the bolded...meaning Aina is likely going to give way for Elderson...?
I really don't fancy this move...

TheSuperNerd:
Call it yank off if it makes you feel better but all I did was to give you the context under which Rohr mentions Echiejile. You don't expect Rohr to dispose of Echiejile who featured in all important games of the WC Qualifiers and who has been Rohr's no.1 LB since he took over.... It won't happen. And herein lies our dilemma, Echiejile is not the force he once was and he was never even spectacular as our LB but he was decent. But now even his decency has dropped. But as long as he plays, he will make the team to Russia based on one solid parameter.... "Experience" backed up by his contributions during the WC qualifiers.

But we all know that if we go by quality alone.... He stands no chance against Idowu and Aina.

In Mikel's role, who challenges his quality? Who?

In Victor Moses' nko?? Who naa?

But in Echiejile... His quality is called into question in the presence of Idowu and Aina without question. Finito.

But in all... He will be in Russia unless injury stops him (God forbid).... **And I kinda feel some hands smack me from behind for saying God Forbid...** grin wink
to think that one of Aina/Idowu will be sacrificed for his inclusion leaves me worried....
I will really want Aina to make this team same wit ebuehi both players are promising same wit shehu he has never disappoint

Ola Aina Names His Favourite Position And It's Not Right-Back

In a recent interview with the
official website of Chelsea, Nigeria international Ola Aina has listed the positions he has been playing for Hull City and explained why he has thrived at left-back.
When Aina joined Chelsea Academy at U11 level, he was a right winger with an eye for goal before he was moved back to the right back position and can also be deployed as a central defender.

In eight of his last ten matches for Hull City in the Championship, the defender operated at left-back, the same position he was fielded in Nigeria's matches against Zambia, Argentina and Algeria.
''At the beginning of the season I was playing right-back, obviously a position I am used to,'' Ola Aina stated.

''In the second half of the season I have been playing predominantly at left-back.
''I have probably enjoyed it there a bit more funnily enough, because I can drive on the inside or go down the outside and create more chances.''
The London-born Aina could not face Chelsea in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup on Friday, and the Tigers lost 4-0 without him in the line-up.

Uzoho Set To Beat Enyeama's World Cup Record, Keeps 11th Clean Sheet In 15 Games

Deportivo de La Coruña goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is set to earn a spot in Nigeria's World Cup going by his form for Depor Fabril in the Segunda División B - Grupo I.
The former Golden Eaglets invitee won plaudits from the fans following his performance on his debut against the Argentinian national team last November, keeping the strikers at bay as Nigeria came from behind to beat the two-time world champions 4-2.
Despite the fact Uzoho is only 19 years, he is expected to be a key figure for the Super Eagles at the World Cup as he is expected to be the number one goalkeeper, provided that Vincent Enyeama does not return to the squad.

The teenager has taken part in 15 matches for Deportivo de La Coruña across all levels - 2 in La Liga and 13 in the third-tier - and has posted an impressive 11 shutouts, including Saturday's clash vs Ponferradina.
Only eight players Portu, Aday, álex Arias, David Añón, Randy Nteka, Juanma, Luismi Quezada and Cristo González have managed to score against Uzoho in the current season.

He kept a clean sheet against Eibar, Real Madrid Castilla, R. Majadahonda, Valladolid B, CD Guijuelo, Atl. Madrid B , Celta Vigo B, CD Toledo, UD Sanse, R. Majadahonda and Ponferradina.

Vincent Enyeama is the youngest goalkeeper to play for Nigeria at the World Cup, he was aged 19 years, nine months and 14 days when he started against England on June 12, 2002.
Uzoho would beat that record if he is named in the starting line-up against Croatia on June 16.

He had issues with fortuna not with the league board or other clubs in the league so please how are some of your questions relevant here?

It's not the league board or other clubs that are raising dust, it's the club.

My question remains: since he's a bad manager and treats people badly, who was he using to get the results he got while at them helm?

Let's think deeper and stop allowing our sentiments becloud our judgement.

I haven't said in all my comments that he's a saint, only saying some other what are being peddled aren't the true reason for sacking him. They are only using some of his past incidence to Nick him in the mud IMHO.

If an independent body or an expert investigative journalist get on this case, you'd be surprised at what they will unearth.

Now that he's no longer there, how come they are back to where they belong, losing games home and away?

but he ruined it...... it takes character to keep a job....not necessarily competence.
