@Kobojunkie, I am not here to give any credit to nobody. I am here to enlighten people to reflect about where we are coming from. Like once upon a time in US you live. Get it. Credit to them if they are doing as that. I am all for Nigeria, to be great again.

@Kobojunkie,the reason Fashola should be given the credit for providing the alternative to the people. At least some modern facilities are seen here. We need start from zero then to some appreciable level. Don't be dazed that I read through the thread with a sharp understanding and know where your points and your cohorts stand. This inform my contribution. May be you don't seem to know where you stand again. Sorry, confussed?

@Kobojunkie, does age really matters here? Old hospitals upgrade while new ones use modern facilities. Again, I bet the state has better hands than many private hospitals. Your argument here seems like the defeated folk. Those UK hospitals upgrade while Lagos got the very latest, the reason the Doctor in the home said the same facilities. You remember pattern recognition in Pre-School age. May be you missed that aspect then. Well, can't help you beyond this, not my fault.

Araysay, Kolojunkie & co-travellers, all assertions made by you in order to display unintelligent intelligence going through search engine to furnish faulty points, because you are enjoying subsidised health care and likes abroad which in reality you can't afford. How many of your family member can afford private room in a private hospital as you have posited, in Nigeria? Please tell me, how many of your Nigerian family can afford private room in EKO hospital and its like in Nigeria? To start with, were you born in such private roomed hospital? Why not face reality and tell us how much you pay for the health facilities you enjoy in US and how much is being subsidised by US government. May be you don't know, in this your abode, US, many died because they can't afford health-care cost. May be you don't know that an American sent himself to jail deliberately because he could not afford treatment for an ailment. After all, government take care of him in prison with tax payers money. These happen in US. Why are you all pretending here. All of us that work with multinational, how much subsidy do we get from our company to be able to deliver babies in those choice hospital around the country? Can you take care of that with your salary? How much subsidy do you get from Nigeria government teaching and specialist hospital. Just continue to deceive yourself. What Fashola has done is what we need because it is doing just what the project is planned to do. I can't laugh, private room in hospital that can accommodate family in Nigeria. Some NLdrs reasoning flow out of their brain when in front of their computers. Just come home and she how the family you leave behind are living. Then you will chant: Fashola I hail Thee, The Messiah.
TV/MoviesRe: Who Do You Prefer Jackie Chan Or Jet Li ? by HyeBits: 5:20pm On Dec 05, 2011
I chose Jackie. I like his film "AROUND THE WORLD IN 8O DAYS " most.
But talking about the fighting skills and stunts, I give it to Jet Li. Check out his "BLACK MASK".
PoliticsRe: Why Did Adekunle Make This Statement by HyeBits: 7:17pm On Nov 29, 2011
@Bashr8, this is my point you have given thrust here, the only mistake i see from the hands of ojukwu is granting banjo his request for tropps to use and sack occupyin niorthern  Nigerian soldiers in yorubaland and release of awolowo from jail for treason. My line: Biafra Soldiers set its boots on his fatherland, killing helpless children, women, unarmed men, animals, vegetation and dreams. Desecrating his sisters and mothers. Because Ojukwu was too ambitious to want to go to the North through Lagos, Ondo and Benin

@Bashr8, these are the reasons Adekunle made this statement: Biafra Soldiers set its boots on his fatherland, killing helpless children, women, unarmed men, animals, vegetation and dreams. Desecrating his sisters and mothers. Because Ojukwu was too ambitious to want to go to the North through Lagos, Ondo and Benin. Is That Taken?
PoliticsRe: Why Did Adekunle Make This Statement by HyeBits: 6:47pm On Nov 29, 2011
@ Bashr8, you mean how many men, women, children Ojukwu led to the world beyond. In his campaign of ill-prepared war. Planning to use men, women, children as shield. What a WARLORD WAR-RUN he is indeed.

