Solumtoya: Understandably, they may prefer someone who doesn't require sponsorship. Also true, but for jobs that need certain skill sets or ones with Huge employee turnover, it's no brainer for them to start offering sponsorship The place I work, I even advised the top management guys in a meeting (even thought I don't need it) to just look at sponsorship instead of seeing their best hands leave They refused to until when they saw that people kept leaving every month to where there's sponsorship Companies may decide not to do it though but common sense says to |

Iolo: Affordability isn’t the only issue. Why should a company pay at all when you can hire someone else that doesn’t require sponsorship? Also, some firms have to hire a law firm to deal with this which is additional paper work. That’s why it’s difficult to get sponsorship for non-technical roles as supply is abundant. They should continue If the supply was that abundant, there won't be lots of tech roles going unoccupied and the constant noise on LinkedIn per hiring talent Where I work now (support) , no one told them before they went to go and get it done under 2 months. When they're unable to hold on to talent and have to restart the recruitment process every 3 months, body go tell them |

Iolo: I believe the additional costs is a main challenge. I hear it costs anywhere from £5k and above in fees. LOL So companies that are willing to pay £70K/yr salaries won't be able to afford 5K? |

Solumtoya: Contrary to what you're saying, Sponsorship is NOT a "30 minute task", many Companies don't have the license while those who do may not afford the time and resources that go into the process. Recruitment is an expensive process so is Sponsorship and many Companies try to avoid it where possible. Many firms use big consultants like Deloitte to do the process and some candidates end up not having the requirements like English proficiency proof or they have legal complications in their current visa that makes Sponsorship herculean. Getting the license /paperwork required for Sponsorship isn't that much of a big deal as you're making it seem Problem is those companies also think it's a big deal and a lot of hassle so they just totally stay away from it |

Adedoks: Just asking? cant the parents being investigated send their kids back to naija for holiday immediately and leave them there till the dust is settled. some British parents are bad with parenting, very bad. with what I have seen here in the space of one year, yet the focus of some of this social workers is on gullible immigrants. Abuse in any form should not be tolerated but cant we all see a pattern here that a particular group is being targeted.
After all the stress of cost of living in this UK, one will now add Social Worker matter to the mix. Thought about this too but I say make i observe |
