vincentjk:I walk Roscoe at least 4 days a week for an hour. apart from that, he's free 24/7 to play, run and hump everyone(which he does daily) do you think that's enough exercise? that's all I can offer lol last time I walked him for 30mins was when he was an adolescent, since adulthood his walks are always an hour long except we're just strolling |
it's definitely a gsd/cauc mix it's a cute pup p.s I said it's a gsd cauc mix because the mask, snout, ears and coat do not look German Shepherd at all. those parts rep the Caucasian breed more, ask for the pics of the parents you'll see at least one of them has Caucasian in it. |
agboedeh:yeah I was reluctant to try it again because when he was younger it used to give him bad stools, I even fed him indomie for weeks and the stooling didn't become better so I dumped it. I bought a little bag of it and tried it again about a month ago and it was okay with him, since then that's what he has been eating (along with rice). |
Spanishmilf:is its someone you know? they are usually more expensive than that |
vincentjk:not at all, I was spending more when Roscoe was a puppy ![]() he used to eat 4 times a day. now he's an adult I spend at at least 12k on his indomie, chicken, fish, bones and eggs monthly |
vincentjk:exactly, Roscoe is always free except we have a visitor. |
Spanishmilf:lmao I can recognise their barks once I hear it ![]() they are good for work, athletic and also military work but if you keep them bored for too long they become a nuisance. they are good dogs sha, just that my lifestyle isn't compatible with them |
vincentjk:this is really nice, is this for both of then or just Augusto? |
Spanishmilf:it's not by appearance ![]() check if they have guard instincts, you can bring the two of them home and they'll be smiling like that when someone jumps over your fence. they are beautiful tho, just make sure they have guard instincts |
Spanishmilf:you can try a different breed then ![]() I also don't particularly like gsds, don't get me wrong I love all breeds and I have a soft spot for all of them but gsds bark too much and they are too clingy, most of the time they are pushovers too, I like dogs with strong will ![]() |
Spanishmilf:you know Pitts aren't guard dogs right? they were bred not to have human aggression you can make the wrong choice and the dog will be more interested in fighting your boerbel than guarding your house. if you want a guard dog, go for a dog that has good guard instincts naturally. with the pitbull it's a game of chance because the breed is not human aggressive but some have guard instincts, you have to actually select a pup from a good pair |
Terrorboy:personally I feel a good guard dog will bark at strangers no matter how frequently he hears noises. he can differentiate between random outside noise and noise coming from people at the gate. people can discuss and even play and pass the road in front of my gate but he won't bark except they make an unusual noise, once someone actually comes to the gate and stops there, even before they knock, he'll bark at them and run there. even if he's inside the house, he can tell when a stranger is in the compound. I've heard about the whole backyard cage thing but I don't believe it makes a guard dog, in fact dogs that were brought up like that usually bark at any small noise and movement when they are free which I feel isn't a pleasant thing ![]() at least since he's used to random background noises I'm sure if he's barking then it's something I have to come and check out. although when he was younger he used to bark anyhow, with time he started differentiating noises. now he knows the sound of our car horn and engine , before you reach the gate with the car he's already there waiting unlike if it's a random car, that one he'll just ignore it.he knows the sounds to ignore and the ones that should concern him, the whole backyard thing just makes your dog nervous and anxious to sounds, if you want your dog not to be scared of strange sounds then desensitization is the best way to tackle it not locking them away from it. if your dog is a guard dog, whether you lock it up at the backyard, front or inside your house he'll bark at an intruder when he spots one. |
vincentjk:I love boerbels too, Augusto is a beauty
when they are well fed and muscular they look really great |
ayobamiakinrind:take her to a vet for testing ASAP |
Toju200:you see?, I told you to wait ![]() |
Spanishmilf:that's not an issue nah ![]() |
Sofia01:here's a throwback pic from when he was 5 weeks old. that's all I have for now ![]()
|
Spanishmilf:why? |
MrrKay:I really love cane corso's they're one of my favorite dog breeds, they just look regal and beautiful |
Spanishmilf:I'm not sure yet but I have my eyes on cane corso, Rottweiler or maybe I'll just keep another Caucasian ![]() |
Spanishmilf:I've thought about that sha, I don't think I have the time to take care of 2 dogs right now, maybe later on I'll add a sibling for him ![]() |
lmao I'll try ooh ![]() |
Leetvilla:I understand what you're going through but not letting your dog play in dirt won't kill them. you can only let them out when the ground is dry and it's fine, they can play inside the house like they were bred to, toy dogs are inside dogs not outside dogs. even if you use whitening shampoo on them it still won't bleach away the sand right? just keep them indoors except outside is dry and they'll be fine |
Leetvilla:never use jik on your dog ever. do you think people use household bleach to whiten dogs? you'll hurt your dog. just stick to the whitening shampoo |
Leetvilla:yes you shouldn't bathe them everyday that's true so try keeping the dog away from dirt |
forreelliinc:what's wrong with the dog's head size? how large do you want the head to be relative to body size? and do you think all Boerbels grow like the one in the pic you posted?. do you know that their are different types of Boerbels?, not every Boerbel is flat faced and wide chested. if we ask you to point out any physical signs of another breed in it's body can you point anything out? did you even read what I said about bloodlines? lemme show you another example of bloodlines in breeding. this is Osaka a pedigree Caucasian shepherd at 5yrs, does he look like the ones you see online? does it mean he's not pure bred?. Osaka's lineage all look like this because they share the same bloodline, it's in their nature not to grow very large or hairy like the ones we see online but they are still purebred. if Osaka was in Nigeria people will jump up to say he's not pure because he isn't a mountain Caucasian with giant hairy paws even before checking his pedigree. the second pic is vastelin at 3yrs, he's also a pedigree Caucasian but he looks more like the one's people call purebred because of his features. the two dogs are pedigree with totally different looks and sizes. the thing is that most people when they import Caucasians they import the one's that look like vastelin because they are more attractive but that doesn't make every other type trash or impure. before you shout that a dog is impure don't use size or head size to judge.
|
Leetvilla:you bathe them and keep them clean. do you really think people bleach or polish their dogs?. |
Jackonsy:the dude isn't a breeder nor an expert. he just trolls every page and you're begging him for advice and giving him attention. ignore the account whenever you come across it. he doesn't even know what a boerbel is and you're asking him for advice?, he doesn't even have a dog to start with he screenshots other peoples dogs and lies that they belong to him |
vincentjk:oh yes it does, he eats every single part of it, it's soft and filled with marrow |
vincentjk:I uploaded a pic of it on my thread |
Jackonsy:your dog looks purebred to me one thing you need to know is that because a dog doesn't look like the best representation of it's breed doesn't mean it's not purebred. bloodlines also have a thing to add, if your dog isn't from a very good bloodline then it won't grow like the others from better bloodlines whether it's purebred or not. purebred means if it's mixed with any other breed or not, it doesn't mean if it's very attractive. a dog can be pedigree and still be ugly compared to non-pedigree dogs. your dog is not bad at all, it's an okay boerbel and it looks purebred to me(although not from a top bloodline), just enjoy your dog and stop worrying about all these things. |
forreelliinc:if you call going on every dog thread on NL acting like a prepubescent fool gifted then you are very gifted |