@ Dk, I dont know the population of women and children killed in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. All I know is that there is no soldier casualty and the cities were not the battle lines.
PoliticsRe: Why Did Adekunle Make This Statement by HyeBits: 6:00pm On Nov 29, 2011
@ bashr8, don't get this wrong, Yoruba people also have interest in Nigeria and what happens within it. To set you alright you thought East is at war with the North. But Ojukwu knew his strategy is to subject and harness the West. Why did the Biafra soldiers set their resounding boots on western soil, capturing, killing, maiming, Desecrating and all sorts. Ore face-off is still fresh in some people's mind. When my Igbo brothers complain about the way Nigeria troops treated them at the war. It beats me to feel that Ojukwu run a successful propaganda among the Igbos.
PoliticsRe: Why Did Adekunle Make This Statement by HyeBits: 5:47pm On Nov 29, 2011
@ Bashr8, its nobody fault if Biafra is weak in logistics. Blame this on the so called Oxford graduate with honours whose book knowledge made him skip the politics of war in his prelude to the campaign. What a shame! In WW 1 & 2, the civillians claim the most casualties, so why the Ibos complain on what they started childishly. These are all fallout of war.
PoliticsRe: Why Did Adekunle Make This Statement by HyeBits: 5:33pm On Nov 29, 2011
They thought war select which to kill out of the enemies at sight. They never knew guns pelted at random and that tanks reel in succession. They thought war was like fight 2 hrs then go back to cook, shower, visit mall, friends and then come back in another 6 hrs or never. WW 1 was thought to have ended before Christmas of 1914. The thought of Allies and Axis. But it never ended until 1945. Those of you that beat the drum of war on NL, may be you don't know that some people career is just to do that, like the Great Black Scorpion, "eni sango ba tojue wole, oni tohun oni bawon bu oba koso".

Funny Ezeagu, so Japan was nuked to shorten the war. Mind you the bomb used was never used despite unheared promissing devastation in the heart of Hiroshima on a bright morning where huge population was concentrated. So also with Black Scorpion to make the Biafra lone warlord coward take to his heel.

FamilyRe: My Son Lied To Us For Three Years, That He Was In The University. by HyeBits: 3:32pm On Nov 28, 2011
@overwhelmd, this was my younger brother story that seems adapted by you. He was admitted to a university and dropped himself out in year 3 like your son. Though he wanted to study medicine but missed two admission because of the cut-off marks and was force to take the alternative. Yes, we decided for him. But we never knew our action then was wrong but we were sincere to let him not get frustrated seeing his mates in university already. But we were wrong as he did dropped out in year 3. We got to know about his failing when his name was not on the graduation list. We visited the university and got to know he has dropped out of school, despite well above average grades he has achieved. He agreed to go back after the family pressure, again we were wrong as he dropped-out after few weeks. He was called and asked what he wanted. In fact, his plight was understood when he spoke with we boys (myself and our elder brother). He said he wanted to catchup and need our help. He opted for professional certification in IT. We rally round him and sent him off to India for the programme.
To God be the glory, he did his CCIE early this year in Belgium but failed it. He has been practising for over 5 years now as IT professional in Nigeria. Well comfortable, married, nice ride and he is raising his shoulder high now. We are proud of him as I write now. This is my experience as it happened to my blood brother. Don't dictate to him, show love, concern for his future and he will see you as partner in progress. Never make our mistake so that you are on track at once. I wish you well and all the family. May God crown your efforts.
Christianity EtcRe: Being A Christian Is A Mistake! by HyeBits: 5:26pm On Nov 22, 2011
Let's come to terms here. Our God, the Lord of the Worlds has given us the sense of reasoning and faculty intact, and all abiding cosmic laws to rule our life, living and existence. We need face it, the two ever contesting religions (Islam & Christianity) from the angle of common-sense. The two BOOKS from these religions need to be use as the balance to weigh which is the true religion. Initially is the Bible Word of God-who compiles it? Is the Qur'an from God as claimed by Muslims? This should be the yard-stick to measure or feel the authenticity of the scriptures. Truth be told about the violent nature of man vis-a-vis the two contesting religion under study. Till date, Jihad still rages on since the word JIHAD was first proclaimed-still supported by various jihad organisation across the world including BOKO HARAM. So also, the CRUSADE flag is still flying since mentioned and sanctioned by pope in the past-the fire of crusade still kindled by America and Nato till date. So who exonerate which religion, well propaganda is what some use to their advantage. Constructive mind, kindly engage in scholastic discuss.

