NFF gives Falcons coach, Aigbogun July 31 to submit world cup report

By Andrew Abah, Abuja on June 29, 2019
Super Falcons head coach Thomas
Dennerby and his Flying Eagles counterpart Paul Aigbogun have been directed by the Nigeria Football Federation to make their world cup reports available to the secretariat on or before end of July 2019 as the Technical Committee is set to meet the first week of August 2019.

According to Coach Bewarang, NFF head of Technical Department, the directive became necessary as the Technical Committee is to review the performance of the nation’s football teams that participated in both CAF and FIFA competitions this year.

Also, Sportinglife.ng learnt that Paul Aigbogun who led the country’s national U20 team to FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland and managed to reach the knockout stage after emerging as one of the best losers is yet to make his
report available to the glasshouse.
“The Federation needs to review the outing of its national teams especially the concluded competitions like super Falcons, Flying Eagles, Future Eagles and other age group teams including those preparing for competitions later in the year. Like you know the flying eagles and super falcons got to the knockout stage by luck and we need
to review the outing and recommend ways to do better in the future.” Said Bewarang.

The former Plateau Utd Football Club Boss revealed that the Female National U20 team (Falconets) just called to camp for the All Africa Games will be closely monitored as the target is to win a medal at the games.

Chwukwueze reveals the Super Eagles teammate helping him improve

goal.com Jun 28, 2019 2:54 PM

The Villarreal youngster admits he looks up to the Super Eagles captain and counts his current team-mate as one of his idols

Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze has revealed why he regards Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel as a "role model".

The highly-rated forward enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2019, as he sealed his place in Villarreal’s first team and also made the country's Africa Cup of Nations squad.

The 20-year-old, who has been compared to Arjen Robben due to his dribbling skills, made his Afcon debut against Burundi before making a cameo appearance against Guinea after replacing Alex Iwobi.

He could not be in better company, though, with the youngster admitting that he considers former Chelsea star Mikel to be ideal role model.

“All the players have been good to me but the one who stands out is [John Obi] Mikel,” Chuwkwueze told Goal.

“He always tells me to always be focused and concentrate on my game because I’m still growing up. To him, hard work is the easiest way to greatness.”

Obi Mikel, Chuwukwueze, Osimhen
If Chukwueze gets close to achieving what Mikel has done in his career then he will undoubtedly have fulfilled the potential he is showing at present.

However, the less-pressured lad is still savouring his achievement of making his Afcon bow, while revealing his Egypt ambition with the three-time Africa champions.

“Playing in the Africa Cup of Nations is huge for me and a dream come true. I’ve been hoping to play in this competition as a kid and I’m so happy it’s coming at this time,” he continued.

“The technical crew has been kind to me too. They keep encouraging me to do more and better because they believe in my ability.

“There is no pressure at all because I play week in week out for my club before a huge crowd, so playing among the big boys is what I am used to.

“We have everything to win the trophy and with luck on our side, we will achieve that with everyone playing his own part.”

Gernot Rohr’s men are through to the Round of 16 with a game to spare. They face Madagascar in their last Group B encounter with the Super Eagles chasing their 47th win in the history of the competition.

Lol

I even think tunisia is a better team than them
Tunisia last march was scrab
no thanks to their goal keeper....

I am happy that they're not a strong side...
hopefully we get to avoid Egypt until the finals...then anything can happen.

I am just praying for Rohr to get his first 11 right...then we are good to go....

Tunisia 1 - 1 Mali
Tunisia converts a free kick.

Anyhow, they can still find a decent club.
let's be hopeful...
for me bashiru have what it takes and likewise Kinglsey Micheal
both can pass very well and can shot from the outside the 18 yard box
don't know about their defensive game though

It was against Guinea. Not Burundi. Remember Ighalo and Musa didn't start against Burundi.

And I rate Ighalo above some really bang average strikers at this Afcon but I innately believe that once Osimhen gets his chance on this stage and seizes it too with aplomb... Aha! That will mark the end of Ighalo as our #9.

Osimhen has what it takes to be our top super striker for years with competition to come from others like Awoniyi, Odey, Iheanacho (who I see being used as a #8 going forward for the team on his return because displacing Osimhen will be hellishly difficult. Osimhen seems a better fit in our rising golden generation starting #9 role than an on-fire Iheanacho) and a couple others like Onuachu, Okereke David (who is indeed Aubameyang-like in style of play and can play SS), et al....
spot on bro....
Onauwu is not the kind of striker that can Ighalo a run for his money his positioning is bad

then he never played for almost a full season for his club according to him
the bench resort to that decision because he honored the invitation against RSA

And to show you how matured Musa is, Musa went on one fine run beating Two or three Guinean players down the left flank in the second half freeing him up into space and instead of continuing his beautiful run towards the Senegal box 18, he sighted Ighalo in the box and tried to square for him only to be cut off for a corner.

