In actual sense, alot of them do not usually return. Mindlog: Conference visa?....The visa officer believes you are high risk and not likely to return back to Nigeria.
What gave you the confidence of getting the visa when applying for the visa? Who knows if they have history of Nigerians who have go through that route of "practical" and have overstayed their visas. The embassy reads all the forums and online platforms, they understand all the whole things that go around. As we have read and seen, conference visas are easiest ways to enter abroad, but stats has shown an increase in cases of illegal migration through it, thus making embassies to disbelieve . |

Africankel: Absolutely! Account na just one part of the process. Social, family and economic ties are another critical angles they look at.
You can have all the money, if you don't have a strong reason that'll bring you back to Nigeria, you no go get the visa. Na wetin I dey talk gan gan be that. And that is the mistake alot of these folks make. Work on your documentation. Your manager or business partner can even give you a reference letter or a note of recommendation. All these are support documents embassies don't joke with. Your car documents, proof of rental payments or agreement for properties owned. Family ties, a major project you embarked on, news paper publications, something that portrays you as a noteworthy person. I don't mean forged documents, documents that can be verified if need arises. Prove yourself to them that you will not abscond. Give them sufficient evidence. Wish everyone the best sha. |

Africankel: Yes, we spoke about it in South Africa visa section. Which is exactly why I said "Schengen no dey operate like those our other people", I was referring to SA in the statement. I'd gotten a visa from SA with 120k balance. Two visas from Morocco with less than ₦1 million.
However, around 2013, I was denied a visa to France with a balance of about 800k. The refusal note was "insufficient form of subsistence". Does this not tell you account balance is important? Also consider the exchange rate as at 2013, for a 10-day trip.
First issued Schengen visa was Germany (2014), with a closing balance of ₦3m. After then, I'd gotten from Italy and France with lesser balance of a little over ₦2m.
UK in 2021 denied me a 6 months visa (I didn't have enough money to apply for 5 years). Prior to this application, I had been issued a 6 and 2 years visa. Reason for denial? I didn't have enough money to fall back to after my trip.
If you remember, in Canada visa section I shared how I was denied. There was over ₦12m closing balance over a period of four months, and the only deposits were my salary. Reason for denial was that they acknowledged I had sufficient funds, but couldn't ascertain the origin of these funds. I reapplied with the same documents (same account statement generated over 3 months ago) and drew their attention to the fact that all deposits where salary payments which was clearly written on my account statement. Visa was approved.
For Japan, I studied their visa code handbook, and a particular sentence caught my attention, "a visa will be granted to a person who is not a pauper". This should mean something.
So, account balance is important. File for the boss of all bosses. 🙌 With this your travel history, na Yankee remain o 🇺🇸 Above all, I said pray for Grace. You see ehn, there's that connection at some point , because I tell people, it is when you give up, then the blessings stops. Visa's are determined by humans. May we see favor in eyes of these Vo's. I prolly share a story here some day, I am not ready for it. But I really want to encourage alot of people , whilst you are working on your accounts, also get your documents right then hope for the best. All these connections together, can bring about a positive results. |

Africankel: Lol Ayo, Schengen no dey operate like those our other people. Account balance is important.
Article 21, No. 6.6.2 of the Schengen visa code handbook (the only authorised material used by Schengen visa officers) states that "The consulate should estimate both the amount of sufficient financial means necessary for the stay and the reliability of the FINANCIAL RESOURCES presented. (emphasis mine). The reliability of the means of subsistence presented should always be accessed according to the local contexts"
"The consulate should request financial resources ABOVE that estimate when the purpose of travel is luxury tourism... (Emphasis in original)."
"If the applicant covers the expenses of the journey himself, HE SHOULD PRESENT PROOF OF POSSESSING PERSONALLY THE REQUIRED RESOURCES (emphasis mine), eg, by salary slips, bank statements. The consulate may check the reliability and stability of the amounts credited to a bank statement in case of doubt". Kel, my previous visas. I had a very low balance in my account not even in hundreds of thousands. You and I spoke about these things in the South African visa section Whilst I acknowledge account balance as key, it doesn't end up being the determinant for visa success. Pray for Grace abeg, Maybe for Study visa , work , Yes. But you see all those tourist visas brother, na documents. Over time, I had emphasised the need to always put documents together and get their applications right. These things matter alongside building a clean travel history. Many people with the millions end up getting rejections, we have seen many instances here. I wish everyone the best. |

Those of us that had multiple visas without one kobo in the account dont even know what God did for us I laugh when i hear of account balance this and that. For schengen, especially, documentations is key to note first, before your balance. Take note! |

Hi, Use Blabla Car or FlixBus if you want to explore schengen countries. France and Spain share borders. You can also navigate Portugal from Spain. Eitherways, Flixbus or Blablacar are best options. GodGraceOnly: Please For those in France, which countries are basically closest to it as I’m planning my trip and wishes to explore other Schengen countries via train as I did when I traveled to some UK countries.
Though id land in London first before flying to France from Ireland or Cardiff wales. I need stamps in my visas as my 2years UK visa is still virgin. I was supposed to travel last month October but didn’t because I wanted to explore France reason I had to put up France visa and I also got that. thanks to God. And it’s cheaper flying via London.
I’m actually doing my research via schengen map and I’m seeing Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and, Luxembourg but I believe those that reside there or have been there know best so that I’d plan my itinerary well.
I have my Visa already but planning how to spend my days and hotel and train booking.
Thanks. Please Nearest Schengen countries to Paris. From Uk, you can also enter France via Flixbus or Vueling Airlines. If you are more bothered about stamps, be informed to use Air to fly. Flights are relatively less around these regions. You can check with expedia Do not also forget that schengen regions operates open borders. If you need to use Flixbus from CDG, you can get it through Bercy . So , Plan your trip well and i wish you a wonderful tour. |

Opeyemi007: You have a weird feeling cos of a passport photograph? Even if you fought the lady that took your biometrics, she doesn’t play any part in your approval or refusal process. You’ll get it if you qualify. Take it easy. Only one passport photograph is required. |
Travel › Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by hunee: 9:41am On Nov 06, 2024 |
AKAyomide: I submitted my France Schengen visa application yesterday and deep down in my mind I met all the requirements but I didn’t have a passport photograph along to the center. I was charged for that and I snapped a picture but on the point of submitting the passport photograph, only one was accepted from me by the woman who attended to me at the biometric room. Immediately after the situation, I knew deep down that the visa application would be rejected or have a visa refused despite the fact I called the call center to explain things to them and was given the hope that if the application needed additional documentation I would be emailed. For people who are going to submit their applications, kindly have it in the back of your mind that you need to do proper research and stand on what you have researched to avoid being led off by the agent at the submission center! Interesting. |

I think this depends on the attendant. It is not a big deal, but if you look at the checklist, they request for 3 month , not 6 months. Greatnewsalways: I don’t appreciate your tone. Just because your experience was different doesn’t make mine any less valid. Why would I have any reason to make things up? I was clear about my timeline, and I submitted the documents exactly as stated. The staff member (a lady) that attended to me on that day accepted ALL of them. Is it that hard to understand? Policies do change over time, you know. All the best guys, this shoud not cause disagreement amongst both of you. @Greatnewsalways @GodGraceOnly |
