As far back as 2001-2002
My dad was using Nokia that had a game called Space impact
And my mum had a Phillip blue face phone..
My Uncle was using one of the Sagem My-x series...
Around 2004-2006 I used a Visafone phone and there was a useless line then called mtel
And we reacharged our mobile with Scratch card, I repeat scratch card,
Just because you don't know something does not mean it does not exist, You are just living in a different World Lmao MTel 080450- number I remember am die. I can't even remember what happened to them |

light099: You're now talking the truth. You didn't even buy it for yourself, yet you come here claiming SIM cards and phones were very affordable and common in 2001, just because you were lucky to get them free from someone. Please make research to know how much those phones and SIM cost that time. Some people bought SIM over 40k. And 40k isn't joke that time, those were periods they were selling measure of garri around N15 or thereabout. Even 40K isn't beans as at now, how much more that time.
Brother, buying phone and SIM card no be child play those years. Anyway, I commend your honesty. E no worth am to dey argue about this thing Make all man just dey |

light099: You're still saying same thing I said about internet. Yahoo messenger was the popular thing on internet then. And boys do night browsing in cybercafes. Nothing like modem or browsing phones. Most people don't even own or know laptops as desktop computer was the common thing that time with windows 98 or so.
Pls show us the receipt for phone and sim card you bought in 2001 as you claimed. My Mom's sister gave that particular siemens to me. Sim card, cant even remember how i got it. I will look for the box tomorrow for sure |

light099: You just want talk for the sake of it. Let me school you a bit. Nokia phones plenty 2001? Let's say around 2002, only few big Nigerians were able to afford the Nokia blueface and the likes, while the money of SIM card alone was enough to feed the whole family of an average Nigerian. Phones/SIM became affordable for everyone around 2003/2004/2005. 2005 upwards was the time most average students were able to get phones. What about school fees scratch cards in 2001? Were there scratch cards in 2001? Do schools even have websites then? That was the time internet was still very young, with only yahoo messenger popular then. Internet was dry AF then. Some people just like dragging what they can't argue, You just dey make noise. I used Siemens a50 when it came out in 2002 and i wasn't any big man. The box still dey my room till today with the manuals. Other 'cheap' phones were around in 2001. Before that i used one yeye blue screen phone that was on life support Again ill correct you, we used to order for Yankee and UK school catalogues back in 2001 Infact i rmbr all the phones i used after that period, Nokia 3250, Sony Ericsson p910i and the likes In 2005, phones like sendo x, sagem myx 6 and 7 and Samsung d500 series were already common and that's probably the time you know well Yahoo messenger became common around 2002 when boys used to use what they called Gene to order goods online, particularly PhatFarm and FuBu I have seen it all, nothing wey u fit tell me around that era |

light099: I don't think OP is the owner of this story. Or he tried mixing his real story with lots of lies. There are lots of contradictions and lies. From his write up, one could infer that he likely got admitted to uni around 1999 - 2001 and was initiated around one of these years. But the way he kept mentioning 'phones', 'calling his friends with phone', 'ayee guys collecting his school fees scratch card' etc. My question to OP is, where did he see mobile phones and scratch card in 1999 to 2001? Except for the indomie generation who might be young or not yet born that time, we know there's nothing like phones that time, same thing with internet, so why was he mentioning phones and scratch card? I can keep picking out things and contradictions in his story. Siemens a series ,samsung bluescreen/yellow screen, and Nokia phones plenty around 2001 Them fit collect am for in person too |

benzion72: If you dont get a University degree in Nigeria, no matter how rich you are, there is still a part of you that will be haunted with inferiority complex. Ask Chief Olusegun Obasanjo an Army engineer who still went back to the National open University to get a degree in Bible and read up till Phd True in a way |
Education › Re: How Useful Is/was Your Bachelor's Degree? by hustla(m): 12:15pm On Apr 16, 2020 |
dukeprince50: People put too much emphasis and almost all their faith in a degree.
University degree is just like a foundation to greater heights, nothing else. If u don't want to push wheelbarrow, become a gas attendant or a conductor for a start then get a degree.
Wise people use their degree to secure a Job, save substantial amount then start a business and when the business is big enough to feed them and their family, they resign from their Job. The money u get from a Job can't make u live, it can only help u survive. Salary as a whole is like a bribe u take so u can forget ur dreams.
My advice to u is this, get ur certificate, use it to start a life but don't depend on it. Modified Don't depend only on ur cert in d next 10yrs, have more streams of income Perspire to aspire spotted If na business everyone go do, if u come get emergency how u go see doctor for General hospital wey go attend to u? Una no dey rest |
