Oyindidi: Why allow your father to decide for you? You are matured enough to take decisions like this.
A lady sold her house and other properties and travelled to to Canada few years ago. She's back in Nigeria broke. I'm not saying that will be your case. Lol a lady, a friends friend, my brothers uncles friend Blah blah Na lie It's people who traveled with no plan that things like that happen to, people like that just 'want to go and Hustle' and they end up disappointed. Others sit down and plan long term, for say 2 years before even traveling, weighing their options, plus the pros and cons |

TD4real: Dear nairalanders, plz i need advice from experienced minds. I am 28 years old and have been workin in a Bank for three years ( i am fairly confortable ). But i have been under pressure by my dad to advance my studies abroad.
The issue here is that it feels i will be starting life all over again, after the MSC then what ? Come back ? Job search again?? I also have a girl friend i have been committed to and we both have been planning to settle down next yr.
I am so confused and i cant plan my future any longer. Some people have adviced that living abroad is always better than nigeria while others have said , if you are ok here why move.
Plz career experts and experinced ones should plz advice me putting into consideration my relationship commitments too. Lol better carry your ass to Canada and don't come back The bank can decide to sack you tmr and nothng will happen.. Talk to your gf, leaving for Canada doesn't mean you won't come back and it doesn't mean you'll die there. That same gf will dump you without thinking twice if you get sacked and become broke If you plan it well, you'll get your residency provided you studied a make sense course for MSc and she can later join you, a win win situation for both of you Visit the Canada thread and you'll learn a lot from people who are already there or intending to leave Leave naija if you can, for your kids at least, you can still come back to naija after getting your citizenship |

santity100: LOL. Reliable source, you mean one of the case officers in Pretoria ? That might false because everyone knows they will verify your documents to the least.
Simple reason for the delay is because of flooding of applications for study visa during this period. I have never seen so many people apply for Australia visa before.
Lots of Nigerians got study visas late last year and this February, this has encourage lots of applicants to submit more especially those that have been refused by Canada in the past.
Most Nigerians that got the visa during that period didn't go to the schools and most just transferred to other schools.
The pretoria office also process study visas for Nigerians and west africans living in diaspora
More Nigerians are desperate to travel abroad recently and most are seeking study route.
The same office also process study visa for other applicants from other countries, so it's a lot of work and it will take grace and quality of applications to get grants this July 2017
Bad news is that lots of applications will be denied this July 2017 and it has started happening. There are lots of reasons to refuse a study visa and the flooding by applicants won't help genuine applicants.
I will advise applicants to apply for a course that is related to their education and experience.
The purpose of study visa is for you to go and study and not PR. If you want PR, there are lots of options in skill select.
These case officers are south Africans, they are smart and they know us, you can't have a background in economics or cooking and you submitting visa application for bsc nursing.
Most people want PR, but don't tailor your study visa applications towards that line.
At least keep your intentions for PR untill you get your visa.
All the best. Nawa o Australia wey person think say man fit enter lowkey without stress, Nigerians don wan spoil am like Canada and Yankee Which way sef? |

JewelStone: Please don't have a child with someone you don't love, the Aussie is trying to trap you into some real trouble. Child support here can make you go crazy, and you can't escape it. Not worth it, and having a baby won't give you PR. Even if you get married to an Aussie, you still need to wait a few years before you get PR, and intl student fees still applies until you get PR, unless you postpone your studies.
I get what you mean about the exorbitant school fees tho, my heart bleeds when I remember that I'm dropping $14k in July for the next semester and I've got 5 more semesters! There are so many things I can do with all that $$$. I do have a legit alternative of postponing my studies so I can pay less fees later, but I'm not sure if I want to do that cos I want to finish this degree and become a Registered Nurse asap. A semester lasts how many months? If fees are 9500 per trimester, what does that mean and how much will I pay in the end? Thanks |

Fishlink: I can say something about this anyway. The age care certification is about 6weeks and cost about 650AUD. That's for Perth ooo. That's what I intend to do as well as I resume July. My fiancé work at the nursing home so many African mostly Nigerians work there as carer and earn minimum of $24 per hour. But car is important in all o. It will cost u $1500 to get Camry tiny light while up to $2500 to get big daddy Camry. Learn driving here in Naija and explore everywhere so there won't be problem for u to drive in Australia. Retain ur Naija license as u can use it to drive there. I hope this help.... God will answer us soon that are waiting for visa grants Update : My friend in NSW did his for $2000 (according to him) and its exactly as you described |

Yh, if I understand what ya talking about, like enrolled nurse- aged care bla bla bla. It's just like specialising engineering into civil , mech etc. Nursing aged care, mental health, etc. That's to he beat of my knowledge sha Okay thanks Bro Oh about that back up plan, that's why I don't want to move an inch unless I have at least 1 year full tuition for a 2 year program me At least I'll be able to put together the 2nd year fees while working for 1 year I guess IT is good to go then as regards PR May God give you that $140,000/year job soon Thanks |

Cottyekundayo: NSW is good. But then, it depends on the region also. I no know that side Sha. About jobs, truly you may be lucky and you may not. That's why I said, never stand still. Anything wey come, Sha de think am before you do am. If the hours are adequate and regular, your fees should be paid via the jobs. But my brother, please have a back up plan at home. And regarding IT or Nursing, your friend on the 2k course, Bros NA aged care be that o. And no pr for that, except if his long term plan is to cross to nursing . IT is dope. And has good prospects too. Thanks for answering I want to understand a few things The backup plan, is it incase you're not granted PR at the end of the day? That Aged care, it's not a path way to PR? Of course he's not going the normal Nursing, aged care way, he mentioned that to me I thought I saw something Nursing - Aged care on one of the lists someone posted on Page 3 that it speeds up Pr (I'm Reading from the beginning) Please clarify God bless |