The problem with majority of you here is that, you don't know how technology shape future of a nation if used in knowledge driven context.
@ ekt_bear, I know why you sound like this, because you see computer and IT as tool for recreation. Mind you if use for mind recreation it will shape a nation. Take Singapore as case study, you may include South-Korea as extension if you care.

It is not to enhance yahoo yahoo activities, but to build sophisticated workforce for 21st century economy. Pre-School kids also need computer for today knowledge economy. Don't you see the reason most Nigerian graduates are un-employable.

“Nigeria is not a nation. It is a mere geographical expression. There are no ‘Nigerians’ in the same sense as there are ‘English,’ ‘Welsh,’ or ‘French.’ The word ‘Nigerian’ is merely a distinctive appellation to distinguish those who live within the boundaries of Nigeria and those who do not.”

PoliticsRe: Professors Ayodele Awojobi And Chinua Achebe: Let's Compare Them by HyeBits: 11:31am On Nov 15, 2011
PROF. AWOJOBI - AN EDUCATIONIST

Ayodele Awojobi became, at one time, the chairman, Lagos State School’s Management Board, out of his concern for ways to better improve the problems inherent in secondary school education in Lagos State, Nigeria. Awojobi desired that all his children go to public schools. The older ones all did. Such was his vision and hope that the country would some day attain equitable distribution in the quality of education cutting across different social strata. Ayodele authored several books for both the secondary and tertiary levels of education in Nigeria.

PROF. AYODELE - AN INVENTOR

While as a lecturer in the University of Lagos, Awojobi successfully converted his own family car, an Opel Record, from right-hand drive to a left-hand drive.[10]

He tinkered further with motor engines when he acquired an army-type jeep and proceeded to invent a second steering wheel mechanism, adjoined to the pre-existing engine at the rear end, so that the vehicle was able to move in both forward and backward directions with all four pre-existing gears.[11] This gave the hybrid vehicle, which he christened Autonov 1, the ability to achieve its highest speeds at a moment's notice, in the normal reverse direction. He highlighted the advantage this might offer to army vehicles, as an example, that might need to make a fast retreat, in a cul-de-sac or ambush situation
PoliticsRe: Professors Ayodele Awojobi And Chinua Achebe: Let's Compare Them by HyeBits: 11:07am On Nov 15, 2011
PROF. AWOJOBI LIVED FOR 47 YEARS TO ACHIEVE THESE

Ayodele was a straight-‘A’s secondary school student, while at the CMS Grammar school, passing his West African School Certificate examinations with a record eight distinctions in 1955. He proceeded to the Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology, Ibadan, for his General Certificate of Examinations, GCE (Advanced Level), where in 1958 he sat for, and obtained distinctions in all his papers: Physics, Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. In 1962 Awojobi was awarded his first degree in Mechanical Engineering – a BSc (Eng) London, with first class honours, at the then Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology, Zaria (now Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria).[3] He had studied there on a federal government scholarship won on the merit of his performance in the GCE (Advanced Level) examinations of 1958.[3]

It was said by Akintola Ajai (himself an engineering graduate of the University of London), that when Awojobi arrived at the Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology, Zaria, he boasted openly saying that it was his intention to finish the whole course within a period of three years only; an impracticable feat due to the fact that nowhere was the BSc Mechanical Engineering curriculum designed to run less than four years. Ayodele accomplished it in three years just as he had predicted.[6]

The federal government awarded Awojobi another scholarship in 1962 to study further at the post-graduate level in the field of Mechanical Engineering at the Imperial College of the University of London (now Imperial College London). He completed the course, successfully defending his thesis, and was awarded a PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 1966.