Had Musa gone on his run, he would have reached the box and possibly scored. He is that fast but he decided to pass to a better positioned teammate in Ighalo not minding that this same Ighalo had ignored him in similar circumstances in the first half.

That was matured class from Musa and I told Yara Yara to note it down very keenly. Musa is our best forward and thinks for the good of the team even more now than before.
exactly...against Burundi though.

I really fear for Ighalo should Oshimen get to start against Madagascar and he score goals and assist...forget it.
he may become Rohr's favourite...
if Rohr can bench mikel and troost he can bench anyone..
the man wanna win afcon too

With Tijani and some other players, yes! he wasted our chances but with Okon, Bashiru, Ofoborh, Makanjuola and Michael, I don't think so.
I pray those players come good...
but you know that tourney would have go elevate their status as such help them get good signings and opportunities to play at top club level...
but now...they will have to struggle and pass through some difficult routes...
I wish them well...

a good outing would have helped Bashiru get into Atalanta first team fast...

That reminds me. I was actually surprised by Simon's deliveries throughout the game. I didn't think he could cross that well. He delivered all the kicks excellently. I'm almost driven to thank La Liga once again for another improved player. Excellent deliveries!
he can play free kicks very well...
I remember his play against Swaziland one time....
I was so sure he would have scored that one etebo played instead.....

To be sincere i have always supported ighalo but he made me angry that day, he was so selfish and didnt pass to musa, as in i was so angry, i dont know whats wrong with him

Ighalo was the worst eagles player that day.
it is well...I was so happy for the criticism he received.hope he gets to see them... that will make him adjust next time...

because with such error in the knock out stages...the team can be punished for that.

It is true Simon could have been much better offensively but he also was not poor offensively. He was a bit above average offensively and was excellent defensively. That for me is a very very balanced performance that can only be improved upon.

Simon wasn't getting it right in his corner kick deliveries too at some point as they were being hit too low. He knew this and he stepped up and hit a fine one in that found Ndidi one time even before he delivered the one that led to the goal.

In all, Simon was good. Balanced both offensively and defensively.
it's okay Nerdy.

you wrote well....
it has all passed I wish for a better outing against Madagascar....
hopefully Rohr gets his first 11 after the round of 16 match to make room for blending and a strong force...the players that get to play that match will play the Qfinals as well

Na lie. Chukwueze, Onyekuru, Osimhen, Odey, Awoniyi, etc are all part of the future of the national team.

Do you you even know how many are springing up left right center?

Of course, we still need the foreign born.
Aigbogun wasted our chances....
I just can't see Tijani playing for the super eagles in the future...
I pray we get good CM and AMs to compliment this team

okay bro no yawa

anyway no mind me
the player that even made me angry that day...was Ighalo....
had it been he passed that ball to musa for a goal ..we would had 2 more... that would have made the Guineans to troop out and such allow Iwobi to give more defensive split passes that even him (ighalo) will benefit from...
but selfishness will not let him see road...just pray they don't go repeat this when start playing men in the Qfinals

Sorry sir, if that was offensive.

The purpose of a winger is to create chance or score goals.

Now back to my questions, how many chances did Chukwueze create? How many did Simon create?

Please, give instances. Thanks
it's okay...but he has more shots in targets...
but chuks needs right now is good coaching...

just tell him to always pass the ball especially when on the 18yard box after beating defenders pass the ball to strikers or other players free to do a finish up.

that ability to make mess out of defenders is an asset coupled with his ball control skills...

and can as well supports ndidi defensively and good with short passes...that will help iwobi greatly if he plays 10

How many chances did Simon Moses create?
I don't want us to generate this thing to insults....pls.

he beats defenders severally by exploring the gaps...
I wanna watch his play with muse on the other flanks and mikel on the Cm role and Iwobi playing 10/8

I understand where u coming from and I have never been a fan of Simon. People say he helps the defense but, is that his primary assignment as a winger? A winger that can not contribute nothing going forward, that one na winger? Simon, to me, is what I would term a poor man's Pius Ikedia, dude is all strength and no brains and he can hardly raise his head up to save his life. Abeg that boy na -1

sorry I mean Samuel Kalu the Bordeaux guy.

inasmuch as I don't support the nff authorities in regards to how they handle bonus issues, it's also high time our players decide whether they want to continue to play for the Nation or not cos the bonus issues will continue to be there as it was from the beginning.

I once read an interview by a former player, Reuben Agboola who said one of the major reasons he stopped honouring invitations from the SE was because of backlog of unpaid bonuses but you know what, he went ahead to say he regretted making that decision as he missed opportunities to play at the world cup and other big games for the SE.

Our players need to see the big picture at times, though it's hard but it's equally embarrassing with all theses bonus palaver. Just decide you want to be in the national team or just leave if you can't stomach unpaid bonuses.
you're spot on.
this guys make more than these bonuses they keep crying over with just their weekly wage abroad...

not taking side with the NFF though... but come to understand that playing for the country presently is sacrifice and also help elevate their careers in club football and endorsements that should come first.
